- The Tale Of Findo Gask - 2012-10-17 16:44:22-04
Writer, traveller, cyclist and gardener: I've always been a dreamer - I wrote my first 'book' while at primary school and making up stories has long been one of my favourite occupations. I was born in Southampton, England, in 1965 and grew up in a small market town called Romsey. Over the years that followed I worked as a journalist, PR consultant, gardener and, most recently, teaching English in Portugal. My first novel - The Tale Of Findo Gask - was published in 2006 after winning the national final of a UK competition to discover new authors. I've also written several other books and published a collection of short stories. Please visit my blog - at http://hdthomas.wordpress.com - for more information about me and my books, as well as some of my thoughts on being a writer and the creative process. You can also find me on Facebook - look for 'Huw Thomas author'. My latest novel - murder mystery The Vault - was published in March in aid of the disaster relief charity ShelterBox http://www.shelterbox.org (I've been involved with this charity for a few years - I was previously in charge of PR & Fundraising at its UK HQ and in 2010-11 my wife and I undertook a 10,000-mile tandem bike ride in aid of ShelterBox!) My next novel - Pagan's Sphinx - should be released late in 2012. This one's being published under the pen name William Webster as it's a bit different from my other books. Pagan's Sphinx is an adventure story set in North Africa involving the hunt for a lost statue that may be connected with the lost civilisation of Atlantis. An extract from Pagan's Sphinx can be downloaded from my blog - http://hdthomas.wordpress.com/novels/pagans-sphinx/ I'm always happy to hear from readers - contact me via the blog or Facebook.

- Deadly Valentine - 2012-10-18 01:29:58-04
I love to read romantic suspense or mystery, but am disappointed that romances don't follow up on the happily ever after and mysteries rarely provide the sexy, romantic elements I enjoy. So I decided to write my own. I'm the author of Deadly Valentine, the first novel in a series featuring Tess Madison a chocolate and French underwear connoisseur and Jack Valentine, her handsome, environmentalist, pteromerhanophobic (fear of flying) love interest. Endangered is the first novella in a series focused on the Delecoeurs, a happily married couple that often find themselves in trouble. When I'm not telling stories, I work by day as a freelance writer and blogger -- under my real name. I live in central Virginia with my husband, two teenage children and two cats.
- Money Saving Emergency Plan - 2012-10-18 01:44:33-04
Dave Ramson has had a life-long passion for working with people to save money, protect assets and grow their wealth. As a personal financial planner and public speaker, he has helped thousands of individuals and families over the last twenty years to learn to live within their means and work towards achieving their own personal financial freedom. As the oldest child of three children, Dave learned at an early age the importance of fiscal responsibility and living within his means. Some of his earliest memories are of his parents teaching him, and his siblings, how to conserve and stretch their family’s resources in order to survive on her limited income. In fact, Dave now proudly shares that his parents never earned more than $51,700 in a year; yet helped put all three children through college. The lessons from his early life have remained with Dave ever since childhood and he readily shares them with his audience and clients. Today, although financially a little better off than while growing up, Dave and his family still incorporate many money-saving practices into their daily lives and happily live within their means. Many of the very same tips, tricks and ideas on cost-cutting and resourcefulness that are in this book come from the very same things the Ramson family does on a daily basis.

- Naked in Swamp Fenokee - 2012-10-18 03:58:52-04
I was lucky enough to have many varied adventures in my life, which have helped me craft the mysterious adventures in my books that take place in some of the most intriguing locations. Adventure on Lake Sebago The summer I turned sixteen I as invited to leave home and live in a resort in Bear Mountains of New York State and work as a dishwasher. All summer and fall on Lake Sebago in Bear Mountains I heard tales of a sailboat that had sunk many years before in the deepest part of the large lake. The next year, now as a waiter, I organized a salvage expedition of the other waiters and bus boys to locate the sunken “Ruptured Duck”. We spent many exhausting hours of searching underwater, which drew down the original dozen teenage explorers to just five. One great day, it happened. We found the sunken sailboat, mast less, on its side in deep water. Watching the celebration of the great find, you would have thought we found the Titanic. With excitement fueled energy, we worked in between shifts for months raising the ship and restoring it. The group had finally dwindled to three. I read all about how to sail and became the teacher to the others. I was hooked. My sailing adventures led to getting larger and larger sailboats, until I reached the ketch class in the San Juan Islands and the Caribbean. From Sea to Air Flying adventures were next on the list---I wanted to see and feel the excitement from the clouds. My college participation in Advanced Air Force R.O.T.C. afforded me the opportunity to get checked out in single engine prop airplanes. That led to a full year of aviation training and then seven years of flying heavy aircraft over the Pacific from Australia to the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. At Last the Seaplane The most recent chapter in my life involves the thrill and excitement of flying seaplanes—actually landing on the oceans and rivers. With the seaplane I have my boat and aircraft all rolled into one handy adventure machine. Now, I share many of these ‘unusual exploits’ with you. Read About My Book Series
- The Pale Hand of God by S. M. White - 2012-10-18 04:01:34-04
S. M. White survives on a steady diet of Fantasy novels, sweet tea, and procrastination. He has no liking for cold weather or small arrogant animals. In regards to his writings, he is quoted as saying, "I think I'm a swell writer, although I do tend towards the exceptional." Later, he rescinded the latter half of the quote in an effort to seem humble. But the damage was done. Asked to describe himself in one word, Mr. White responded with, "Why?" After a moment of thinking, he said, "Damn, I should have said 'inquisitive.'" Once given a firm shake, Mr. White eventually ceases with the japery and hands over his thoughts on writing fantasy. "I find myself leaning more in the direction of grime and grit and terrible things. I think this is because that aspect of life is the polar opposite of who I am and what I experience. And I find it interesting and engaging to place characters in horrible situations, beneath immeasurable duress, and see how they deal. With fantasy there are few set rules. The whole of my imagination is laid out before me, and often that's unlucky for my characters." He also has two dogs, Alana and Dio, that he scolds hourly, as well as a maddeningly energetic cat named Montoya.

After joining the army D used his free time to focus on his dream of sharing shelf-space with his idols. They say that behind every great man there is a woman pulling the strings, but she lets him dance to his own song whilst being the perfect partner in step. D claims that his books would not have been written without her. David Emrys is not his real name. Nor is D.

Inspired by her childhood, many of the events described in this story are true, including the swarm of ladybugs that covered the author’s body one summer morning (although they didn’t talk). Julie hopes that this book will delight young girls and awaken the true inner princess that lies within all of them.

- Alex by Adam J Nicolai - 2012-10-18 23:04:36-04
Adam J Nicolai lives near Minneapolis, MN with his wife, Joy, and their two children, Isaac and Rydia. He is a life-long nerd, game lover, author, Star Wars fan, Dungeon Master, and amateur game designer, as well as a former policy debate coach. He is currently a Project Manager for a major medical insurance company. He started writing in elementary school, creating Choose-Your-Own-Adventure style books while he was supposed to be listening in class. His creative expressions widened to include video game design; he filled countless additional notebooks with expansive maps, dialog trees, loot lists, game stats, and mechanics. When he got older he was known to occasionally draft his younger cousin into play-testing, and authored three rule sets for role-playing games (which his gaming peers readily play-tested, in role-playing campaigns that lasted for 5 years or more). He attended high school at Park Center Senior High, where he had the distinct privilege of being in Brad Olson and Sue Hein's Humanities class, which fostered his love of creative writing and planted a seed that would sprout many years later. He married his wife, Joy, in 1997. She was seventeen. They promptly moved cross-country together to Washington, DC. Nine months later they decided DC sucked, and moved back to Minnesota, where they have lived happily ever since. Adam self-published his first novel, Alex, in November, 2011 after becoming disillusioned with the traditional publishing industry. You will hear more from him.

He began a long entertainment career first as a short-story writer, started a brief singing career that evolved into acting on television as a regular on “Days of Our Lives” and prime-time shows like “Bewitched” and in films like “Ice Station Zebra.” Bill then took a giant step into film production. He started at the bottom as a production assistant and rapidly became a screenwriter, director and producer of many films and television shows. His favorite genre is family films like “The Man From Clover Grove” with Ron Masak (Sheriff on “Murder She Wrote”) Rose Marie and Paul Winchell, and a cow named Bell; “The Adventures of Ragtime” with Shelley Long, Jay Thomas and of course; a miniature horse named Ragtime; and “Quigley” with Gary Busey, Curtis Armstrong, Christopher Atkins and a dog named Quigley. Part of the fun of being the writer and director is you can pick the subject, so over the years Bill has written, produced and directed other genres like the thriller mystery “Double Exposure,” “The Photographer,” and “Ragin’ Cajun.” As a novelist, Bill has done the same thing writing a variety of subjects and genres like: Zebra’s Rock and Me (a behind the scenes look at making and working in “Ice Station Zebra”), the first in the thriller/mystery/suspense Rollie Kemp series Ghosts and Phantoms Part I The Beginning; a memoir of his life doing things The Hard Way; the second Rollie Kemp thriller series Ghosts and Phantoms Part II The Conclusion; the quirky romantic comedy mystery with many twists and turns Veronique and Murray and now comes the third Rollie Kemp novel April. Bill currently lives in South Carolina with his wife and 16 paws where he is putting the finishing touches on Rollie Kemp’s fourth thriller and a few other surprises.
