  1. The Cylinder Program - 2013-03-06 02:23:18-05
I'm Paul MacDonald a retired engineer, machinist, carpenter, woodworker and Jack-of-all-Trades. I'm a graduate of Boston College High School and Wentworth Institute, both in Boston, MA. My wife and I along with our four daughters spent many wonderful vacations in Key West over the years and have fallen in love with its ambience and lifestyle. Meeting and interacting with its many artists and wonderful characters inspired me to come up with this story about Bill Baker, a Charter Boat Captain in Key West and his quest for sunken bronze cylinders full of gold coins, dealing with diehard Nazis, and of course a belated romance with the beautiful Iris. I hate to tell how many years I've been working on this Key West adventure novel. I realized like my main character, I'm not getting any younger, so I'd better get a move on. The advent of Amazon Publishing, kindled me to complete this project, which begins in a historical town in New England and unfolds in Key West... a place my family and I dearly love.
  2. Why She Left Us by David Dennis - 2013-03-06 14:41:23-05
I am a retired English teacher who got hooked on detective novels when I was an adolescent. Later on, during the 1980s, I began writing my own series detective novels, all of them written in a tongue-in-cheek style and featuring a hard-boiled, unscrupulous character by the name of Brett Cornell. The third book in the series -- "Brett Always Wins" -- was a semifinalist in The Kindle Book Review's Best Indie Book of 2012 in the category of mysteries/thrillers. The novel "Why She Left Us" is not, however, a part of that series, and may be regarded as a serious novel, written in a somewhat experimental style, with a story involving love, loss, murder, and betrayal.
  3. Max Xylander and the Island of Zumuruud - 2013-03-07 02:08:07-05
Jon Thomason lives with his family in San Diego, after many years living in the beautiful Seattle area. He has a successful career in high tech where he’s been fortunate enough to participate in many big-name industry releases. Storytelling permeates everything he does. In the moments when Jon is not helping build the story of the tech world, he can almost always be found working on a project: writing, photography, videography, graphics design, or 3D art. And he’s always careful to conceal his jinni magic abilities, though perhaps might slip one day and be discovered…
  4. The Vampire’s Warden - 2013-03-07 02:23:51-05
S.J. Wright (aka Steph) first began writing stories when she was twelve years old. She has been a cashier, a receptionist, a factory worker and has served a multitude of other roles over the years. Her favorite role has been that of a mother to her two sons. She lives in Texas with her husband, two boys and Shelby, an old Jack Russell terrier who likes to follow her into every room of the house. S.J. grew up near the University of Notre Dame and most of her family still lives in Indiana, where she hopes to live again one of these days.
  5. Promise Me by Mona Ingram - 2013-03-07 02:31:19-05
Mona Ingram was born in Ontario, Canada. Her family moved to British Columbia when she was twelve, and she can't imagine living anywhere else. In recent years she has lived in the Okanagan Valley and on Vancouver Island. In addition to reading and writing, traveling and bird watching are among Mona’s favorite pastimes. Mona’s first five books were published in hard cover by Avalon Books, which was purchased by Amazon in 2012. Those books are now available under Amazon’s Montlake imprint in hard cover, soft cover and e-book format, along with her many (twelve at last count) self-published novels. Mona writes contemporary romance novels and takes great delight in creating unexpected twists and turns in her story lines. She frequently sets her books in areas which are familiar to her, immersing the reader in the setting. One reader recently commented that “after reading Fixing Freddie, I felt as though I’d been on a trip to Vancouver”.
  6. The Bonds of Blood - 2013-03-07 02:32:25-05
I have always been a do-it-yourselfer. I haven't had any formal education on writing, and I haven't been raised around writer types. For that matter, I wasn't even encouraged to read when I was a kid, even though plenty of people in my family read. When I was a teenager, I discovered Cliff's Notes on Mythology, and it sparked something in me. It was like a floodgate had been opened, and all of these stories started rushing in. I would get ideas at random times, and I would jot them down. I have a pretty big file system of everything I have ever written. Someday I will get to them and put them all into electronic files. There is some good material in there, but there are a lot of bad stories too. I started writing when I was thirteen or fourteen. At an early age I was already writing books of Saracin (the world The Bonds of Blood takes place in). The first book I wrote of that place was "The Calling of the Two" (not yet released). While I was writing that, I kept thinking of these characters Jovian and Angelica. I knew they had a part to play in the storyline, but they weren't going to be in the same series. For that matter, they weren't even going to be in the same age. As I finished the first draft of "The Calling of the Two" I went on to write the first book of Angelica and Jovian's story. At that time it was The Mirror of the Moon. Later an editor told me it was so massive that I should make the one volume into two, and so The Bonds of Blood was born, and The Revenant Wyrd Saga went from a planned three to six. That story has taken many forms until now, and I am sure if I didn't declare that it was "done" it could continue to transform. Along the way, I discovered my passion for research. I absolutely love researching. It would be nothing for me to sit for days on end, barely eating, just getting up to take care of necessities, and research really odd theories and stories. I get my ideas from them to be honest. Of course, my idea's are never the main theme of the research I am doing, but it always seems to come from some obscure topic mentioned while I am researching. For instance one book I am outlining now is based on something I heard while watching Ancient Aliens. Unlike most authors, I have not always loved reading and writing. I hated it until I was in 7th grade. My teacher wanted us to read the entire semester. We would read a book and write in a journal about it. Back then the teachers were allowed to spend more time on what their passions were, and actually foster something in their students, and she did just that. She made me love reading and writing. She told me to go to her book shelf and pick out a book that I was interested in. I found one of my first loves: David Eddings' Pawn of Prophecy. Back then I was in remedial reading, and my teacher (Mrs. Peters) would sit with me for the time I was in her classroom, taking turns reading the story out loud with me. We would read where the adventure was taking Garion, and then we would flip to the beginning and look at the map so we could follow them as well. I think it was at that point, getting lost in a book I love to this day, that I knew I had to do this. I had to create the same magic for others that Mr. Eddings created for me. At times it is boggling. I have three series of books started, and 2 more forming in my mind (and outlined on the computer). At this point I have to step back and finish the ones I have started before I can let myself move forward. I feel that I am blessed in being able to write, and forging a life of my passion. It is tough at times, but that is what makes the payoff all the sweeter. The writing business is a huge adventure, trying to figure out what to do and what not to do; when to do things and when not to do anything. Currently I am planning the release of the second book to "The Bonds of Blood". This is the first time I am armed with the knowledge of what I must do for a book release, and I finally understand why it nerves so many authors up, but it is that excitement that makes me love writing. Every time I hear a reader I don't know praise my work, it makes my heart race and brightens my day. Travis is the author of The Bonds of Blood, the first book in his epic fantasy series The Revenant Wyrd Saga. He has also written a young adult novel called A Lament of Moonlight which is book one of his pre-apocalypse series The Harbingers of Light. He is currently seeking publication for the first book of a third series, a zombie novel called Desolation. When he isn't writing he is helping his family and trying to live a normal, under the radar life. His interests lie in cooking, gardening, green living, and human rights advocacy. He is a huge supporter of the Trevor Project and all agencies that seek to preserve natural resources and protect pets from abuse.

  8. Book 1: Saga of the New Gods: Be Careful What You Wish For by Daniel Black - 2013-03-08 01:55:47-05
Hello, my name is Daniel Black. A disabled military veteran I have traveled the world, and continue to do so (though on a much more restricted basis), and have done a hundred different jobs, from librarian to bouncer, from sailor to the vice president of a real estate company. I currently broil... I mean live... in Austin, Texas, with my one and a half cats, and my beautiful wife Kimberly. When I was a child in Hawaii, I cursed myself with an ancient Chinese curse without realizing it, I said, “I don’t care what happens in my life, so long as I am never bored,” the original curse is, “May you live in interesting times.” I have always been a writer, it was not a choice so much as a necessity, even as a trucker I would stop randomly on the side of the road to jot down idea’s, but I was able to finish my first novel when I left the work force to care for my mother, who finally escaped her pain recently and passed on. I continue to write full time in part for myself, in part for my wife and family, and in her memory.

  11. The Golden Sword by Rosie Morgan - 2013-03-08 03:43:23-05
Quite simply, I live in Cornwall and love it. For quite a few years I taught some great kids in various schools in south-east Cornwall. One village school had two classes and an outdoor loo, complete with complementary spider, but it was fabulous with an inspirational head-teacher. From tme to time I meet some of the kids I taught, and delight to find out just what they're doing now and to reminicise about their years at school. I've painted Cornish landscapes and now I'm writing books based in Cornwall for young teens. Um, I think there may be a theme running through all of this!
