1. Where’s Audrey?

   About Where’s Audrey?:

   Audrey has disappeared. Her sister, Grace, spoke to her three months ago, but hasn’t heard from her since. Where could she be?

   Graces’s great-granddaughter, Mel, hasn’t had a vacation in three years. The last thing she wants to do it go to Florida to check on her great-aunt, but Nana Grace has been good to her, so she agrees to fly to Florida and check up on Audrey. She plans to stop by Audrey’s mobile home first thing, then go to a friend’s condo on Clearwater Beach for Christmas. A great plan – until a young man, Jason, opens the door to Audrey’s mobile home. He’s too young to be living in an over fifty-five park, and Mel doesn’t buy his story that Audrey is on a cruise to Europe.

   Mel drives away from the mobile home. She is unsure what to do next, and then she drives past the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. She decides to file a missing person’s report, but she is told there is a forty-eight hour waiting period. Fortunately, a handsome deputy, Conner O’Keefe, senses Mel’s apprehension and agrees to go to the mobile home with her to question the young man.

   When Jason shows Conner a letter from Audrey stating he has her permission to be there, there is little the deputy can do. He promises Mel he will do what he can, and he asks her out to dinner. Mel, who hasn’t been out on a date in a long time, is surprised, but puts him off. She is worried about Audrey and accepting a date, especially from the deputy investigating her disappearance, feels wrong. Still, he is nice to look at, and as they work together gathering clues and following their instincts, their attraction to each other grows.

   With the records in the sheriff’s database, Conner is able to find Jason’s arrest record. He also finds out that Jason may have been in cahoots with his father to bilk Audrey out of her home and her money. Conner begins to fear that something terrible has happened to Audrey and is determined to find her.
