   Bettye DeLoach Presley is a native of southeast Arkansas. She spent forty-three years of her life in the noblest of all professions. She retired first in 1991 and again in 2011.

   Her career in education permitted her to serve as a classroom teacher, a literacy coach,a Ninth Grade Academy Coordinator and an Adult Education Teacher/Site Coordinator. She shared her expertise in the Dermott School District in Dermott, Arkansas, the East Carroll Parish School District in Lake Providence, Louisiana and the Eudora School District in her hometown.

   Her love for poetry prompted her to begin writing poems in the early 1990′s. In 2006, she was given the opportunity to publish fifteen of her poems when she co-authored Guaranteed to Cut & Soothe written by Razors & Bandaids, a local poetry guild.
