As a child, Linda was mesmerized by storytellers, and her mother always made sure she had a supply of books close at hand while she was growing up. Sitting on her lap and listening to her read is one of her earliest memories. She recalls drawing pictures and then making up stories to go with them, and as she got older, her stories became longer and more fanciful. I was born in the northwestern German state of Lower Saxony. After graduating from high school, I went to Heidelberg to study. In my case, this magnificent city more than lived up to its reputation because I really did lose my heart there. I still live there – happily married in the meantime – with my husband and my three children.

Since I first learned how to read, I have devoured all kinds of books whether it was secretly under my bedspread at night or during the day in my spare time. I didn’t begin to write until 2013 however. I was pregnant with my third child during that summer and staying at my parents’ house when I was bitten by the bug. Born in Detroit, Michigan, I knew firsthand the incredible energy of diverse ethnicities living together in close proximity.
