I am your definitive average Josephine in most aspects of my life, which is probably why I love to read and I love to write. When reading I can become whoever I like, and I have been Bella, Katniss, and sometimes Voldemort when my sons leave their boxers on a wet bathroom floor! Such is the power concealed within the pages of your favourite novel; it is escapism, fantasy and sometimes educational, if you care to take in the political, moral or self-help aspect of your non-fiction read. It’s all good, and my love of reading is what prompted me to have a go at writing myself.I have been a Finance Clerk in the past, which is a constant source of mystery to me because I’m beyond useless at Maths? I was 18-24 years old then so maybe I had a few more logical brain cells at the time, which my disintegrating middle-aged memory has forgotten? I have worked in retail, merchandising and sales, but the only job that comes close to the satisfaction of writing is working with special needs children and young adults; the most gifted and loving people in the world!
Lack of confidence and fear of rejection stopped me from following my dream to be a writer for so many years, but I finally risked being booed, jeered and slated by readers (which is what I had convinced myself would happen) in 2012. Well, what a surprise! That didn’t happen! I’ve had bad reviews, of course I have, but they are necessary to improve my writing, and they also prove to the reader that the 5 star reviews are valid. So far, touch wood, so many more good reviews than bad, but what surprised me was that I didn’t crumple into despair and give up after my first 3 star critical review. I took on board what was said in the review and analysed the part of my writing she was referring to. The review taught me something about the wants and needs of the people reading my style and genre of book; that’s how it works and it is all a learning curve.
I don’t really know what else to tell you, except that I have three terrific kids, two cats, and a love of swimming, pin-pong, and am the family destroyer of goods, in that oven doors fall off at my touch, dinners fall into peoples’ laps and mascara sticks frequently give me a bruised and red-eye! I guess I am a bit clumsy!

Desire and Prejudice is much more than the rest of them; it tells a realistic, believable story that readers haven’t heard before.
Mixing cultural differences with love is common. But the way the story portrays a burning love so deep that Jasmine and Adam are willing to give up everything to be with one another, but each afraid to take the relationship further, will keeps you in suspense throughout the story.
