About The Defiled

“The Defiled” is an apocalyptic horror novel set in modern times. It is based on the Seven Plagues of the Revelations of St John, and sees the planet rapidly beset by a series of disasters that eventually lead to the “End Times”. The book covers in detail how each plague impacts the Earth, and how the planets population try to deal with it.
The End Times are brought about by a race of aliens called the Archons, who have been trapped on Earth for thousands of years, waiting and preparing for a cosmic alignment that happens once every 30,000 years. By bringing about the Seven Plagues, they will, amongst other things, alter the electrical resonance of the Earth and open an intergalactic wormhole that allows their space fleet to arrive from another galaxy. The fleet is a terraforming operation, the plan being to strip the Earth of all its resources, including the human population.
They also have unwitting human agents who do their bidding, the main Antagonist being Victor McKenna (a descendent of a race of people called the Amalekites). He is a disfigured multi billionaire whose corporation is key to the Archon plans. His company creates an injectable microchip which starts off the first plague, the chip causing a rare form of skin cancer in millions of people. Those same people are then driven mad by the fourth plague when a Coronal Mass Ejection fries the chip in their implant sending a neural shock wave through their brains. The transcription of the seven plagues is not so much prophecy as a blueprint for planetary colonisation, making the Earth more hospitable for the Archon strip miners as well as weakening humanity enough that they can be taken in their billions. The Archons feed off negative, fear based human emotions. The Seven plagues are supposed to be the precursor to the unlocking of the gates of hell, but what they actually do is bring a living Hell to the planets population.
A second race of aliens, known only as the Nordics, have created a group of genetic clone warriors called Guardians who reside on Earth, and have been here for generations. Their sole job is to protect a select number of humans called the Chosen who will be transported off planet before the Archon fleet arrives (the Nordics know that the worm hole will re-open, they just don’t know when). The Chosen all have the purest form of human DNA and they are protected and rescued so that the Nordics can preserve the human race. They have a philosophy of minimal interference whilst doing what they can to maintain the cosmic order. One of the Guardians, Valentina is the antihero. She helps save the protagonist from what is coming.
The Main protagonist in the novel is Charles Grader, a Cambridge Emeritus Professor of Abrahamic studies who is mysteriously sent a digital copy of what is purported to be an actual transcription of St Johns prophecy. He is one of the Chosen, and after being caught in a terrorist bombing, spends 3 years in a coma. When he comes round he has a deep understanding of the seven plagues, and starts to witness them unfold. He flees with Valentina, only to find that the promised safe haven is actually off planet Earth.
