Chosen as the Keeper of Humanity she is racing the Fallen that will stop at nothing to destroy her. Malach is chosen to protect and train her, she should not have feelings for him; she fights it every day. Malach is an archangel chosen as the Guardian of Hope. His promise was to protect and guide her. He never understood why his brother chose to fall, until he looked into her blue eyes. Trouble is brewing amongst the angels. Some feel that humanity is the problem, but Malach knows the truth. I am Lynn Landes, happily married mother of three from Lake Wylie, South Carolina. Thank you for reading my debut novel, “The Angel’s Covenant.” I have been writing poetry and short stories all of my life. In fact this book began as a poem for my husband for valentine’s day. It soon took on a life of its own and I decided to “follow the thread,” and take a chance. I hope you enjoyed the story. You can write to me at:

  2. Manifestations: Life after Death

    manifestations_coverAbout Manifestations: Life after Death:

For Like-Minds who wonder, why they’re here and where they go after they die…

Manifestations, Life after Death takes you on a journey into this afterlife. It explores a new plight of existence, an existence that presents complex challenges; challenges that cannot be mirrored on Earth.

    The Narrator

It begins with its narrator who is clearly a higher power: God, Allah, JA, Yahweh, Jehovah, The Great Spirit, Amen, etc.

The narrator does not dwell on that; for clearly, as you will read, it is beneath it to mention; for the logic of the narrator cuts through the concept of true religion and traditional worship.

Once the deity establishes itself, you will find yourself giving it leeway to discover what new scientific or spiritual information it has to offer.

The narrator does not let down.

    Author Bio:
When writing Manifestations, Life after Death, I was at a cross roads in my life. I was wondering what was next. Why am I here? Where do I go once I leave this plain of existence?

Unlike most people, to these questions, I felt I knew the answers. The answers were in my subconscious, tracing back to when I was sixteen years old. The first time I had come in contact with another realm of existence; my first experience with death.

  4. Nameless, Blameless Reproduction

    nameless_blame_less_ebook_copyAbout Nameless, Blameless Reproduction:

Nameless, Blameless Reproduction is about an obstetrician-gynecologist who adopts a baby with HIV and seeks to cure the infant through a stem cell donation from an individual lacking the CCR5 receptor, also her brother.

    ***

Nameless, Blameless Reproduction dives into the desire of motherhood,

from the depths of infertility and loneliness, to the instinct to cradle and

    protect a baby.

One night while on call, an obstetrician-gynecologist performs an

emergency cesarean section on an HIV-positive woman. The baby,

born with the disease, soon becomes an orphan when her mother dies,

leaving no other family to care for the newborn female.

Suffering from infertility and undiagnosed depression, the ob-gyn

decides to adopt the baby and enlists a lawyer specializing in

adoption for non-traditional families. Desperate, driven, and with the

help of her hospital community, she fosters the infant and names her

    Hope.

The ob-gyn’s brother, who recently lost his partner to HIV, moves

in to welcome the new baby home and assist in caring for her. Hope

becomes sick, giving her new mother and uncle what seems to be an

insurmountable obstacle. With not much to go on but the slimmest of

chances, the brother and sister move ever forward, determined to see

that the newest addition to their family lives. In so doing, they open up

a healing process that just may save their own lives as well.

Exploring highly charged, emotional terrain without names or labels,

the story precludes the blame and judgment so often associated with

issues like this and instead puts laser focus on this transformative human

    journey to stunning effect.

  5. Rebel With a Gun

    Rebel-with-a-Gun-cover-finalAbout Rebel With a Gun:

He was fifteen when the Civil War started, nineteen when it ended. His parents were dead by then, their farm sold for the taxes. The girl he loved had married a boy he hated. Nothing seemed right.

So he headed for Texas with a disreputable old snake oil peddler and a beautiful blonde with a jealous husband and a dangerous secret that could get them all killed.

Even though he had ridden with Quantrill and Bloody Bill, he was not like the others. Many of them were not the only bushwhackers who flourished during the war. Men just like them had waved the Union flag and used it to cloak their crimes, and now that the fighting was over not all of them would be content to lay down their arms and return to their former pursuits. Some, like their southern counterparts, would become outlaws. Many on both sides had never been anything else, and for them the war had just been a continuation of a life of lawlessness and violence. Now they would use the unsettled conditions in the wake of the war to camouflage their activities.

Of course, many would go west, especially to Texas. For years men had been going to Texas who were wanted or not wanted in other states. There was a well-known saying— “Gone to Texas.” It usually applied to men who had gone there a jump ahead of the law.

Warning: Reading a Van Holt western may make you want to get on a horse and hunt some bad guys down in the Old West. Of course, the easiest and most enjoyable way to do it is vicariously—by reading another Van Holt western.

Van Holt writes westerns the way they were meant to be written.

What some reviewers have to say about Van Holt’s writing:

“I had a feeling that Van Holt…might actually be the successor to Zane Gray, a master Western storysmith, whose novels set the style of a generation.” –Stern0

“Van Holt is King of the Spaghetti Western…” –Rarebird1

Van Holt wrote his first western when he was in high school and sent it to a literary agent, who soon returned it, saying it was too long but he would try to sell it if Holt would cut out 16,000 words. Young Holt couldn’t bear to cut out any of his perfect western, so he threw it away and started writing another one.

A draft notice interrupted his plans to become the next Zane Grey or Louis L’Amour. A tour of duty as an MP stationed in South Korea was pretty much the usual MP stuff except for the time he nabbed a North Korean spy and had to talk the dimwitted desk sergeant out of letting the guy go. A briefcase stuffed with drawings of U.S. aircraft and the like only caused the overstuffed lifer behind the counter to rub his fat face, blink his bewildered eyes, and start eating a big candy bar to console himself. Imagine Van Holt’s surprise a few days later when he heard that same dumb sergeant telling a group of new admirers how he himself had caught the famous spy one day when he was on his way to the mess hall.

Holt says there hasn’t been too much excitement since he got out of the army, unless you count the time he was attacked by two mean young punks and shot one of them in the big toe. Holt believes what we need is punk control, not gun control.

After traveling all over the West and Southwest in an aging Pontiac, Van Holt got tired of traveling the day he rolled into Tucson and he has been there ever since, still dreaming of becoming the next Zane Grey or Louis L’Amour when he grows up. Or maybe the next great mystery writer. He likes to write mysteries when he’s not too busy writing westerns or eating Twinkies.

Warning: Reading a Van Holt western may make you want to get on a horse and hunt some bad guys down in the Old West. Of course, the easiest and most enjoyable way to do it is vicariously—by reading another Van Holt western.
