Where Awesome Book Readers Meet Awesome Writers

  1. Surrender To You by C.S. Janey
C.S. Janey is a big fan of romance - writing and reading. Born in the USA, she is the mother of one, currently spends her days writing, reading, attending college to receive her BBA in Accounting, and protecting her son from himself as he pretends that he is a superhero. "Surrender To You" is her first contemporary adult romance novel. Intended to be the first of a series, the story can be enjoyed as a stand alone. She also has many other works in progress and hopes to share them with the world soon. She's in the process of writing two stories involving secondary characters from "Surrender To You" in addition to another completely unrelated contemporary romance. Look for more stories to come soon! If you'd like to contact the author, please send a message through her Facebook page or on Goodreads! She will respond to anyone who isn't spam or a bot. ;)
  2. A Home for Wayward Husbands
A Home for Wayward Husbands is my debut novel. I enjoy making my characters miserable or rather they are miserable and I enjoy writing about their misery adding a sliver of triumph and a bit of love, here and there, to save them. I live in Northern California with a grumpy old dog and a Grumpa, my grumpy old husband. We love to travel the back roads of America looking for a place for the dog to pee. Fortunately, you can’t take the South out of this ol’ gal. Ingrained with the impurities of being born and living Southern, and more importantly thinking Southern, I am Southern — much to the irritation of my blond purebred California surfer-boy-husband, who has to endure my need for Louisiana Hot Sauce. I have characters living in my head, having conversations about the silliest things, and when I write down what they say, I find I don't include myself in their musings. I started my first novel while in high school on a napkin while I was eating Jello in Luby's Cafeteria. The Jello was terrible — never did like Jello — but the story, I'm sure was award winning. I think I accidentally scooped that story into the trash can on my way to out of Luby's to find another place to practice my fine art of being truant from L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, Texas. I hope you enjoy reading about Bitzy and Beau. I know I enjoyed writing about their lives.
  3. Red, White, and You by Patricia Harreld
Patricia Harreld has been an inveterate reader since first grade. Her love of writing began in the fifth grade, when she won the county essay contest. At age ten, she began to develop what would be a lifelong interest in the world beyond our five senses. While working day jobs and raising a family, she still found time to take classes. She read every book she could get her hands on concerning all things paranormal. She enjoys writing books with paranormal themes, hoping her readers will ask themselves, “What if…?” Patricia is also passionate about saving the Earth. She is an avid recycler and a staunch advocate of the Going Green movement. She lives with her husband in San Diego, California. You can contact her from her website.

  11. Sam (a pastoral) by Susan Larson
I am, believe it or not, a retired operatic soprano. I did my best work in the 'eighties and early 'nineties. Some of it is on youtube, and also in your local library: I am in three opera movies. I lost my singing voice in the mid-nineties, and taught singing at the college level. I also wrote music criticism and feature articles for the Boston Globe, and some magazines. My secret passion was riding horses, which I did throughout my life until I became allergic to hay and barns. I did have a horse like Sam, no, let's face it, he was Sam, and he did many of the things that happen in the book, which is mostly fiction. He had such a big personality, as did the people who lived near me at the time– good people, eccentric, flawed, sometimes broken and unlovable people, but you know, I loved them anyhow and they loved me, and I was no prize either. I am working on another book, a murder mystery with lots of opera in it. Stick to what you know best. I have a good man for a husband, two daughters, four grandchildren, and many good friends, from the music word and from the horse-nut world; sometimes from both worlds at once.
  12. Splodge Gets Lost in London: A ‘Splodge the Dog’ Cartoon Book for Children, by Richard Bullivant
A few months ago I was inspired to create this Photo-Cartoon book whilst travelling on the London Underground (tube). I saw a family walking in front of me along the intersecting tunnels; of which the last member was a young boy wearing a bright red rucksack. Half hanging out of his rucksack was a teddy bear. This bear was rather worn, but clearly much loved, and naturally had to travel literally everywhere with his owner. I could see that the bear was about to fall and as a result would be lost to the boy forever, so I tapped him on the shoulder to alert him to his bear’s predicament. He thanked me with a smile, stuffed his bear deeper into his rucksack and at the same time gave him a good telling off. ‘Lost bear at bedtime’ situation averted, I carried on my way but it got me thinking about a story revolving around a lost bear in London…and Splodge was born. I found one of my old bears…actually a soft toy dog and wedging him in my briefcase I took him with me to London whenever I went there on business. I would take every opportunity to whip out Splodge and photograph him featuring prominently by some of London’s famous landmarks. Then later I had fun putting the whole story together. I received some very strange looks from passers-by I can tell you, but it didn’t bother me. After all, if you can’t travel around London in a smart suit and tie, with a briefcase and a toy dog, then I don’t what the world is coming to. In truth, Splodge received a warm welcome everywhere we went and on many occasions people actually wanted their picture taken with him! Sorry for the long rambling story, but I thought it would give some background to this book. If anyone would like to give Splodge a ‘Like’ and, or, a Review, he would much appreciate it.
