  1. CRIES IN THE NIGHT, A DENVER AFTER DARK SUSPENSE
"Kathy Clark's first 23 romance/women's fiction novels (published by Harlequin, Dell and several others) have sold more than 3.2 million copies globally in at least 11 different languages and are currently available as ebooks. Her books have appeared on the New York Times and USA Today Recommended lists and have received numerous industry awards including Romantic Times Readers' Choice Awards and local and national awards. After several years of writing screenplays and teaching advanced level college classes on Media Writing, she returned to novels with new skills, insight and storytelling capabilities. Kathy Clark still writes adult books but now they suspense with sparks of romance. Denver After Dark is a suspense series about three brothers: a cop, a fireman and a paramedic. Book #1 ""After Midnight"" is about the cop and was released in November, 2012. Book #2 ""Cries in the Night"" is about the fireman and will be released in late fall, 2013. ""After Midnight"" won The Best Indie Book of 2013 award and is a finalist in the Reader's Favorite awards in 2013. Under the pen name of Bob Kat, Kathy also writes with husband, Bob Wernly. Bob Kat started in late 2012 with the publication of ""OMG"" (Oh My God). This was the first in their new young adult CUL8R Time Travel Mystery series. ""BRB"" is a Finalist in the Reader's Favorite Awards with winners to be announced in September. Also in late 2012, Bob Kat published a New Adult Romance that takes place in 1969 - 70. ""Life's What Happens"" is unique in that it is one of the few New Adult novels to not be set in present day but is contemporary is very respect. The story centers on the tumultuous times of 1969 and 1970 at Kent State University and how the students dealt with the issues and changes of the times. There is also a New Adult series being launched in early fall called SCANDALS. Look for book #1 ""Baby Daddy"" to break open this exciting new genre. "

  3. Tristan Wolf by Mariana Llanos
I am Mariana Llanos and I write poetry and short stories since I was very young. Although Tristan Wolf is my first published book it's been named a FINALIST of the 2013 Readers' Favorite Awards in the 4th to 6th Grade Category. I have many other stories that will soon be out as well, including the second book for Tristan Wolf. I live in Oklahoma, with my husband and three children. I studied Drama and currently work at a preschool where I likes to motive children through arts and music. I also enjoy plastic arts and drawing. I started doing paper mache when I was around 18 years old. It's a medium that I love to use to create unique pieces for my home. I am fond of anything that has to do with arts and since young I've tried several ways of self-expression, but definitely writing is the most innate to me. When I was a child I always wanted to be a painter (artist) and paint blue skies, flowers and animals. I also wanted to be a movie director and tell compelling stories that would change the world. I believe in kindness and compassion. If you are genuinely generous, then generosity will find you back. I believe that the world is one, and no matter where you are from, children have the same dreams all around. I hope my books are successful and show my children that Mama's hard work and determination paid back. I hope my books put a smile in people's hearts and, who knows, smile by smile, make this Earth a better place to live. I also blog at http://marianallanosauthor.blogspot.com
  4. Doubt by Anne-Rae Vasquez, book 1 of the Among Us Trilogy
Anne-Rae Vasquez is releasing Doubt, Book 1 of the Among Us Trilogy on November 13, 2013. Among Us is a book series about a group of online gamers who band together to investigate who or what is behind the catastrophic events happening around the world. Her novel Almost a Turkish Soap Opera was adapted into a screenplay and later produced into an award winning feature film and web series and was her directorial debut. Her other works include: Gathering Dust - a collection of poems, Salha's Secrets to Middle Eastern Cooking Cookbook published by AR Publishing Inc. and Teach Yourself Great Web Design in a Week, published by Sams.net (a division of Macmillan Publishing). A note from the author...What's behind the story of your book "Doubt"? I wrote the first chapter after I woke up from a dream with a vivid image of the beginning of the end of the world. It was so clear in my mind that it frightened me. The only thing that gave me hope was that in the same dream, there was a group of young people who risked their lives banding together to try and save the world. Perhaps my dream was inspired by what I've seen in the news where young people around the world are fighting back against their governments' oppressive policies. This wave of 'Truth Seekers' is evident with the recent "Arab Spring" and other youth led revolutionary protests and peaceful activism against governments who resort to terror and bloodshed to suppress their voices. The book is also a tribute to two real truth seekers, Aaron Swartz and Harry Fear. When I was shaping the main character Harry Doubt, I was inspired by Aaron Swartz, an internet prodigy who contributed to the open source movement. I also was inspired by Harry Fear's courageous coverage of the conflict in the Middle East. I have taken this same theme of Truth Seeking and applied it to the fictional story 'Doubt'.
  5. Serving Time by Nadine Ducca

I currently live in Barcelona, Catalonia, although I’m originally from sunny southern California. I work with computers and books all day, which means my ophthalmologist isn’t too happy with my eye care habits. Science fiction has been my passion ever since one of my father’s friends introduced me to Red Dwarf at the age of 12. Making up stories has been my passion for as long as I remember, so it was only a matter of time until my two favorite things met and had a love child called “Serving Time.” A hopeless lover of anything and everything containing chocolate, I live with my fiancé and three cats, and I have recurring nightmares involving very big and very white public restrooms.
