A lot of things can kill you in the Louisiana swamps, not the least of which are water moccasins, alligators, and maybe even something unworldly called a Rougarou. But as the body count rises in this jambalaya mystery, it becomes apparent that the increasing death toll is mostly due to some very bad villains and some very tough law enforcers.

Kristi is a young college graduate from West Texas recently hired and trained by the Treasury Department. While on the hunt for two of her colleagues, she manages to get herself assaulted and lost in the Atchafalaya Basin. Hawk is an ex-military combat vet now working for the United States Ranger Services. He’s asked by his old friend, the Parish Sheriff, to try to find Kristi. What he finds is not only the woman he’s looking for but also a hell of a lot of trouble. Together, Hawk and Kristi wind up in the middle of ruffians, counterfeiters, financial scalawags, and murderers. As they try to figure out what’s happening and why, while continually staying one step ahead of assassins, they begin to form a bond of respect, friendship, and perhaps even more.

Author Riley does a first-rate job of steeping the reader in the milieu of South Louisiana and Cajun mores. From murders at mudbug fests to menacing mosquito swarms to monumentally malevolent snake pits, he puts the heat and humidly on every page. He’s also adept at weaving a spider-webbed plot that is both intricate and credible. There’s action, suspense, humor, and even a dash of romance in this gumbo of a novel that promises to start a series of adventures for Kristi and Hawk.

Like many young men of his age, he had difficulty concentrating on his studies because of a sex-induced attention deficit. Today he had tried meditation to allow concentration on his thesis. Arriving in the Santa Monica Mountains, the antics of a pigeon distracted him. He saw the pigeon captured, and his curiosity piqued, damaged a bird capture device placed there by Pataxis. Eventually, he captured Pataxis, got use of his interplanetary vehicle, and discovered an ancient interstellar vehicle.

Hello everyone my name is Eric Williams Jr. I use the pen name E.J. Williams not only because it is my initials, but because it is the name of my father, who is also a U.S Army veteran, so E.J. is the name I inherited being I was the second. I served in the U.S Army from 2008 to 2012 as both 42A and 13B (13Bang Bang Hooah!), but was unfortunately medically discharged in 2012 due to a back and neck injury. I stumbled into real estate after selling my first home so that my wife could pursue nursing. After that I was hooked on the ROI (return on investment) and wanted to keep going. I then went on and leveraged those earnings to start 2 businesses, I currently run with my wife, and bought the house we have always wanted. I never thought in a lifetime that this would be my life, but here I am living it. I have a passion to assist others in making their dreams a reality as well.

I can’t promise to be an expert at real estate because it is a consent learning game and the cards are always changing, but I do put forth all my effort and want to share this knowledge with anyone wanting to learn.
