Since both were her passions, she says she felt like she never worked a day in her life. In 2006, she became heavily involved in basset rescue and co-founded another one in 2011.

Anne, now retired, decided to move on to her next passion, the love of writing. She and her husband have rescued and fostered basset hounds for 20-years, so as Anne shares, “it felt natural to write children’s books with bassets as the characters. STAN THE MANGRIFFIN Was born in Middletown, Ohio, a small Midwestern town 35 miles north of Cincinnati, Ohio. He is the eleventh child of siblings, the son of a Preacher. The Reverend Felton Griffin Sr. and mother Annie Bea Griffin. Stan grew up in a musical family, most of his brothers and sisters played musical instruments. By the time Stan was fifteen years old, he had become an accomplished musician himself. Learning to play the saxophone at an early age by the time he had reached his teenage years he was already performing in nightclubs with the area local Pop R&B Jazz bands. After high school, Stan moved to California, where he continued to hone his skills in entertaining in the music world and became more known as a lead singer in what we come to know today as boy bands. Opening for such musical acts as the Manhattan’s and Regina Bell. While grooming his musical chops, Stan decided to move back to Ohio, where he recorded his first Contemporary Gospel CD “As One.” He soon followed up his second Contemporary Gospel CD “Wise Men Still Seek Him.” Growing up Stan had already developed his taste for Pop R&B listening to Motown. So, Stan begins writing and recording his first Pop R&B CD demo and turns it into a full-blown CD in which he titled “A Breath of Fresh Air”. Stan followed Fresh Air up with “Spider-Dance, The Spider-Man Theme Song” a brand new tribute to web-slinging Super Hero.

Bruce Blake lives on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. When pressing issues like shovelling snow and building igloos don’t take up his spare time, Bruce can be found taking the dog sled to the nearest coffee shop to work on his short stories and novels.

Actually, Victoria, B.C. is only a couple hours north of Seattle, Wash., where more rain is seen than snow. Since snow isn’t really a pressing issue, Bruce spends more time trying to remember to leave the “u” out of words like “colour” and “neighbour” than he does shovelling (and watch out for those pesky double l’s). The father of two amazing children, Bruce was once the trophy husband of a burlesque diva…not so much anymore.

Bruce’s first short story, “Another Man’s Shoes” was published in the Winter 2008 edition of Cemetery Moon. Another short, “Yardwork,” was made into a podcast in Oct., 2011 by Pseudopod.
