“Eat Beat Sleep Repeat: a FIFO Life” is a memoir describing life and experiences as a Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) worker in the oil and gas industry, from trainee to fifteen-year veteran. My career – so far – has included stints on four offshore facilities and one major onshore LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) project. I currently work on the World’s largest floating object which I helped build in South Korea over a three year period. These experiences have been unique in many ways, but are conveyed in a very human way. I was not interested in writing a technical book, a history of the industry, or an environmental tome of monumental importance. This is just a story of my life as a FIFO worker during one of the busiest and most interesting times in the industry, particularly Australia.

I believe that a large amount of “normal” people are very interested in this lifestyle, apart from the 150,000 plus FIFO workers based in Australia, Canada and elsewhere. It also openly and honestly describes my descent into depression, sometimes so bad I wanted to suicide. FIFO can be hard. FIFO is a different life altogether, it comes with its own issues and problems, from distances travelled, the method of getting there, fatigue, dangerous conditions, depression, anxiety, separation from family and The World, huge relationship hurdles, as well as the concept of being trapped by the lifestyle and the large salaries, the Golden Handcuffs as we call it. In fact, this book is a study of Australian working culture in many ways with all its blemishes.

The lifestyle is not for everyone, especially offshore, and many people have crashed and burned in the time I have been in the job. We do a minimum of 12 hour days, 7 days a week, up to 28 days straight, sometimes longer when storms hit or choppers fail. At the same time a lot of us get paid well and we get decent breaks when we spend that money we earn. And we work with some of the best people on the planet, even if the Companies and their management structures leave a lot to be desired. I hope you enjoy it and find it interesting.

In her will, she leave money for her “dumb” man to assure Shaksper’s silence. Included is her relationship with John Overall, one of the King James Bible translators. Clues of Ely and Edward’s collaboration are left behind in Psalms 46.

Following a business career, Deena Lindstedt became a full time student at Marylhurst university in Portland, Oregon graduating with a BA in English Literature and Writing. During her Shakespeare class, she loved the plays and sonnets, and was intrigued with the authorship question. She was certain a woman must have had a hand in writing the plays since so many of the roles had strong female characters. She learned the leading candidate of authorship was Edward de Vere, the Seventeen Earl of Oxford, but he died in 1604, whereas new plays were written and produced for eight more years. However, his second wife, Elizabeth Trentham, didn’t die until 1612, the same year Shakespeare retired. Believing this had to be more than a coincidence, she decided to do her own independent research into Elizabeth’s life, thus became the inspiration for her novel, Lady of the Play.

Deena is a widow living in Tigard, Oregon. She has three sons and nine grandchildren. Her other literary honors include her first book, Deception Cove, a romantic suspense novel, third place winner for a poem: Two Ladies of Chedigny for Willamette Writers, Portland. Finalist for a short story, Simply to Fly for NW Writers Association contest in Seattle. Blessed with the ability to mangle the English language, Olive Winterleaf has no idea what she is writing and admits to making it up as she goes along.

The idea of Tales Of Nonagon came to her when it was discovered that a microscopic lesion in the shape of a nonagon had lodged under one of her fingernails. A closer inspection revealed that this ‘nonagon’ harboured a population of biscuit crumbs. This inspired her to write complete drivel.

Later, she discovered that the biscuit crumbs were running an illegal gambling club from her fingernail. This inspired The Nonagon Mob – a sequel to the Tales Of Nonagon trilogy.

Then she noticed that some of the biscuit crumbs had packed their little suitcases and had moved out. This spawned House Of Multiple Nonagons.

Naturally, the biscuit crumbs were soon redecorating, thus inspiring Nine And A Half Glimpses Of Nonagon.

She has written seven books, set in the non-existent city of Nonagon or thereabouts. They are all set in the decades that style ignored and feature the fictitious city of Nonagon, where the sun never sets and all shall be forever well. She took a brief detour with ‘don’t buy this book: it’s complete noctambulist’, an experiment in how not to publish a book.

Her seventh creation, The Sword In The Carrot, is set approximately in medieval Nonagon.

Hawking and his companions experience three encounters with individuals they believe to be the true “celestials” of ancient legends. The encounters revealed in this book, insofar as extensive research indicates, have no counterpart in available world literature. The underlying concepts are present in a few profound literatures, but no detailed description of a true encounter with the Ri-iha-mo, the legendary Himalayan celestial goddesses, or “mountain goddesses,” as the Tibetan term translates. Such accounts may exist, but have apparently remained sealed.
Who—or what—are the Ri-iha-mo? Throughout Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, and the Himalayan regions of India, there has endured an extraordinary ancient legend of “celestial” beings, the Ri-iha-mo, who, having arrived in an antediluvian era of prehistory, still dwell in a concealed inner region of the vast frozen fortress of the Himalayas. The earliest known reference to the celestials appears in extant fragments of the scriptures of the 4000 year-old pre-Tibetan Zhang Zhung culture of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, yet those texts refer in turn to writings several thousand years older than themselves, and additional references can be found in a number of ancient writings, and in the wisdom traditions of cultures throughout Asia.
The creation stories of cultures worldwide relate that their progenitors came from the sky, the stars, or the heavens. Ancient Egyptian texts speak of their “bringers of knowledge” coming from Orion and Sirius. Native Americans recount that their antecedents were the “Sky People” or “Star People.” Throughout South America there exists a richly analogous storehouse of legends describing the arrival of “Star Beings.”
The builders of Teotihuacan describe their gods as having descended from the heavens. The pre-Tibetan culture, the Mayan, the pre-Incan, the Sumerian, and so many others, all express the same story in diverse symbolic languages—their “gods” came from the stars, bringing advanced knowledge and the gift of civilization. Many of these cultures were greatly separated both geographically and chronologically, yet their creation stories are strikingly similar and, in some cases, essentially identical.
The B’on theogony of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau’s ancient Zhang Zhung culture relates that their “king of the gods” arrived from the emptiness of space in a “resplendent jeweled egg” of “lha of bright light,” at which time “in the sky there appeared dazzling lights, melodious sounds in space, and many other wonderful occurrences.”
Are these ubiquitous traditions merely myths? Are they simply embellished legends passed down through generations beyond count? Or are they representative of some vaguely remembered and carefully preserved reality? Absent an ember, there can be no smoke; there is a kernel of truth in all such enduring creation stories and, especially in light of today’s astronomical knowledge, they cannot be easily, or wisely, dismissed.

Young Martin is your average 9-year-old boy, just one who happens to frequent graveyards and reads books about spells and monsters. He happens upon one such spell book and finds a spell that allows him to bring back the dead, and the one he brings back is one Young Miss Victoria Blackwell.

Miss Blackwell had no real friends to speak of when she were alive so she had to make ones out of her own imagination. The problem was no one else could see them. With Martin’s Book of the Occult, though, that was a problem of the past. There just so happened to be a spell capable making her friends visible to the rest of the world. It also just so happened that her friends are real monsters with particular peculiarities.

A new problem arises when Miss Blackwell’s now visible friends are set loose on the town one Halloween night causing all sorts of trouble for Martin and Victoria.

Author Bio:
K. N. Parker is a simple AWARD-WINNING author in his thirties, and was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He has three self-published works which, for the most part, people think are pretty nifty.

He shares heritages with two countries: America and Japan, and he spends his time between the two whenever possible. When in his late teens he thought it proper to teach himself Japanese, and so he did, and now can communicate with you in two ways, if applicable. When not writing or creating trouble in various coffee shops throughout the world, he enjoys graphic design, television, film, and absurdist, subtle, and very sarcastic comedy.

Author Bio:
John Tuttle was born and grew up in a close-knit rural community of immediate family members. As a firstborn, he learned to play by himself until the age of six.

Tuttle began his education in a white weatherboard two-room schoolhouse in eastern Kentucky where the Bluegrass kisses Appalachia. At first, he was an average student with no defining talents. Tuttle became a late academic bloomer during middle and high school and attended Centre College in Kentucky. He received a doctorate at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, completing residency training in urology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Later he participated in a men’s sexual medicine fellowship training at Boston University and was a charter member of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH). As a private practitioner, he was the medical director of several FDA clinical research trials. He continues practicing as a Fellow providing the healing science and art in matters of sexual health to men, women, and partners.
