I have been a prosecutor and criminal defense lawyer for over 30 years. In my suspense novel, I also include a legal thriller and reveal the "back rooms" of the criminal justice system--both tragic and hilarious. I also do extensive research to educate readers about different locations in the world and new technologies that may help or threaten us all. I am married with two adult children and play saxophone in a jazz band.

Alyne de Winter grew up in the woods in Massachusetts reading and making up stories. She has been involved in the arts, from painting and drawing, to theater, to dance, being lead singer in a Celtic band, and of course, writing. While finishing her English Lit degree at the University of Washington, she published her poetry of earth magic, winning prizes and recognition for her work. Psychic since birth, she has been a professional tarot reader, astrologer and healer. In 1997, she was inspired to create a trot deck based on the Holy Grail Legend. Research for this project took her the British Isles where she wound up living for many years. While staying in a haunted house in London, she began writing gothic fiction. Many of Alyne's short stories can be found on various online magazines and in print collections. Some of her stories are published on her blog: Gothic Faery Tales: http://www.gothicfaerytales.com The Roses of the Moon I: Mara is her first novel.
