- Grace by Marilia Bonelli - 2013-01-10 01:57:21-05
Marília was born on a snowy winter day in Ithaca-NY, and after learning the word "bus", relocated back to the northeast of Brazil with her parents, where she's lived ever since. She still considers herself as living in the sunny Natal (give or take 254km to the south) with her parents and her cats. Everyone else, except her parents, disagrees. She started writing when she was sixteen, in notebooks and pretty much any writable surface, and hasn't stopped since. Whenever real life doesn't get in the way, she's doing her best to finish all the other stories that have been trying to crawl their way out of her mind over the years.
- Treasure of Saint-Lazare by John Pearce - 2013-01-11 02:10:45-05
Treasure of Saint-Lazare has its roots in my love of Paris and my experiences over the years as a journalist in Europe and Washington. Some of its plot goes back to my days as a police reporter on a daily newspaper and a TV station. Even though it covers much ground -- from my current home of Sarasota, FL, to my part-time home of Paris, to Poland during the war, it is at heart a novel of Paris.
- Thea Gallas Always Get’s Her Man by Kristen Panzer - 2013-01-11 02:45:18-05
I am a mother of four and a board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) living in the mid-Hudson Valley area of New York, where I serve on a couple of boards and behave myself and act respectable to the best of my ability. I studied visual art as an undergrad and went back and earned a masters degree in human development after my kids were born and I was hungry for knowledge regarding childbirth, motherhood, feminism, and babies. This book was, at one point, intended to avenge myself finally of countless indignities suffered as the lactation consultant in a hospital maternity unit, but it has long morphed into a labor of love and a gift of gratitude to the people in my life (especially John Panzer) and the mothers and babies I have had the privilege of serving. I love Elmore Leonard, Breaking Bad, IDHD, the band Wilco, Dear Prudence at Slate.com, and the artist Joanne Greenbaum among others. I like going out and listening to live music, playing drums in my band the Kyles, but staying home, playing sudoku, and watching tv in bed is also wicked awesome!
