I was born in the Balkans, and I lived in the former Yugoslavia. We never talked about food that much since we were happy and good food was a normal part of our lives. After the fall of communism and dissolution of Yugoslavia, Balkan become (yet again?) a place with negative associations for people around the globe. Some of them barely know where Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Bulgaria, or Turkey are, but they know that there is something wrong with that part of the world.

Unfortunately, when I ask my friends from around the globe about positive things in the region, they always mention only two things. Very good food and nice people. “I love your sarma,” or, “Your mom is preparing amazing musaka,” is something I have heard so many times. I tried to present only recipes that our mothers have made for decades, without adding “modern food.”

Story telling has been a part of my life for as far back as I can remember. I told countless bedtime stories to my six children through the years making them an important part of each adventure. My first written story came at the age of six when I wrote about the experience of the death of my dog. Now, as an adult, I can lose myself in an adventure and take thousands of people along for the ride. I can also encourage, challenge, counsel, and give people hope with stories while providing wholesome entertainment. I chose to write romance novels partly in response to other books in this genre. I believe that a lot of people would like to read a good romance without all of the graphic details that move many books in this genre into a category that seems more like pornography than literature. I prefer to allow the readers’ imagination to fill in any details that my story might suggest, and I want my main characters to present the kind of relationship that every couple aspires to experience.

Growing up in a home surrounded by love and affirmation provided for me a solid foundation where I was encouraged to dream the impossible dream. I played sports, studied music, developed a love for the outdoors, enjoyed the strong spiritual influence of my parents, and became a scuba diver before I graduated from high school. I received an undergraduate degree in music from the University of Georgia and pursued additional degrees in Texas and Louisiana. One of my greatest joys came in meeting the love of my life at a conference. We eventually married and are blessed with six beautiful children who bring great delight to my life.

I am an avid scuba diver, and I enjoy backpacking and camping with my family. Living near Atlanta, Georgia offers me the opportunity of hiking in the north Georgia mountains or flying off to the Caribbean for another underwater adventure. I have hiked about half of the 2190 miles of the Appalachian Trail and anticipate climbing the final mountain in Maine within the next nine or ten years. I am a blessed man, and I find great pleasure in sharing stories with people that will put a smile on their faces and hope in their hearts.

I was born in the Balkans, and I lived in the former Yugoslavia. We never talked about food that much since we were happy and good food was a normal part of our lives. After the fall of communism and dissolution of Yugoslavia, Balkan become (yet again?) a place with negative associations for people around the globe. Some of them barely know where Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Bulgaria, or Turkey are, but they know that there is something wrong with that part of the world.

Unfortunately, when I ask my friends from around the globe about positive things in the region, they always mention only two things. Very good food and nice people. “I love your sarma,” or, “Your mom is preparing amazing musaka,” is something I have heard so many times. Born in 2001 in the mystic island of Sri Lanka, Abdul Adhl Azeez first attended his preschool at ABC School of Early learning where he impressed his teachers with his skills of keeping other kids enthralled with storytelling. He acted in plays in the preschool until he joined St. Peter’s College Colombo 04 on the 7th of January 2007.

After entering middle school Abdul Adhl Azeez started to write poems and acted in a drama known as the Christmas Wish produced by the school and the Silent Hands Theater company. In 2014 he was appointed as the president of the Junior English Literary Association.

Then he entered the upper school in 2015 and he assumed responsibilities such as the Project Coordinator of the Model United Nations Club and he was a member of the College Rowing Crew. He sat the General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level Examination held by the Department of Education and passed with 9 Distinction passes.

In 2018 he was appointed as a College Steward and promoted later on as a Junior Prefect. Abdul Adhl Azeez was then appointed Secretary of the Islamic Society and the Assistant Secretary of the Do You Know Club. On the 21st of October in 2018, he launched Sri Lanka’s first-ever middle school mystery book in English, The School Detective Gang Lord Chanchellor’s Daughter at the Annasi and Kadalagotu Literary Festival.

I’ve always wanted to do things my own way. When I was 7 years old, I decided I’d waited long enough to learn how to ride a bike, so I taught myself. My dad tried to help, but I insisted on doing it myself. Practice mostly consisted of falling over (thankfully, dad did manage to get me in safety gear), but eventually, I was riding up and down the block. I remember that sense of pride. I’ve been chasing that feeling ever since.

I was lucky to have parents that encouraged this trait in me. We were an outdoorsy family, so most weekends in the summer were spent camping. I learned how to build a fire, identify edible plants, and use a compass. For a while, I didn’t really think about the idea of prepping at home. That changed when my dad suddenly lost his job when I was in high school. I immediately began worrying that we would run out of money and we wouldn’t be able to buy enough food. When I expressed my fears to my mom, she showed me her emergency pantry. It was full of canned and dry goods. “We’ll always have enough to eat, Ken,” she comforted me. “We’re ready for anything.” The wave of relief that washed over me was powerful. I decided then and there that I would always make sure I thought ahead and anticipated emergencies.

I’ve kept up my self-sufficient habits. In college, I challenged myself and camped alone for a week. I still go camping regularly with my family, but I’m more focused on preparing our home for whatever the future might hold. That means building lots of shelf space for food, mastering my sewing skills, and working toward one day getting off the grid. I’m very lucky to have the support of my wife, who is just as passionate about prepping as I am. We’re proud to raise children who will be able to take care of themselves.

I’m Skeleton Steve, Author of *epic* unofficial Minecraft books. Thanks for checking out my author page!

My stories aren’t your typical Minecraft junk food for the brain. I work hard to design great plots and complex characters to take you for a roller coaster ride in their shoes! Er … claws. Monster feet, maybe?

All of my stories written by (just) me are designed for all ages—kind of like how the Harry Potter series appeals to both kids and adults—and they’re twisting journeys of epic adventure! For something more light-hearted, check out my “Fan Series” books, which are collaborations between myself and my fans.

The feedback is really helpful, and you guys have offered many ideas to put in new stories, and I’ve used a lot of them! Some of the major characters (like Slinger the Spider, or Skonathan the skeletal swordsman) came from suggestions from you fans!
