   J. L. Ficks graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in English Studies. He worked as a freelance writer and ghostwriter for six years. He now works as a catastrophe adjuster and spends his spare time working on his own writing during low storm activity periods. He is married and has a son and a daughter.

   J.E. Dugue currently resides in Chicago with his wife Lindsey and their cat Diesel. He is a professional musician, a coffee and beer connoisseur, and spends most hours writing stories and music. He is married and has one son.

   Author Bio:
   Asher grew up in rural West Texas. Attended the School of Visual Arts in NYC. Taught at the Famous Artists Schools in Westport, CT. Was a staff illustrator at Weekly Reader until he quit to freelance. He designed and built a two-story 2300 sq. ft. house, doing all the work himself. In 1994, Asher moved back to his homeland in Austin, Texas. He has done some acting, both movies and commercials, but spends most of his time tinkering with words.

   I worked at the world’s largest book retailer for five years and The Thin Green Line is based on my experiences there. The stories are all true and the characters are based on real people. However, as the saying goes, names have been changed to protect the innocent.

   It is my hope that the book will be enjoyed by those who influenced it and perhaps some lessons learned by the customers and others who find themselves in bookstores and any retail establishment. Maybe people will finally begin to understand retail workers are more than just mindless cashiers or shelfstockers. They’re people, actual and whole. More than you know.

   Author Bio:
   Jesse L. Byers was born in Norfolk, Virginia. He grew up poor and struggled for acceptance and survival in low income housing and inner city schools. Escaping the downward spiral of his surroundings he relocated to Los Angeles in his teens and held a variety of retail jobs before becoming an ordained minister like so many other mail order screwballs and finally publishing his novels. He dabbled in politics, volunteering on local and presidential campaigns and running for office himself. These days he resides in the suburbs of Los Angeles and having left religion, writing and politics in the past he prefers to keep a low profile, maintain his library and do what so many others should do–live each day to the fullest.
