   It’s National Take Your Kids to Work Day and Tyger Pants, a typical 10 year old boy, should be looking forward to a day off school. But unfortunately his dad isn’t a cool fire fighter and his mum isn’t a policewoman. His dad’s a librarian – DULL!

   What Tyger doesn’t know is that what he thinks is just a cool phone, is actually an Editor: a top secret device used by the Library Service to keep the plots and characters in the stories of all the books in the library in order. If the Librarians didn’t keep a constant watch the stories would soon all leak into each other, characters would go missing and bad guys would win. In a word: chaos.

   Author Bio:
   As a child I was a reluctant reader. I didn’t see it as reluctance, I just didn’t see the point: there were comics and a picture is worth a thousand words right?

   I am now an avid reader and regret missing out on so many good stories as a child. Fortunately, with children of my own, I’m now managing to catch up, reading stories to them every night before bed.

   There isn’t anything quite like a good book to let you escape from the world for a while. True, films are great, but they don’t engage you as much as a book. A well written book will get your imagination working, filling the story with colour and energy: a film is a depiction of somebody else’s imagination.

   In fact, I enjoy reading stories to my children so much, I started to write my own. And bearing in mind my own reluctance to read as a child I have written them to be as engaging as possible, to draw the reluctant reader into a land of imagination and discovery.

   Author Bio:
   Asher grew up in rural West Texas. Worked grunt jobs for Dallas Power & Light, US Gypsum, Bruno’s shipyard, and Gulf Oil pipeline. Moved to NYC and worked as a layout artist for JCPenney catalog while attending the School of Visual Arts nights. Taught at the Famous Artists Schools in Westport, CT, and was a staff illustrator at Weekly Reader until he quit to freelance. After his house burned down with all of his paintings, he designed and built a two-story 2300 sq. ft. house on the old foundation, doing all the work himself. Some years later, Asher moved to Austin, Texas, where he has done some acting, both movies and commercials, but spends most of his time tinkering with words. At the moment, he’s working on a huge saga that ranges from the Midland, Texas, oil patch in the late 1950s, to Dallas, New York and the art world of the ’60s, southern Louisiana, and the seedy underbelly of Acuña, Mexico.
