  1. Thank Sophia for Sam - 2013-04-20 02:36:35-04
Novelist ROBERT POWER was born in Canada, but raised and educated in the United States. He stayed in university so long, Berkeley eventually gave him a PhD to get rid of him. Working as a consultant from home, he drove his wife crazy until he took up writing fiction in his too-ample spare time. Neither he nor his wife know what they were thinking when they decided to have four children, but they're happy they do--most days. They live in southern Ontario. Visit his website: rdpower.ca.
  2. Oh, No, They’re Engaged! by Joy Smith - 2013-04-20 02:40:47-04
Joy Smith holds a B.S. Degree from the University of Connecticut in Home-Economics Education. Her studies included advanced courses in psychology, marriage, and family relationships. Joy has also authored The Perfect First Mate, Kitchen Afloat and The Empty Nest Cookbook. As a mother of two daughters and a son, she spent three years crammed with wedding preparations. While this period was a busy, joyful time, Joy was surprised to find it filled with wedding politics, and decided to pass on her insights and solutions to help other mothers cope. Joy’s greatest pleasure is her family, which now includes seven grandchildren. When she is not working on a manuscript, she enjoys creating recipes and crocheting prayer shawls. Joy and her husband own a Farr 50 sailboat and spend much of their time cruising the Atlantic and Caribbean waters. They live in Glastonbury, Connecticut. 3. CASTLES IN THE AIR by Ilana Waters - 2013-04-20 03:33:46-04
Ilana Waters is a freelance writer who lives in New Jersey. When not creating content for websites, she can be found working on fiction—as well as nibbling string cheese. She once pet-sat an electric eel, and enjoys walking in circles around the park for no particular reason. Her first book—THE ADVENTURES OF STANLEY DELACOURT: BOOK I OF HARTLANDIA—is a middle-grade fantasy. It is available at Amazon, Amazon.com/uk, Barnesandnoble, Apple, Kobo, and Smashwords. Ilana is currently writing Book II of the Hartlandia trilogy, due out in 2013. Check out more of her work at ilanawaters.com!
  4. The Witch’s Dream: A Love Letter to Paranormal Romance - 2013-04-21 02:02:38-04
If you're looking for something new and different in PNR, you've come to the right place. I write unapologetic romances with uniquely fresh perspectives on paranormal creatures, characters, and themes. Add a dash of scifi and a flourish of fantasy to enough humor to make you laugh out loud and enough steam to make you squirm in your chair. My heroines are independent femmes with flaws and minds of their own whether they are aliens, witches, demonologists, psychics, or past life therapists. My heroes are hot and hunky, but they also have brains, character, and good manners - usually - whether they be elves, demons, berserkers, werewolves, or vampires. My first book, My Familiar Stranger, was nominated for Best Paranormal Romance of 2012 by the Reviewers' Choice Awards. Each of my books has remained on the Amazon best seller list in category every day since release. All three also earned the Night Owl Reviews TOP PICK award. My work has been compared to J R Ward, Karen Marie Moning, Sherrilyn Kenyon, and Lara Adrian. For example: "I do see shades of Lara Adrian's Breed books and shades of J R Wards Black Dagger books, but this story is unique enough that it stands out all on its own and can stand up along side those other books and I think given time will elbow them out of the way with the rich story telling and deep emotional core that makes you want to know more." - Kerry, Musings of a Bookworm The Order of the Black Swan is a series that is also a serial saga. Each book is an episodic installment in an ongoing story. Join me for the adventure.
  5. Harvesting Ashwood: Minnesota 2037 by Cynthia Kraack - 2013-04-21 02:56:56-04
Some writers exorcise their pasts through their works or escape today’s reality. Cynthia Kraack tries to calm her concerns about the future. The possible not so distant future. Minnesota Cold, Cynthia Kraack’s first novel, won the 2009 Northeastern Minnesota Book Award for Fiction. Her speculative fiction work continued with Ashwood in 2010 and Harvesting Ashwood: Minnesota 2037 in 2012. Harvesting Ashwood was nominated for the Minnesota Book Award. Beside full-length works, Cynthia has been recognized for short stories in a variety of contests. She has a MFA from the Stonecoast Program in Creative Writing of the University of Southern Maine.
  6. Where Brave Men Fall: The Battle of Dieppe and the Espionage War Against Hitler, 1939-1942 - 2013-04-21 03:36:08-04
In 2003, George and Darril Fosty released their first book, "Splendid Is The Sun: The 5,000 Year History of Hockey." The book angered many in Canada for its contention that the roots of hockey dated back to ancient times. A year later, they added more fuel to the fire with the release of "Black Ice: The Lost History Of The Colored Hockey League Of The Maritimes, 1895 to 1925." "Black Ice" would eventually climb to number 71 on the Amazon bestseller's list becoming one of the highest charting hockey books in history. To this day, both books are considered landmark achievements and are credited with rewriting hockey history and resurrecting the legacy of African-Canadian hockey, a history that had been deliberately removed from the Canadian historic record.
