An Interview with Cyra May
Cyra May is a pen name for Allyson R. Abbott, who is a Bestselling and Award Winning British author.
Q) Allyson, as an author with an already big following, why did you feel the need to use a pen name?
A) I had all these little snippets of stories in my head, and I felt they would be better represented with a new fresher voice, for a different readership. My bestselling books are longer and although I do write fiction from Sweet to Erotic genres, they tend to focus on the story of the characters, whereas Cyra May (in the Professional series) will be able to pop in and out of the character lives and tell a little snippet of a sexy adventure.
Q) Where did you get the idea of the Professionals from?
A) I wanted to do a series, but I didn’t want to use the same characters. It was just a way to be able to have different settings and also make each story unique.
Q) I have noticed all the stories are quite short, in fact about 30 minute reads. Was there a reason for this?
A) Yes. Women are very busy people, especially housewives and mothers. They sometimes only have a few minutes to sit and read. Or maybe a quick read to relax before going to bed..Haha, although I’m not sure these stories are good for relaxing to, they may get the adrenaline pumping.

Rats, Mice and Other Things You Can’t Take to The Bank, An Inspirational Collection of Essays From Humorous to Simply Human by Leslie Handler
About Rats, Mice and Other Things You Can’t Take to The Bank, An Inspirational Collection of Essays From Humorous to Simply Human by Leslie Handler
From an award-winning syndicated columnist comes a collection of essays-sometimes nourishing, sometimes passionate, sometimes humorous, and always relatable.
Read this book if you are feeling sad. Read this book if you need a good chuckle. Read this book so that you never ever feel like you’re alone.
In one of the essays the author summarizes her embarrassment for not being supportive of her husband. She writes “When you’re sad, you get the kind [of tears] that roll down your cheek flowing freely. They drip down your collar and snot up your nose. No. These were different. These were tears of shame and embarrassment…These were tears that didn’t want to puddle or roll. These were tears that didn’t want to come out at all but couldn’t help themselves as they reluctantly dripped sideways into the hairline instead of following gravity down the face. These were my tears.”
These essays shine light into the soul and leave it wide open for all to see. This gifted storyteller is a keen observer of her own human nature and is not shy about sharing it.
Part memoir, part essay collection, Rats, Mice, and Other Things You Can’t Take to the Bank is written with both wit and charm. It will take you on a ride from finding a mouse in the house to the mortgage crisis. It’s so engaging that you may just might find yourself wondering how your own personal stories ended up in it!

When the Station’s governing Council, of which his own father is a member, announces plans to reconstruct the sector and demolish the Black Heart, Josh forms a movement and leads a desperate battle to stop the demolition.
But can his tiny army of followers thwart the all-powerful Council in time to avert catastrophe?

UK-based writer Andrew Reeves aims to inspire his readers with stories they won’t forget. In his pursuit to be creative, Andrew is many things: author, screenwriter, poet, composer, songwriter, musician, designer, cartoon illustrator and proofreader to name a few. In addition to novel writing, Andrew has written several screenplays and short stories of varying genres, including tales for younger readers, and has proudly co-created over 3,600 silly words with crazy definitions, compiled as a nonsense dictionary which he and his fellow co-writer hope will very soon see the light of day.
Andrew also spent a handful of years designing downloadable multiplayer levels for Star Wars PC game Jedi Academy under the pseudonym of Several Sided Sid, faithfully re-creating iconic scenes from the movies and creating brand new environments for the gaming world to explore and use as skirmish arenas for online battles. Andrew’s original creative love has always been his writing, and it’s the pen he wields now instead of the sword (hey, it’s mightier).
Andrew recently had his short comedy sketch The Wall printed in the inaugural issue of Scaffolding Literary Magazine, published by Jalapeño Publishing, and is thrilled to say his tiny little fairytale screenplay THE LEGEND OF STONY BOB AND STONY BILL achieved Semi Finalist position at the Shortcut 100 Chicago Short Film Festival 2017. He is currently hoping to take his Legend to the big screen!
Andrew is perhaps most notably the author of YA Sci-Fi novel THE EMPTY WORLD, which begins the adventures of fourteen-year-old Danny Ringrose, whose father Robert is a renowned scientist who has cracked the secret of cloning stones and created a carbon copy of Planet Earth in a manmade parallel universe, as an intended home for Mankind, once our current home world will no longer be able to support us. Yet Danny’s father’s benefactor is evil megalomaniac Rasmus Creece, who has been secretly shadowing all of Robert’s work, re-engineering it to create a frightening contraption known as the Big Bang Machine.
Danny, brave and biologically upgraded by his father’s Human Enhancement Program, long-abandoned by the military following revelations super-soldiers had been created in a Lab, must prevent Rasmus from ever using his Machine. But first Danny must learn of the real reason his parents have gone missing, and follow them to his father’s Empty World, where more than just a new hope for humanity awaits…

Talee and the Fallen Object
About Talee and the Fallen Object
One early Saturday morning, Talee has nothing to do. I mean nothing at all. So she eats a puffy muffin and decides to read one of her favorite books, Captain Jewel and the Lost City Treasure. Just when she’s about to start chapter three, out of the corner of her eye she sees a mail flyer drop something from a bag. It falls through the air and lands on one of the smaller floating landmasses surrounding her family’s home. A bag of treasure! She thinks as she looks out the window. But is it?
Talee and the Fallen Object is a great elementary school-aged children’s book, as it will transport kids to Talee’s world, as seen through her own eyes. She creates vivid images from beginning to end as her curiosity piques when she sees an object fall from the backpack of a mail flyer and journeys out to see what it is. Don’t miss this unique adventure.

The Sword Swallower and a Chico Kid
About The Sword Swallower and a Chico Kid
The Sword Swallower and a Chico Kid was inspired from my friendship with a retired circus sideshow sword swallower. The following are excepts from a recent review of my book:
“The Sword Swallower and a Chico Kid is a novel that covers decades of time, and travels both North American coasts. The book opens with a scene with an older couple and their young grandson, the grandfather receiving some sad news. The remainder of the story is broken down into three parts that set the events that gave birth to that scene.
Part one introduces Duke Reynolds, the sword swallower. Duke is a member of a traveling circus as one of the side show attractions. In addition to sword swallowing and other daring acts, Duke is also heavily tattooed in a time when tattoos were largely worn by convicts and military. Diving into his vices, demons, and passions, the part covering Duke is the most detailed, and arguably the most poignant part of the tale.
The second part, aptly called The Destructive Path of a Chico Kid, introduces Gary. Gary is a young man moving from High School to college, trying to find his way in life, largely without success. From the more conventional self destructive paths of fervent drug and alcohol abuse, to, thankfully, less common methods like hosting a party that results in the barbecue of a wooly mammoth, and making rent by allowing strangers to staple cash to his chest, Gary tried them all.
The book is wrapped up with the third part exploring the relationship of the two men, brought together by happenstance. By this point, Duke seems to have slain most of his dragons and serves as a most unorthodox life coach of sorts to Gary.
Duke is one of the most well developed characters I have experienced in a long while. His love for his fellow circus performers, and the circus as a whole, is nearly palpable. Duke is clearly someone who loves without reservation, a trait that probably contributes to the abuse of his vices. For all of his inadequacies: drug and alcohol abuse and impulsive and risky behavior, his love for, and protection of, those he cares about is most defining of him.
Duke is not an exception; the author did a fantastic job creating distinct and vibrant characters throughout the book. From the other circus performers like Wubby, a developmentally delayed adult, to Julian, one of the first people Gary meets when he arrived on his college campus, nearly everyone Robinson creates is memorable.
Another surprising aspect of The Sword Swallower and a Chico Kid is the social commentary woven throughout the book. This was surprising not only in that it existed, but also that it was done in a manner that avoided sounding preachy.
Overall, this was an absolutely delightful tale. I will be on the lookout for other works by Gary Robinson as I am now sold on his ability to tell a great story.”
When I finished this book, I thought I had written a very wonderful tale. The glowing reviews I have been receiving have been very heartwarming and humbling.
