Erin Spineto started her writing journey in 2011 with Islands and Insulin, her memoir of sailing solo 100 miles down the Florida Keys with type 1 diabetes back in a time when doctors were foolish enough to recommend against this kind of wild adventure with diabetes. She followed it up a few years later with Adventure On, a nonfiction book on using adventure to increase motivation to take care of chronic conditions like diabetes. Since then she has moved on to fiction and is currently working on Warrior Women, a three-book angsty RomCom series full of female surfers who happen to have diabetes and other autoimmune issues. Erin’s journey with autoimmune conditions started in 1996 with type 1 diabetes. Not letting anything slow her down, Erin is also a long-distance endurance adventurer and autoimmune advocate who uses stories to encourage others with chronic illness to go big. Octavia has written poems since childhood, and during the lockdown of Spring 2020 she found it very therapeutic to express herself this way. One that stood out was about a group of cats, trying to work out what was happening as their owners stopped going to work! Having always dreamed of writing children’s books, Octavia decided to take the plunge and made the poem into her first self-published book. Cats’ Eye View of Lockdown is the first in a series and became her first bestseller. Cats’ Eye View of Litter followed after she was confronted by a plethora of photos on local social media pages, of park bins overflowing. This became her second best seller!

Meredith Hill is a very “horsey” person who grew up in a very non-horsey environment. Still, armed with endless determination, she is now proud to count over 30 years of participation in the equestrian community. Ms.Hill has spent many years participating in the ultimate equestrian networking activity: cleaning stalls. Her manure technician skills have provided her with insight into a USDF competition barn, several A-circuit hunter barns, an American Warmblood breeding facility, an equine rescue and rehabilitation center, and a more private, backyard barns than she can remember. Through these connections, she’s been able to dabble in a wide variety of disciplines including dressage, hunter/jumper, reining, western pleasure, trail riding, three-day eventing, and barrel racing.
Given the diversity of her experiences, Ms. Hill has learned a great deal about horses and horse keeping. She has attended and participated in seminars and clinics with top equestrians, including Jane Savoie, John Lyons, Jim Wofford, and Lendon Gray. Though she competed with her college’s Intercollegiate Horse Show Association team, she stepped away from the show ring after college to focus on horse care and rehabilitation.
