Richard Ferguson was born in Houston, Texas. He spent time on his grandfather’s ranch in New Mexico most summers until he was nineteen when he joined the Army. He still has the first short story he wrote when he was five. In it, a boy finds an injured prairie dog and nurses it back to health. Richard must have already had a flair for the surprise ending, or a short attention span, because at the end the boy throws the prairie dog back into the ocean and it swims away to live happily ever after. An interesting bit of extreme trivia is that Walter Cronkite and Richard did the same things. Richard was an editor for the Purple Pup at Lanier Junior High School in Houston and so was Cronkite. Richard wrote for the Lamar High School paper and so did Cronkite. Richard wrote for the University of Texas newspaper and so did Cronkite. In the Army, Richard wrote for the Stars and Stripes. He now lives in Mexico with Hamish and Poochie, his two canine friends who he saved one way or another.

Hello readers, This is my first book and it was published just prior to my 79th birthday.
I was born on a farm in West Virginia, the youngest of 6 and nine years younger than my closest sibling. We moved to another farm in Ohio when I was six and I grew up there.
At sixteen I thought I knew just about everything and there having been no one in my family who had ever finished high school, much less gone to college I quit school. Bad move and I knew it immediately but it wasn’t until years later when my oldest son graduated from high school that I decided to correct my mistake. I went to night school and obtained my GED. That felt so good I signed up for some college courses and within three years had a BS in Accounting. That was 35 years ago. Since that time I have had many jobs and learned many things. Today at 79 I am still an active Real Estate Broker and a Wedding Officiant in the Fort Lauderdale area. I the mother of four, grandmother of ten and great grandmother or seven. Life is good. I live with a wonderful little dog named Molly and seven cats. I also feed the ducks. I am quite good with all things computer and I just received an Echo from Amazon for Christmas. Kelly Clayton is originally from Scotland but has lived in the Channel Island of Jersey for most of her life.
