  5. The Z Redemption by Daniel Wetta
I lived in Mexico in 2009 and 2010 and suffered the murder of a young friend who was kidnapped, tortured, shot, and left in a vacant field in his home city of Monterrey. He was a bright and handsome college student. The mistake that cost him his life was to meet the wrong person at a party. She was the estranged wife of a drug cartel leader but did not tell him. Their flirtation put an end to his life and the dreams for him of all who loved him. I was aware of the violence in Mexico when I arrived, but after I came to make friends and saw how they courageously lived their lives in a world full of daily horrors and abundant impunity, I realized how safely we lead lives in the United States and how we know so little about the country to the south of us to which we contribute so many problems. The young friend’s name was Israel. I could not forget him. I spent two years researching and understanding the violence of organized crime, especially that of the drug cartels throughout Latin America and the role the United States plays as both the greatest purchaser of drugs and the supplier of weapons used by the cartels. The result is The Z Redemption. Writing this has been my own personal redemption. As for my bio, I am a retired Certified Public Accountant who spent most of my career in the health care field. For twenty years I was the CFO and then CEO of a Virginia hospital and nursing home in a large healthcare company. I wrote short stories as a young man, and at the College of William and Mary I really learned to write. I received my undergraduate degree in History there. Later I went to grad school at Virginia Commonwealth University, where I got a post baccalaureate certificate in accounting and then my Masters in Business Administration from the University of Dallas. I am a life-long lover of Corvettes, Las Vegas, and living on the edge. I am in love with my family, and I am passionate about United States and Mexican history, the Spanish language, and using social media.
  6. The Gordonston Ladies Dog Walking Club
Duncan was born in England in 1967. After a successful career in the Royal Navy where he served in British Embassies throughout South America and saw service in the Gulf War he joined the world of super yachts as a Purser onboard some of the world's largest private vessels, working for many high profile individuals, being fortunate enough to visit some of the world's most luxurious and exotic places. Eventually retiring to Savannah, Georgia, he began to partake of his greatest passion, writing. Initially writing short stories he finally put pen to paper and wrote THE GORDONSTON LADIES WALKING CLUB, inspired by the quirky characters and eeriness of his new environment. The book, a thriller, which boasts an assortment of characters and plot twists, is set in the leafy neighborhood where he lived. His passion for comedy saw submissions to many online satire news sites and a stint performing as a stand- up comedian. He is a former boxer, representing the Royal Navy and an English under 19 team as an amateur and is a qualified teacher of English as a foreign language as well as a former accomplished children's soccer coach. In 2011 Duncan returned to South America, spending six months in Brazil and a few months in Paraguay before travelling to the Middle-East and Europe before returning to the United States to settle in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and lists his hobbies and passions as cooking, the Israeli self defense art of Krav Maga and the pressure point martial art Dim- Mak. Duncan has written over 2,000 spoof and comedy news articles, under various aliases, for an assortment of web sites both in the US and UK. As well as his other activities he performs volunteer work, as a hospice volunteer visitor and teaches English to refugees arriving in South Florida. He has penned a further novel; a comedy set in Manhattan, THE RELUCTANT JESUS, which is set to be published early 2013 and is working on the script for a potential sit-com. Duncan has one daughter, Keira, and lives alone.
  7. Parachutes and Pep Talks (The Freefall Trilogy – Part 2)
Sadie Mills is a dizzy (strawberry) blonde hailing from deepest, darkest Devon, where she lives with her Maine Coon cat. She wrote her first novel aged 26 years old. She worked two jobs to fund her first creative writing course, stealing Saturdays to attend The Groucho Club in London Soho. Sadie has worked in the legal profession for over fifteen years. She has also worked as a canine beautician and wedding chauffeur, as well as living in a restaurant for over two decades. She has flown in a hot air balloon, ridden elephants bareback through the jungle, and seen Christian Slater in his pants. In her spare time, Sadie enjoys scuba, travelling in the Middle East, and skydiving. She doesn't get much spare time, admittedly. Which is probably just as well. Sadie is currently available for weddings and bar mitzvahs. To contact Sadie and keep up-to-date with her latest releases, visit sadiemills.co.uk or follow on Twitter and Facebook.
