Author Bio:
Joe Rosato is a tour guide at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation located in Holmdel, NJ. He has volunteered at the memorial since 2007 and is a liaison for volunteers on the Board of Directors. Joe enlisted in the U.S Navy from his hometown of Brooklyn, NY on Dec. 7, 1966. His basic training was at The U.S. Submarine Training Center in New London, CT. He ended up his enlistment in the Navy by serving in the Vietnam War at Yankee Station (Gulf Of Tonkin) in 1968 as a Helmsman and Lee Helmsman aboard the aircraft carrier USS America CVA-66.
Joe Rosato is considered a freight logistics expert and has spoken at various trade groups over the years. He is a retired owner and co-founder of his own freight logistics company based in Wall, NJ. He worked in the freight transportation industry for over 43 years before retiring in 2009. He lives in Farmingdale, NJ and has two children. His son and daughter-in law live in nearby Jackson, NJ with their two children and a daughter living in Silverton, Co.
Joe is an active speaker and volunteer with many veterans groups and for four years also volunteered in The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He also is a lifetime member of Vietnam Veterans of America, and holds memberships in The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He considers volunteering at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial a passion for giving back some history to the youth of New Jersey.

From the time that he zoned out of elementary school to dream about visiting planets beyond our galaxy, Stephen has always fantasized about great worlds, fantastic journeys and incredible stories. As a novelist, her style is to keep conversations realistic. So funnily enough, although she doesn’t swear, her characters do; perhaps this is her unconscious release.
The questions most readers ask her of her writing style: What makes you distinct from other writers?
There are two things: One, she likes to infuse her stories with what she calls the “everyday moment” because it adds flavour to the narrative. It gives it authenticity. For instance, if someone was depress she’d have the character watch a lot of infomercials on television. From her observation, this is a reality of life, when we are struggling, we do mindless activities like sleep or watch the paint dry.
Two, she likes the interplay of light and dark. “That’s life, isn’t it?” She said, adding that, “even in our period of mourning, there is laughter. And when we are happy, sadness still creeps into our lives. As a result of this, my stories tend to be a roller-coaster ride. A lot of ups and downs.”

When I was a child, I loved the library. I brought home as many books as I was allowed to check out and that I could carry. I spent long hours reading whenever I got the chance. Reading was my magic carpet, a free ticket to adventures that seemed impossible otherwise. As an adult, I took my children to the library. I wanted them to enjoy books as much as I did. When I began to write, I had to learn how to let my own stories reveal themselves. At first, it wasn’t easy. I was my own worst critic. After years of writer’s block, I gave up.
