- Goodbye Junie Moon by June Collins
An Australian girl from a middle class background aspires to nothing other than to marry and have children. Alas, her plans go astray. She marries a sheep farmer at eighteen and soon becomes pregnant. Over the next three years she bears three children but all die. Lonely on the isolated farm and depressed, she runs away.
She starts her new life as a ballroom dancing instructor but soon becomes a Jazz dancer in night-clubs. Eventually she receives contracts to dance in all the major cities of Asia. When the Vietnam war starts she travels there to entertain the troops. At first it is all adventure and adrenalin flow but as she later said, ” she stayed too long at the war.” During her three and a half years in Vietnam she became a booking agent for Philippine rock bands.
The laughter stopped as she saw more and more maimed and dead young GI’s. Compounding her pain were the crooked army sergeants who took over the American NCO and EM clubs. They demanded kickbacks from everyone who did business with them. The contrast between them and the young fighting men sickened her. Unable to remain quiet any longer, she reported them to the CID ( military police investigators). Expecting them to be relieved and court martialed – she was shocked when instead, they continued happily on, getting rich. She was even more shocked after discovering that a price was now on her head and Tan Son Nhut, the only airport out, was being watched. This could have had a disastrous ending but fate stepped in.

June Collins made world headlines when she testified before a U.S, Senate Committee about corruption in the Army NCO and EM clubs. As a result of her testimony heads rolled, including that of a major ( 2 star) general. She collaborated on a fictionalized version of those events with Robin Moore ( author, the French Connection and The Green Beret) when they wrote The Khaki Mafia.
During her time in Asia she had been appalled by the number of orphans she had seen on the streets and she determined to take one or two of them. After many obstacles and further adventures, she ends up with six children from four countries.
The children are now grown and she has time to write. Goodbye Junie Moon is a true story as is the sequel, Junie Moon Rising.

- Becoming Magic: A Course in Manifesting an Exceptional Life
About Becoming Magic: A Course in Manifesting an Exceptional Life:Becoming Magic is book one of a complete course in becoming creator of your own exceptional life. In this book, I outline the exact steps which enabled me to move my own life from one of poverty and drudgery, to one of previously unimaginable wealth, purpose and joy.
‘But Magic? I do hope you are joking!’
That’s what I would have said, five or ten years ago. I once despised all things ‘New-Age’, all these spiritual types and their airy-fairy views, their bad science and their irrational beliefs.
I read all the greats, Wallace Wattles, Anthony Robbins, Rhonda Byrne, Napoleon Hill, Esther Hicks and Wayne Dyer. But no matter how closely I followed their instructions, I couldn’t make it work.
It was only when I recognised, accepted and finally embraced that what I was doing was actually some kind of Magic that suddenly things began to fall into place. Once I realised that the power came from within me, it was as if the light had suddenly been switched on.
If you’re jaded by the whole New Age Law of Attraction idea, have become bored by its failure to deliver… this book is for you. It is my intention to lead you by the hand through a marvellous journey of wonder and adventure.
Part one of this course, Becoming Magic, lays the groundwork for becoming a magical person, while part two, Doing Magic, offers concrete techniques and instructions for bringing wonderful things into your life. The plan is to build your knowledge slowly, gradually, building on what has gone before, moving on to more complex techniques only once the basics are mastered.
So many people fail with Magic and the Law of Attraction because they rush headlong into using techniques, trying to create enormous manifestations, making very simple but crucial mistakes. When they are disappointed, they imagine they have been duped. The sceptics are right. This is all a load of scammy nonsense. And they give up, declaring that it just doesn’t work.
I am telling you that it does work. Andyou can make it work. And this book will show you how.
My intention is that this book will allow you to become a true creator of your own life, reawakening and rekindling your belief and interest in The Law of Attraction, Reality Creation, Cosmic Ordering or whatever you wish to call it.
I prefer simply to call it Magic.

- I Bring the Fire Part I: Wolves (A Loki Story)
About I Bring the Fire Part I: Wolves (A Loki Story):In the middle of America, on Route 44, Amy Lewis has a plan — to get to her grandma’s house in time for dinner. She’s being pursued by a very bad wolf.
Galaxies away Loki is waking up in a prison cell, strangely without a hangover, and with no idea what he’s done wrong — this time anyway. But he does know Thor is hiding something, Odin is up to something wicked, and there seems to be something he’s forgotten…
In this tale that is equal parts “Another Fine Myth,” “American Gods,” and “Once Upon a Time,” a very nice midwestern girl and a jaded, still very mischievous Loki must join forces to outwit gods, elves, magic sniffing cats, and nosy neighbors. If Loki can remember exactly what he’s forgotten and Amy can convince him not to be too distracted by Earthly gadgets, her boobs, or three day benders, they just might pull it off…
This first installment of “I Bring the Fire” is for anyone who suspects chaos and mischief makers might have their own redeeming qualities, and anyone who just wants a good fantasy romp through modern Earth, ancient Asgard, and beyond!

C. Gockel got her start writing fanfiction, and she is not ashamed! Much. She received emails, messages and reviews from her fans telling her she should ‘do this professionally’. She didn’t; because she is a coward and life as a digital designer, copywriter and coder is more dependable. But in the end, her husband’s nagging wore her down: “You could be the next ’50 Shades of Gray’ and I could retire!” Unfortunately, the author isn’t much for writing smut. She is sad about this; she’d love for her husband to be able to retire and just work for her so she could nag him.At the moment, Ms. Gockel is working on the next installment of “I Bring the Fire”.

Goodreads Profile PageAuthor Bio:
As a child, growing up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, I always knew that I wanted to be a cop from a very young age. While in college, majoring in Political Science and Law Enforcement, I was asked if I wanted to take the test to be a Deputy U.S. Marshal. (Most of us hired had never heard of the Marshal’s, except on television’s Gun Smoke. A common joke at the academy was, ‘I didn’t know how to spell it, now I is one.’ It’s funny because most of us spelled Marshal, as Marshall, until hired. And yes, the grammatical error is on purpose) I was hired, to be a Deputy U.S. Marshal, in June of 1984 and was posted to my home town of Cedar Rapids, Iowa (extremely unusual and rare. A deputy had just been fired days before I was to be hired). During my 27 years I have hauled hundreds, if not thousands, of prisoners to penal institutions. I have seized everything from race horse to million dollar farms and jets. I have protected Judges at every level, including Supreme Court Justices. I have protect some of the most famous and notorious witnesses in the U.S., all without incident. And, finally, have arrested hundreds of fugitives over the course of my career. The idea for the main character came to me one day as I was walking into the local county jail to pick a prisoner up. The name, Jake Mathews, popped into my head and stayed there for twenty years, until I finally wrote it down on paper, and created this Novel. I’ve had a blast with this first novel and hope to write many more in this series. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.Catch Me If You Dare. is a post from Awesome Gang
- A Provencal Mystery
Why did a nun in a seventeenth-century convent flagellate herself until her blood spattered the wall? Why did nuns save a child doomed to death in the Holocaust and who wanted her killed? Who wants a lost head-shaped reliquary that holds something other than a head? And are answers to these questions the key to a terrible modern-day death in a quiet archive?
When American historian Pandora (Dory) Ryan finds a very rare, uncataloged seventeenth century nun’s diary inside a record book at the provincial archives in Avignon, she is thrilled. This is historian’s treasure. But she doesn’t know yet that it will send her on a search that brings about changes in how she feels about her profession, the irrational, and love with a sexy Frenchman. And it will take her from the archive on a dangerous adventure into the countryside of Provence, which, beautiful as it is, has a long and bloody history.
The archive’s dramatis personae: the grumpy archivist, with his paper-clip chains; the gofer, who smokes Gauloises and gets away with far too much; a nun with a sense of humor who harangues high school kids about sex; the nun’s glamorous sidekick; a famous American historian, whose requests for documents are inexplicably denied; the eminent professor, destined to fall in love; his nervous graduate student. And that sexy Frenchman, who isn’t who he says he is.

Goodreads Profile PageAuthor Bio:
Ann Elwood lives in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California, with six cats, a desert tortoise, seven box turtles, and a German shepherd, Louis. She grew up in Saddle River, New Jersey. After college, she taught elementary school for a few miserable years, then moved to the Philadelphia area and landed a job as a typist-clerk at the Philadelpha Bulletin. When her boss discovered she had difficulty typing up circulation figures with twelve carbons, she was fired and found another job writing copy for a paternalistic insurance company that offered a low salary and delicious free lunch. One of the typesetters had the magical ability to square up a stack of paper into a perfect cube. Eventually she moved to a studio apartment on Irving Place in New York City, and, after a few months of writing copy for a textbook company, went on to freelance as a writer of anything anyone would pay her for. In 1967, she moved to Los Angeles, where she was advertising manager for a publishing company. Then the West Coast was a mecca for writers and adventurers. Within a couple of years, she visited a Malibu beach house, fell in love (long-distance) with Bob Dylan, met Thomas Pynchon (he wouldn’t remember it), and saw Hair. In 1972, she returned to freelancing. The following year she moved to Cardiff. She wrote articles for Irving Wallace and his son, David Wallichinsky, (People’s Almanac and Book of Lists), and did other wonderful things she won’t mention here. With Carol Orsag Madigan, she wrote several non-fiction books. A desire to delve more deeply into ideas finally drove her to graduate school in 1981. Her dissertation focused on an order of 17th and 18th century French nuns so she had to spend a happy year in France doing research. While not in the archives, she drank local wine with fellow historians and traveled the country with her dog, Puppy, who had far less trouble than she did communicating with the French. Now, she teaches history part-time at California State University, San Marcos, spends time with Louis and the other animals, and writes the books she has always wanted to write but never had the time for.A Provencal Mystery is a post from Awesome Gang
