I grew up on the tree lined streets of Queens, New York. My first extended leave was to attend college. I graduated from Ithaca College in 1971.

After a decade of jobs in local and national TV and Radio time sales, I eventually owned an FM radio station in upstate New York. However, I couldn’t shake the idea of “go west young man”.

So I packed my car and drove off into the sunset. A sojourn that lasted over twenty years.

In the late 80’s I began a career in finance. But I had the media bug and wrote and preformed over 2000 Radio and TV financial commentaries. I was last read as the Capitalist Cop on the ETF.com web site.

My wife and I now make our home in Queens, NYC.

Author Bio:
Dr Toula Gordillo was born in Brisbane, Australia. She grew up travelling the country with a nature-loving father narrating stories, songs and poetry, and a mother who taught her music and distance education. The family eventually settled on the Great Dividing Range—a city called Toowoomba. Toula’s own life, in many ways, is as diverse as the protagonists in this book. Like the characters Jack and Emily who also ‘lived’ west of the Range, Dr Gordillo followed a dream. She escaped to an alternate reality through fantasy fiction to cope with adversity during her teen years.

At seventeen, Toula and her mother moved to Katherine in the Northern Territory. Here, Toula attended Katherine State High School and was exposed to the storytelling method of the Territory’s First Nation’s population. On an extended trek in a closed and largely unexplored inner region of the majestic Himalayan wilderness, in an isolated valley surrounded by vast snow fields and towering ice peaks, explorer M.G. Hawking chanced on a beautiful small village where he encountered remarkable men and women, introduced to him as “masters” and “adepts.”
Our team at Wisdom Masters Press has worked diligently to compose a series of books based on Hawking’s records of his sixty-two months in that remote region of the Himalayas. I was born in Texas as a menacing middle child with a strange imagination that I still don’t understand, but following it, led me to become the writer I am today. In my youth, I adventured with my little brother to places unknown. I was drawn to read books including The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, or The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, anything with a hint of fantasy always piqued my interest. When I wasn’t watching TV, playing RPGs like Breath of Fire, Earthbound, Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger turned the wheels of my creativity, eventually leading me to write thousands of pages of fan-fiction devoted to the characters I cherished.

My passion to create fantastical tales was inspired by the loss of my best friend, and cat, Uno. I always created stories for my friends and me to play out, but through his loss, I finally put this on paper.
