Married to the same man for over 25 years, I am a mother to three children and two Miniature Wiener dogs.
After owning a business and experiencing considerable success, my husband and I got caught in the financial crisis and lost everything in 2008; our business, our home, even our car. At this point, I put my B.A. in Poly Sci to use and took work as a waitress and bartender (Insert irony). Unwilling to give up on a professional life, I simultaneously went back to college and obtained a degree in Energy Management.
And then the energy market dropped off.

A series of books detailing a journey of a midwestern girl from South Bend, Indiana with a love for animals surviving child abuse and taking off to explore the American dream. As a female, she faces different women’s challenges that are widely unknown and narrowly discussed. This character calls on the police in times of need and their “help” and service uncovers bigger social and government issues. The character learns politics of our American government the hard way. There’s a psychological response to abuse. The response is similar even when the abuse and the abuser changes. How the victim is treated by law enforcement and the justice system leaves a marked affect on society for generations. There’s an emergent need for America to start getting it right. There’s a sad discussion that needs to be had about what a human is, what their rights are, and what access to justice needs to look like for everyone.
