Born in Victoria, BC, Canada, Jay has traveled the world, passing through many places in the news today, including Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and the Swat valley in Pakistan. He has worked at an amazing variety of jobs, from cab driver to land surveyor to accordion salesman to software developer.
Jay is the author of two novels, THE ARX, and ELDORADO, a novella, CHOPPER MUSIC, and a number of short stories. A new novel is due late in 2016, and several other projects are in the works. His stories always skirt close to the edge of believability (but hopefully never cross over). Born in the mid-1980s in Australia’s Top End, Gordon was plucked from his home at the age of 12 by his chicken-farming father and began moving around the world, from England to Saudi Arabia, Scotland, back to England, Jordan, Bahrain, before heading home to Australia at the age of 24 to reclaim his Aussie identity.
He spent four years at boarding school in Scotland, partook in a brief yet unspectacular stint at the University of London, studying Arabic, before transferring to the University of Jordan to continue learning the language. Six months later he gained his first professional writing experience working as a sports journalist for Bahrain Tribune, a daily broadsheet newspaper in the Gulf. Gordon has travelled to nearly 30 countries in his lifetime, and will not rest until he has ticked every single one of them off his list.
On his return to Australia, he attempted to hitchhike from Brisbane to Darwin, merely to see if it was possible, but hit Townsville where they didn’t like the look of his beard. He slept for three nights in the same spot, cosily nestled between a railway track and a main highway, being awoken intermittently by road trains and train trains. On the fourth day a man picked him up and offered him a job scooping dead barramundi out of a man-made dam. They had perished after heavy fog had suffocated all the fish on the farm.
For days he toiled until the last, rotting fish had been removed. So impressed was the farmer with Gordon’s fish removing skills, that he offered him a job as a house relocator, picking houses up and moving them to different parts of the country. I love the English language and in mid-life obtained an Honours degree in English Literature from the University of London and the study was simply a work of love.
My latest book is titled ‘Kindness Code’ and is a short book inspired by, I think, feelings of gratitude for the kindness shown to me by friends and strangers at a dark period in my life..

She’s spent the last decade working in Administrative Management, exploring anything science related, and looking for her next big adventure. Though she started writing short stories in the third grade, she tackled her first novel-length manuscript, Witch Hunt in 1992. As a single mother, time was a precious commodity and though she had little to spare, she continued writing and completed her second manuscript, Exodus, in 1994. Echoes of Harmony followed in 1996 and would become her breakout novel in 2014. Her other works include Caliban and Canyon Echoes, also published in 2014. Published in 2015 were the first two books of the Extinction Series: Genesis and Flash Point. The next two books: Judas and Asylum are slated for release in 2016. As she continues working on Extinction, Miranda also has planned a short story that will be released in December of 2016 in an anthology whose proceeds will go to charity. It will later end up in a short story collection which will include her favorites. Also planned is Eldorado: A Cottonwood Cove Adventure. The genres Miranda prefers to write are also among her favorite reads: Thrillers, Science Fiction, and Horror, all with a suspenseful edge that leaves the reader riding the edge of their seat and turning the pages. The Extinction Series is her first exploration into Post-Apocalyptic suspense with a hard dystopian edge and more than a little science fiction. Though she has read some historical romance, she prefers romance to be the seasoning in the dish, not the main course. Her favorite writers include, but are in no way limited to: Agatha Christie, Edgar Allan Poe, Sir Author Conan Doyle, T.S. Eliot, Robert Frost, Robert Browning, Michael Crichton, Dean Koontz, and Stephen King. These are authors whose work she rereads once every year or two as, she says, it is like visiting an old friend.
