- Finding Rebecca: A Novel of Love and the Holocaust by Eoin Dempsey - 2013-04-25 02:55:42-04
As many people I meet seem to wish they could say, I was born and raised in Ireland. I lived there until 2008. The first month living in America was fine, beach, sun, summertime. The second was less so. I think I started looking for a job the day Lehman brothers went under. It wasn't the best of times to be looking for a job in the mortgage industry. It was a time when the phrase 'the land of opportunity', took on a bitterly ironic tone. I was lucky enough that my in-laws took me in. It was during that time that I came up with the idea for a novel. So I wrote it. I've always been fascinated by history and the juxtaposition of a love story with the horrific events of the holocaust was incredible to write. I'm a teacher now, in Philadelphia, where I live with my wonderful wife.
- Then Came Love by Mona Ingram - 2013-04-25 02:59:18-04
Mona Ingram was born in Ontario, Canada. Her family moved to British Columbia when she was twelve, and she can't imagine living anywhere else. In recent years she has lived in the Okanagan Valley and on Vancouver Island. In addition to reading and writing, traveling and bird watching are among Mona’s favorite pastimes. Mona’s first five books were published in hard cover by Avalon Books, which was purchased by Amazon in 2012. Those books are now available under Amazon’s Montlake imprint in hard cover, soft cover and e-book format, along with her many (twelve at last count) self-published novels. Mona writes contemporary romance novels and takes great delight in creating unexpected twists and turns in her story lines. She frequently sets her books in areas which are familiar to her, immersing the reader in the setting. One reader recently commented that “after reading Fixing Freddie, I felt as though I’d been on a trip to Vancouver”.
- True Love by Destin Bays - 2013-04-25 03:43:58-04
Storytelling for me began when I was a child with pajamas that covered everything including my feet. I sat in the living room on an ottoman, with my legs crossed under me, just before bedtime and told stories to my Mom and Dad. They were short and always ended with a loud “The End”. My work with the written word began the first year of college in Dr. Cooper’s creative writing class. Rather than following my heart and continue the development of my skill as a writer, I went to work as a pilot. In 1999 I found my way back to the warmth of plot, dialogue and narrative. I was introduced to my mentor in 2005, six years and one novel into a rekindled passion for storytelling. He began to guide the development of my skills and redirected my efforts toward new and exciting projects. “True Love”, my first love story, has been one of the redirections I am most proud of. I hope you enjoy reading “True Love” and thank you for taking the time to explore this listing. Please come back and leave your comments once you have experienced the tender story about two couples that meet in the same place, separated by 2,000 years. Two more books in the True Love series are currently being outlined. Creating loving memories for my readers… Destin
- The Three Kitties That Saved My Life - 2013-04-25 03:45:17-04
I have resided in and have visited many places in the world, all of which have contributed in some way to my own published writing. I have literally traveled throughout the world, on numerous occasions. I have lived in Finland, Germany, Thailand, Saudi Arabia (where COVERT DREAMS is set), and the U.S. Virgin Islands (where DEADLY EYES is set). I gained the wanderlust to see the world, to experience other cultures, at an early age, and this desire has never left me. If anything, it has only gained in intensity as I have aged. I try to travel internationally at least once a year. In the interim, I spend lots of time traveling around both my home state of California and other nearby states. I spent my early years in the small town of Lone Pine, California, the home of almost every western movie, in addition to a wide variety of other genres, made in the 30's, 40's, 50's, and 60's. In fact, Hollywood still films parts of big-time movies there today. My dad, the town's lifeguard at the time, personally knew John Wayne, Lloyd Bridges, and Lee Marvin, all of whom came to the town's pool, the Memorial Plunge, at times to cool off after a hectic day of working in the sun. I was even an extra in a movie filmed there in 1957, MONOLITH MONSTERS, a B-cult favorite even today. I was ten years old at the time. Even though I resided in a small town hours from the big city, I was exposed to the excitement of action and heroes at a formative age, and, thus, my interest in writing novels of suspense such as COVERT DREAMS and DEADLY EYES was born. I am particularly proud of the fact that these two international suspense thrillers are rated #1 and #2 on the Goodreads Recommended Thriller/Suspense list. As a recent retiree from a forty-year career as a professor of writing, I now live in Southern California wine country with my wife, Kitty, and our two other cats.

'Master of the Financial Thriller', 'the King of Pace and Plot' are just some of the honorific nicknames given to Peter Wilben by his reviewers over the years. With a distinguished career spanning over thirty years, Peter is best known for his Joe Grace thrillers, originally a paperback series, now exclusively available online. The books are set in the ruthless world of high finance, and as a former trader, who worked on Wall Street in its heyday, it is Peter's insider knowledge that makes him the master of the financial thriller. In 1982 while on holidays in Antigua Peter's briefcase was stolen. He spent the next 14 days locked in his room, writing the first 25,000 words of a thriller about a man who goes on holidays, has his briefcase stolen and stumbles on a plot by terrorists to assassinate the Queen at the Epsom Derby. A few months later, Peter was offered a publishing contract. He has been a full-time writer ever since. Peter lives in County Kildare, Ireland, with his wife, Carol, a Jungian psychoanalyst, with whom he has six children.
