Where Awesome Book Readers Meet Awesome Writers

  1. Eye of the Beholder by Jackie Weger

I’ve been writing romance novels off and on for thirty years. In between books, I’ve had the good fortune to travel to many interesting and exotic locales from London and Paris to Panama, Cuba and Costa Rica. I’ve sailed on a twenty-nine foot sloop in the Pacific, volunteered at a Sisters of Mercy Mission in Colon, canoed on the Big East River in the wilds of Canada and lived part of a winter with trappers in the Louisiana swamps—collecting memories, friends and experiences—which oft times make appearances in my novels. I once was married, but now I’m not. I began a university career at the age of sixty-two and was utterly fortunate to get accepted into a Study Abroad program my senior year—at Queens’ College, London University. The best thing about travelling this good earth by air, truck, boat, mule and foot is all of the wonderful people I've met along the way--from docents in St. Paul's Cathedral in London to trappers in the Louisiana swamps. All of whom who were decent, hard-working folk and more than kind to a curious and weary traveler.

  2. Taylor Made Owens

Novelist ROBERT POWER was born in Canada, but raised and educated in the United States. He stayed in university so long, Berkeley eventually gave him a PhD to get rid of him. Working as a consultant from home, he drove his wife crazy until he took up writing fiction in his too-ample spare time. Neither he nor his wife know what they were thinking when they decided to have four children, but they're happy they do--most days. They live in southern Ontario. Visit his website: rdpower.ca.

  3. Call of the Herald by Brian Rathbone

Brian Rathbone is a former horse trainer turned technology turned fantasy writer. When Brian isn't writing fiction or code, he's usually out trying to figure out how to get rural areas better broadband Internet access. The Godsland fantasy series was inspired greatly by Rathbone's years training horses as well as his love for reading fantasy fiction. Events from his real life are woven into the books, and some of the characters are inspired by animals he worked with.

  4. And Now We Were Three by Selima Gurtler

Selima Gurtler founded the East Meets West Peace Foundation in 2000 as a non-profit organization for people of cross-cultural heritage. It is a spiritual movement, forum and oasis for discussion and dissemination of the profound inner soul challenges encountered by people who are born into cross-cultured families. Under the wisdom and guidance of the Founder, through her writings and spiritual observations, EmW’s mission is to transmute the minds of these unique souls into a higher state of realization and self-discovery, to ascend into their greatness enabling them to reach out to the world as the authentic and world peacemakers whom humanity urgently summons. 5. Thirty Scary Tales

Rayne Hall is the author of over forty books, mostly fantasy and horror. She lives in a small dilapidated seaside town of former Victorian grandeur on the south coast of England. Rural cemeteries with lichen-encrusted tombstones, ancient stone circles, mediaeval castle ruins, roiling seas and wave-lashed cliffs provide her with the perfect inspiration for her dark and creepy stories.

  6. Anglers Guide to Shore Fishing Southwest Florida by Les and Kimball Beery

Les grew up in Orlando, Florida and was practically born with a fishing rod in his hand. Kimball grew up in Boulder, Colorado and began catching trout at a very young age. Their lives together have always included fishing wherever a rainbow or redfish might be found. [They’re actually a little weird about it!] While fishing Florida’s southwest coast for many years and the high lakes and streams of Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado for forty short summers there, they answered lots of questions about fishing in both these popular destinations. So, why not write a series of books for visiting anglers? These books would answer the same questions that they had encountered for years on the trails and beaches.

  7. Get Clean

Jams N. Roses is a father of one and grew up in Hertfordshire, England. He has spent a few years living on the Costa del Sol, Spain, and currently resides in Nice, France. He primarily writes novels that are steeped in crime with a psychological twist, but has a naughty sense of humour that can sneak its way into his work, so much so that his third of four releases, Extremely England is a hilarious, satirical comedy. IMPORTANT NOTE: Books by Jams N. Roses are rude, crude and brutally honest. They'll take you back to your misspent youth, and leave you wiping your brow for having survived it. These books are not family-friendly, Christian stories. If you are easily offended, won't acknowledge that drug or alcohol abuse exists, are disgusted that sex is more than just a tool for procreation, or can't stand to read the occasional swear word, then save your blushes and don't read these books. However, if you want to read about people living life on the edge, then you've come to the right place. From the author... "I love the creation of stories, and although I spend days and weeks and months working on a plot, it's the emotions of my characters that I enjoy delving into. My first published novel, 'Get Clean', really has my heart and soul poured into it. Although I feel a bit naked by putting a story out there that contains so much of my life, I'm happy with the book, and a little proud of my first writing achievement. Also available is 'Son of a Serial Killer'. This story was born in my mind when I was going through a difficult phase in my life. I felt let down by the person closest to me, and I was angry and upset. What better way to expel those emotions than to throw them into a book? The story itself isn't based on my life like my previous novel, but the emotions captured within the pages are feelings I had to battle with for far too long. My third release, 'Extremely England', is something completely different. It's a satirical comedy poking fun at society and the way it is portrayed by the media - I enjoyed writing something that wasn't so dark for a change if I'm honest! Just recently, I've released my fourth novel on Amazon. Back to the darker side of life, 'Finding Her Feet' is the tale of a young girl, who grows up in a family that suffered a terrible tragedy. To be read with a box of tissues handy. I am a big film fan, and would have to admit that I have an eye on the 'filmability' of my stories when writing them. One day..."

Katie Welsby is the writer of the Young Adult series, 'The Blaisdell Chronicles,' a paranormal romance with a historical twist. She lives in Bristol, England, with her husband and two children.
