- Slender Forever: What It Really Takes to Be Thin (& Healthy) For the Rest of Your Life - 2012-10-24 11:21:52-04
My name is Mark. I've been training and researching weight-loss techniques for years now, and over that time, I kept finding myself confronted by one undeniable fact: Everyone has what it takes to lose weight and adopt a healthy lifestyle—the will is already there—but a few key misconceptions and missing pieces of knowledge cause the vast majority of dieters to fail again and again in the long-run, until they eventually lose hope. In fact, I can honestly tell you that every single person I've encountered in the last four years has had major false information about dieting that would make it extremely difficult—if not impossible—to slim down and achieve the body they wanted. One-for-one, they were all shooting themselves in the foot, no matter how much experience they'd had in the gym or how much information they'd "learned" over the years. So I looked further into why this was, and I uncovered some pretty shocking things in the dieting and nutrition industries: bald-face lies about the supposed "science" behind fad diets, crash diet programs that actually leave the dieter more likely to balloon up even larger afterward, and dangerous weight-loss practices that can put peoples' health in serious risk. Worse than this is the food manufacturing industry, who spread erroneous information about nutrition and dietary requirements, mislabel food products, and market junk foods as "healthy" so cleverly that even an extremely intelligent person would be unable to figure out a realistic plan for eating healthy. The most important discovery I made, though, was a positive one: Once the false information had been cleared away and the genuine facts about metabolism and nutrition were given, I found that people now had an exceedingly easy time adopting a healthy lifestyle and staying in control of their weight forever onward. Armed with the real information, losing weight and obtaining an attractive figure became a relatively simple matter. After witnessing this enough times, and seeing how much peoples' lives can be changed with a just a little knowledge, I took it upon myself to see that everyone has a fair chance at creating the healthy, slender, happy life they deserve. I decided to write this book, which I truly believe gives you all the tools you need to achieve that thin, attractive figure (you know, the one you never quite let yourself believe you can have) and keep it for the rest of your life. I'm always happy to help in any way I can. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at the address listed at the end of the book and I'll respond as promptly as I can. Sincerely, Mark Andrews

- Treasure of Saint-Lazare by John Pearce - 2012-10-24 21:13:22-04
I first became interested in the Nazis' looted art when I worked as a journalist in Washington and Europe, covering economic affairs for The Associated Press and the International Herald Tribune. Now and then I'd find a story about long-lost art, and I kept files that turned out to be useful in developing the plot of Treasure of Saint-Lazare. I didn't have a clear idea of how to pursue that interest until a few years ago, when the plot crystallized during the endless hours I was forced to sit in a darkened room recovering from an eye injury. I knew from the first the story would center on Paris, my favorite among all cities, but it took a lot of thinking to create the main French characters: Philippe the policeman, Aurélie his daughter and Eddie's one-time lover, and Jacques the old art thief, who luckily was still around in 2008 to provide some of the key evidence Eddie needed. Eric and Erich, villains extraordinaires, are a recognizable part of the Nazi epoch.
- The River - 2012-10-24 21:30:37-04
I want every child to have the same head-start that my mother and father gave me! Looking back, there were Golden Books all the way to Louis L'amour. My dad never missed an edition of Readers Digest and I was reading those by 10, especially stories about animals. My parents were always encouraging me to read, or were reading to me. My mother would always hunt for used books. So, there was always a book for me to read. Please, encourage your kids to read, really, it is one of the best gifts you will ever give them. I was born in 1950 in Denver, CO. At age 14, my family moved to Southern California where I graduated from High School and went on to Junior College in Los Angeles. In 1970 a career opportunity opened up and I moved to Seattle, WA. I was married in 1972, and I spent the next 30 years in the electronics distribution business. Beginning in 2005 I spent a few years ruining a good hobby, finish carpentry and woodworking, by turning it into my second career. In 2010 I moved to Arizona where I now live at the base of Superstition Mountain in Gold Canyon. I enjoy the warmth and the southwestern sights I remember visiting as a child. It was after moving here that I found the time to work on Pokey and Sparky, and a delight that has been. I am a Christian and attend Spring of Life Christian Church in Mesa, AZ and give Thanks to God for the blessings of my life, for my family, for the great career I had, for the talents that I have been given, and the blessings I continue to receive every day

- The Reunion: Emma’s Vacation by Beverleigh Piepers - 2012-10-24 23:29:50-04
According to her family Angelina Rose was a sweet child … maybe a little shy. She often spent a lot of time making up stories rather than running around and playing outside with her brother and sister. She won several writing competitions and used the prizes to help her single mother pay the bills. Like Emma, Claire, Shelby and Ashley from the The Starting Over Series, Angelina Rose is a Nurse. At a recent reunion of her graduating class she could not help but notice how the same girls would group together and laugh, chat and even shed some tears over their lives since graduating. Many of the girls had divorced … so Angelina thought “what if a group of the nurses came up with a plan to meet in two years and have a new love story to share?” Then this first story in the series was born! Angelina lives in the mountains with her husband, her two poodles and two bombay cats.

- HELL’S GATE - 2012-10-25 13:45:07-04
Michael Parker was born in 1941 and educated in London and Portsmouth. He left school with no qualifications but a natural ‘bent’ for English, and it was this ability that set him on the path to writing. Michael has written for as long as he can remember, but not with the success he first coveted. His first novel, NORTH SLOPE was published by Macmillan in 1980. His following manuscript, HELL’S GATE was rejected and so began a saga that lasted twenty six years, but more of that later. Michael’s second novel, THE SHADOW OF THE WOLF, was published in 1984 by Robert Hale of London. It was to be many, many years of writing and rejections before he saw his third novel published in 2007. This was HELL’S GATE, the novel he had been trying to get accepted since 1980. Other books followed: THE EAGLE’S COVENANT in 2007 (Robert Hale). THE DEVIL’S TRINITY in 2008 (Robert Hale). In May 2009 THE THIRD SECRET. A COVERT WAR followed that in 2010, and in December, 2011, THE BOY FROM BERLIN was published, once again published by Robert Hale. This novel is to be published in paperback by Harlequin in North America and Canada. Harlequin have also taken up the English language paperback rights for THE EAGLE’S COVENANT, also for North America and Canada.
- Eating Out by ER Pierce - 2012-10-25 13:46:57-04
I've been writing for as long as I can remember. I wrote my first story when I was in seventh grade--A first person account of an entire summer. I went through a massive teen angst poetry phase, and I have notebooks and binders filled with prose. Over a year ago, Ceithin and Aurelia showed up in my head. They yapped incessantly, demanding I sit and tell their story. After a month or two of being woken up with harsh whispers, I started writing. They haven't stopped, and in fact, brought friends. Now my head is filled with stories, scenes, snippets and crazy people. Cue Law and Order music here: dun, dun. These are their stories. I write with emotion, occasionally a temper and I let my words flow free. I dabble in paranormal, contemporary romance, erotic fiction and darker urban fantasy. Oh, and hey... I'm a Virgo.

- DRAGON BAIT by SUE MILLARD - 2012-10-25 21:34:10-04
I was born and went to school in Cheshire. I took a 4 year honours degree, 2.1 in English Literature and Education, at Chester College (now the University of Chester). I moved to Cumbria in 1975 and since then I've lived up here with my husband in "a very small hamlet at the end of the world". We have a grown-up daughter and son, a much-loved granddaughter who succumbed to cancer shortly before her 6th birthday, and red-headed grandson with a permanent grin. I've designed embroidery canvases, painted murals and built websites. For 14 years I made competition driving harness for horses and ponies, and farmed at Daw Bank. I was a regular contributor to Carriage Driving Magazine, was a cartoonist and wrote for the pony magazine Going Native until its closure in 1995 and still contribute occasionally to its successor Native Pony. I have had three books published by "proper" publishing houses, One Fell Swoop (now reprinted), Against the Odds (J A Allen) and Hoofprints in Eden (Hayloft). Recently I've also been doing a good deal of editing and proofing work and the penny finally dropped that I could be doing this for my OWN books. Dragon Bait, Coachman and The Forthright Saga represent the work I've produced over the past three years.

- The Man with the Blue Hat - 2012-10-25 22:56:07-04
Wendy Potocki lives and writes in NYC. If that isn't scary enough, she writes in the genre of horror. She feels creating good horror is an art form. She religiously devotes herself to pursuing it over hill and dale … and in the crevices of her keyboard. She has four self-published novels: The White Lady Murders, The Horns of September, The Man with the Blue Hat, and her latest, Adduné: Part I. The Vampire's Game. Book trailers for many of her works may be found on her official website http://www.wendypotocki.com/. Her next planned projects are Black Adagio, The Virgin, and the second installment of Adduné entitled The House of Cards. The Adduné saga is a three book series that is as much as an adventure to write as to read. "Many, many hours of research are going into making this a sweeping, exciting tale about love, revenge and the hidden power lying dormant within the soul." In her spare time, she loves to go for long walks, drink Starbuck's Apple Chai Lattes, make devotional offerings to her cat named Persephone, and be stilled by the grace, beauty and magic of ballet.

I'm just your typical smart, socially anxious, bipolar 20 year old. I have many passions, the main of which are sports, but I also love to teach math and learn mathematics. I'm a dark fiction writer: that means I include elements of sex, blood, gore and violence. My writing also includes elements of the supernatural, realism, satire and human psychology, including getting inside of the heads of people that commit various crimes, critiques of societies that I observe, how societies define crime, and how they handle crime. Death, destruction, and man's desire for power are some of my various themes.
