- The Reunion: Ashley’s Mountain Retreat by Angelina Rose - 2013-04-18 02:44:49-04
Angelina Rose (that’s me) has wanted to write ever since she could hold a pencil. The first daughter of immigrant parents, Angelina constantly had her head buried in books. In 2010, Angelina had a long stint in hospital following her involvement in a motor vehicle accident; the longest time off work (as a Registered Nurse), she'd ever had in her life! It was then she took up pen and paper and started to write again, just as she had done when she was a child. She wrote four short fiction stories for young adults, entered them in several competitions, and managed to win three first prizes! After happily dipping her toes into writing those short fictions stories for young adults, Angelina has now authored four books in a new "Mill Creek Crossing Romance" series … contemporary romance intended for adults. The “Starting Over Series” is another contemporary romance series she wrote about a subject she knows well … nurses and their love life. At a recent reunion of her graduating class, she could not help but notice how the same girls would group together and laugh, chat and even shed some tears over their lives since graduating. Many of the girls had divorced … so Angelina thought "what if a group of the nurses came up with a plan to meet in two years and have a new love story to share?" Then the first story in the series was born! When Angelina is not writing, she loves to sing and dance, as well as have fun with her friends.

J. D. Burrows also writes under the name of Vicki Hopkins, who is an award-winning author of historical romance. She started her writing career somewhat late in life, but can attest to the fact that it is never too late to follow your dreams. Her debut novel was released in 2009, and four books later and another on the way, she doesn't think she will stop any time soon. With Russian blood on her father's side and English on her mother's, she blames her ancestors for the lethal combination in her genes that influence her stories. Tragedy and drama might be found between her pages, but she eventually gives her readers a happy ending. She lives in the beautiful, but rainy, Pacific Northwest with a pesky cat who refuses to let her sleep in. Her hobbies include researching her English ancestry and plotting her next book.
- Only Human by Maria Bradley - 2013-04-19 03:14:33-04
I have worked as a Finance Clerk, Merchandiser, Sales Assistant, and Carer; more recently I’ve worked with special needs children and young adults. I love them all and continue to volunteer but my real passion is for writing. Writing a story opens up a world which is entirely controlled by the writer; it can be happy or sad, down-to-earth or mystical, heart-warming or terrifying. It is the most exciting and captivating use of time and is full of possibilities. A good story consumes the reader absolutely and leaves them bereft when they get to the end. I have read many stories like this and I hope that one day my stories will have the same effect. That is when I will feel that I have succeeded as an Author.
