When his grandfather has to go away for treatment, he tells Wes he’s going to move into the hotel and work every position and take care of his beagle, Betty. Hijinks ensue and someone ends up stealing Betty. Will they find her before grandfather returns? Will Wes be able to keep Letty in his life once she finds out who he really is? No spoilers, so grab your copy. I will say, I really enjoyed the ending.

* The main characters were well rounded, the situations seemed plausible and their reactions true.A light read but enjoyable. The characters are interesting and the plot is fun. A sweet and clean romance and an entertaining read.

* A lighthearted look at all the things that hold us back! Love forgives, love trusts and love accepts This clean romance will win your heart! Well written with a good story line

* This book premise kept catching my eye. The opening scene was pretty comical but Letty, the main female character, had me wondering if I would connect with her or end up not liking the book. There were a couple swear words in that scene as well and with not having previously read many other books by this author, I again wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Let me tell you that I changed my mind the further into the book I read. The more information that was revealed, the more I understood Letty and Wes’ characters. The motivation behind their actions and choices. This book had some hidden (or rather unspoken/unclarified identities) within, dealt a lot with being truthful and honest, deceitful people, trying to prove oneself and finding the healing needed after some life situations. I laughed, I cringed, I cheered on Betty the Beagle. Ok, I was rooting for Wes and Letty (the human) as well.
Overall it was a fun read as well as one that made me think about relationships and actions as well…oh and forgiveness. I’ve got several of Kristy Tate’s books waiting for me on my kindle and I’m looking forward to finding some more time to enjoy them. Did I mention that opening scene? Let me just say I might have been frozen in shock, mortified and unsure what to do. Hysterical.

The clock was old and packed away in a box, it had not been used for ninety years but it began working with it tick-tock sound every time a certain couple started kissing. How romantic can you get? The characters are so warm and special in this book you will enjoy everything about the end. Happy to recommend this book.

This is a love story, but I enjoyed the strong family love that both Darby and Chad expressed. It is really funny at times more sentimental others. A fun summer read.

The author took the main female character, Darby, on a journey where she discovers how to reach out and take control of her future getting a backbone and using her talents and skills in a way that brings her pleasure versus just stability and a solid job opportunity. This was a long time coming as she is the proverbial doormat at the beginning to both her English long distant romance and her boss.

If you’re looking for steaming romance this one is not it. It’s a sweet love story where both characters are flawed/human but still connect.

The main character’s family is hilarious! So good to see the importance of family in the story! I really liked that the main character and love interest have to work at the relationship, and she learns some things about herself that help her mature and be ready for the relationship. I loved the clock in the story, but wanted it more involved, and more explanation about how and why it works the way it does! I also enjoyed her best friend and can’t wait to hear her story next. I wish there was a prologue to let us know what happened with the couple, the ranch, the ex-girlfriend, and grandma. Can’t wait for the next in the series!

My writing inspiration started with Neil Armstrong’s first footsteps on the Moon. I was serving in the U.S. Air Force in 1969 when Apollo 11 touched down, and I remember thinking that we had finally made it. I’d been reading science fiction since grade school, and now all those wonderful stories of space travel –as told by Heinlein, Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke — were about to come true. We’d soon be on Mars and have manned missions going to the asteroid belt and the outer planets. Star travel? Well, why not — we’d already met and conquered so many scientific and engineering challenges we’d probably figure out how to get around Einstein as well.

Of course, that didn’t happen. 1972 saw the last landing on the Moon, and when another decade saw no attempt to return I felt like a dream had been lost. That’s when I started writing, and the Lunar Free State series is the result — stories about people who didn’t lose the dream.

There’s no limit to what we can achieve if we put our minds to it, and so far there’s no limit to the stories I want to write. The original series is now five novels published to date and another one scheduled for publication in March of 2022. Meanwhile, I’ve been doing something I never thought I’d do — writing stories in someone else’s “universe.” I’ve got two novels in the raw and gritty urban fantasy series known as Hit World, created by William Alan Webb and Larry Hoy. That series begins with Webb’s The Trashman and my two are titled The Ferryman and The Dragons of Styx. I’ve promised Bill Webb another one in that series for 2022.

… and then, I’ve got two short stories in the anthologies Standing Fast and Standing and Standing Defiant, stories in Webb’s Last Brigade series. For those who like post-apocalyptic SF, these are two great collections of stories by a bunch of great writers.

Some of the best years of my life were spent on my grandfather’s farm on the prairie of the South-Central North Dakota plains. He married my grandmother there who was a part of a group of emigrants from an Eastern European country now called Ukraine. They brought with them the knowledge and perseverance they learned there to successfully farm their new homestead’s here with some of the harshest conditions the United States had to offer.

My grampa was a hard working man who let all of his grandchildren know he loved them and did so without saying anything. He was playful, patient and always fair. He told us a story as we were driving home from town one sunny afternoon. Some outlaws had robbed a bank in another small town not too far away and “rode their horses up that butte over there (the one on the cover of “Grampa’s Heart Note”) and buried the money”. Even though I chuckle today, I still believe him although I never heard anything like that from anyone else. I trusted him in fun and when being taught other lessons in life. He made a very cool impression on this little girl when he reared up his white horse as he was leaving the yard with my uncle to round up cattle to move them to another pasture. Saturday afternoon TV was full of shoot’em up cowboy shows and here I had my very own hero right in front of me!

A grandparents death seems to affect small children the hardest. They are often closer to them than their own parents because of the personal attention, patience and experienced emotional care they receive. Processing their passing can manifest itself as a very deep and permanent sense of loss. “Grampa’s Heart Note” is a story about such a situation and how a little girl managed to keep the almost impossible task of holding his love and presence with her, always.

After I graduated from University, I became an English teacher in a primary school in China. I loved teaching children, and my students loved me. They showed me their pure minds and beautiful souls. That was the first thing that inspired me to write children’s books. The second was my passion for traveling. I have traveled to five continents, and I hope to travel more. During my trips I have seen beautiful children, nature, animals, and adults. I have heard many fascinating stories from different cultures. This, too, has been a big inspiration for me to write children’s books.

Last, but most importantly: I’m a proud aunt of my niece, Candy, and nephew, Leon. Their bubbly personalities always give me new ideas to create. I am the kind of aunt who loves to tell stories. Watching Candy and Leon growing up has inspired me to create stories for children.

Crystal Holdipp is a psalmist, writer, inspirational speaker, philanthropist, advocate, and Christian ministry leader.

Crystal won the Most Promising Performer cast award from Gina Spence Productions in Christ as a debut in a small acting part in the musical “A figure Of Speech 2009”. The author has also worked in their community outreach programs and continues to occasionally volunteer in community outreach and non – profit activities.

Crystal studied and graduated from the Writers Bureau with a diploma in Creative Writing and has been writing since a teenager but grew more into it while studying at the Writers Bureau from 2011 – 2014. Previously she completed a minor concentration in Early Childhood Education at Bermuda College. In addition, Crystal has studied through Philanthropy University (2019) and received certification in Advocacy with a final grade of 97%(A+) also receiving several A+ grades for writing assignments in this course. She has written and published books titled ‘Poems From The Heart’, ‘Inspiring Moments: Encouragement for the Soul’ and ‘Resilient: Rise Above the Ashes’. The writer has written for and been published with both local and overseas publications including the Royal Gazette, Bermuda Sun, Yahoo!, Success Story, Voice 4 Society, Inc, and Bermuda Bliss Magazine.
