   I've written weekly horoscopes (first-ever job and with no star-gazing abilities whatsoever), ghost written agony aunt columns, worked as fashion editor, picture editor, sub editor and have regularly contributed to UK national newspapers and magazines such as Woman&Home; Ideal Home; In Style; Now; Woman; Blush; SHE Magazine (writing news pages, homes & interior trends and foodie stuff); Sunday Mirror; Sunday Mail; and the Daily Mail. Other jobs include web and e-commerce content, article writing, regular ghost writing and eBooks. I live in Surrey, on the cusp of London, and escape to Scotland via wherever is warmest whenever I can. I'd love to list a heap of adventurous hobbies but it is a work in progress. I did go skiing recently and spent much of the time whimpering on the mountainside frozen with fear while friends, family and snow-covered strangers whizzed past hollering: "Just get a turn in, Helen. You'll be fine!!" I did get down the mountain. Two hours later. I was fine. Not brilliant but fine. If nothing else, it taught me an important lesson in life: you will get there in the end.
