James D. Maxon (1977-Present) was born at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska. His parents were divorced when he was just three-years-old. Raised in a strictly female household, James grew up in the midst of mental illness and depression. He, himself, struggled in school due to a learning disability. Without a positive male role model, James learned how difficult it can be for children to realize their true potential. Having acquired a love for fantasy at a young age, he began to write stories of his own, providing children and teens with messages of faith, hope, and insight. Overcoming his disability, James graduated college with a 4.0 GPA. He deepened his connection to the creative world by following a career in design. He now lives with his wife and daughter in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and spends much of his free time applying his imagination to the real world.

  11. Sundered, A Zombie-ish Apocalypse Book 1 - 2012-10-08 17:47:45-04
Reading and writing from a very young age I learned early on that stories built in a fantasy world were where the fun was at. Reading books by Robert Jordan spurred me on and it was the first real epic fantasy that I fell in love with. After that came Piers Anthony, Melanie Rawn and into my older teen years, Anne Rice. It was in Rice's novels that the idea of urban fantasy really bloomed for me and it was about that time that my grandmother was letting me read her Harlequin Historical novels. (Okay, actually she was slipping them to me when my mother wasn't looking, but let's not get picky.) The combination of love stories and darker fantasy stuck with me and it's now not only what I gravitate towards to read on my off time (Kelly Armstrong, Laurell K Hamilton, Kim Harrison), but has become the style I love to write in. Besides writing, I love to spend time with my family and animals, horseback ride, garden and hike with my husband.

  20. Once Upon a Storytime at Christmas – 2 - 2012-10-09 02:56:44-04
Since 2001, Audrey Lee has been writing and sending Christmas in lieu of sending Christmas letters or cards. It has become her tradition to celebrate the season of giving with an original short story for her loved ones. Each one is an allegory that represents a concept she has learned or problem she has struggled with during the year. The catalyst came when Audrey began telling oral stories. Soon, she realized that storytelling was a big part of her past with bedtime stories of Dumbo told by Uncle Doc and Grandpap stories told by Dad. As a parent, she told improvised stories to her boys with their teddy bears, not even remembering that her Uncle used to do for her as well. Oddly enough, it was this new found passion of storytelling “finding her” that encouraged her to actually begin publishing the stories that she had written over the years. “Once Upon a Storytime at Christmas” is the compilation of Christmas stories that she traditionally writes each year during the Holidays, so look for more stories to come. The books, video and audio recordings of these stories are available on her website and Amazon.com. Events with these stories and more can be scheduled by contacting Audrey at: www.profundities.net www.onceuponastorytime.net www.facebook.com/audreyleestoryteller
