- Gabriella, Tale of a Misfit Fairy - 2013-03-25 02:06:49-04
Nancy Hill is a writer and photographer currently living with her dog Casper in Portland, Oregon. She has two sons, Cody and Dusty, who have set out on lives of their own. She believes in the possibility of fairies and other little people and has had the amazing good fortune to have been entertained by a leprechaun swinging on her traction bar and telling her jokes when she broke her leg years ago. She has illustrated a number of children’s books with her photographs, and while she shoots a wide variety of subjects, childhood is her favorite theme. Not all of childhood is idyllic, and she captures the more troubling aspects of childhood as well as the more fanciful ones. In addition to her appreciation of fairies and fools, imaginary playmates, and make believe, she also cares deeply for social issues, especially issues of incarceration. She is currently working on an anti-war novel. About the illustrator Megan Bourg has spent many years studying fine arts, illustration, graphic arts, and art history from various colleges and universities throughout the United States. She earned her BA in art and art history from St. Mary’s College in South Bend, Indiana, and has done post-graduate work at UNLV. She feels strongly about caring for the environment and is currently working on a work of illustrated fiction depicting a blend of magic, spirituality, nature, and fantasy.
