All of the books in the Jackson Silver GFC series have humans as the central species as Jackson himself is human. Although there aren’t any in this particular book, there are alien races which Jackson and his Commandos come face to face with, fight for survival against and interact with in other ways. Galactic Fleet Commandos form a large part of Galactic Allied’s military strength and are a major element of the Galactic Fleet. Galactic Allied is the overarching authority which oversees the human race’s existence throughout the galaxy, in a similar way that the Empire in Star Wars, the Federation in Star Trek and the Imperium in 40K do in their respective universes. The Galactic Fleet is made up of five branches; the Galactic Fleet Commandos (GFC), the Galactic Fleet Armada (GFA), the Galactic Fleet Intelligence Corps (GFIC), the Galactic Fleet Science Division (GFSD), and the Galactic Fleet Logistics Command (GFLC). It’s the Galactic Fleet that probes the galaxy for new worlds, new species and new technology. Exploratory missions are sent out from earth into the void comprising small contingents from each of the Galactic Fleet’s branches. These exploratory missions can be vulnerable to hostile attack from space pirates, alien explorers or the indigenous life forms of the planets they discover. This is where the GFC and GFA come into the picture. They provide defensive security and offensive military force when and where it’s needed. Both branches are equipped with state of the art technology and weaponry giving them the capability to deal with pretty much whatever comes their way……or does it?

Bar Room Blitz is the very first story I wrote for the Jackson Silver GFC series. The story actually takes place quite a way through his timeline and is a snapshot of a stand alone event rather than being part of a large story line. I felt it a good place to introduce the world to Jackson, the GFC and the universe of 27th century Galactic Allied.

James Goldsworthy was born in 1977. He lives in a small village in Buckinghamshire in the United Kingdom with his partner Sarah and their dogs Paddy and Lucy. He lost his sight in December 2005 after a 22 month battle with diabetic retinopathy. Since losing his vision he has retrained as a career development coach and assistive technology trainer.

Ann Elwood lives in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California, with two cats, a desert tortoise, six box turtles, and a German shepherd, Louis, who looks something like Rin Tin Tin in his soulfulness.
She grew up in Saddle River, New Jersey. After college, she taught elementary school for a few miserable years, then moved to Camden, New Jersey and landed a job as a typist-clerk at the Philadelpha Bulletin. When her boss discovered she had difficulty typing up circulation figures with twelve carbons, she was fired and found another job writing copy for a paternalistic insurance company that offered a low salary and delicious free lunch.
Eventually she moved to a studio apartment on Irving Place in New York City, and, after a few months of writing copy for a textbook company, went on to freelance as a writer of anything anyone would pay her for. In 1967, she moved to Los Angeles, where she was advertising manager for a publishing company. Then the West Coast was a mecca for writers and adventurers. Within a couple of years, she visited a Malibu beach house, fell in love (long-distance) with Bob Dylan, met Thomas Pynchon (he wouldn’t remember it), and saw Hair. In 1972, she returned to freelancing. The following year she moved to Cardiff. She wrote articles for Irving Wallace and his son, David Wallichinsky (People’s Almanac and Book of Lists), and did other wonderful things she won’t mention here. With Carol Orsag Madigan, she wrote several non-fiction books.
A desire to delve more deeply into ideas finally drove her to graduate school in 1981. Her dissertation focused on an order of 17th and 18th century French nuns so she had to spend a happy year in France doing research. During that year, while not in the archives, she drank local wine with fellow historians and traveled the country with her dog Puppy, who had far less trouble than she did communicating with the French.
Now, she teaches history part-time at California State University, San Marcos, spends time with Louis and the other animals, and writes the books she has always wanted to write but never had the time for.

Arwilda Allshouse was born to parents of Pennsylvania Deutsch lineage and kept in touch with her grandparents until their death. Her father still spoke Deutsch and she is familiar with the mores of most Amish. She has endeavored to keep her stories truthful, though fiction. Although conservative, in lifestyle and religion, she did not dress plain or wear a prayer kapp and the Amish would have called her “fancy Dutch” due to her father painting folk decorations.

The oldest girl of nine children, Wilda, grew up in an Anabaptist home, spending her whole life in the small Pennsylvania community which nurtured her and her family. Most of her upbringing was simple and rural. She learned as a child, to can her own vegetables, make her own clothes and cook on a wood stove. Her family did not own a car, but did have a tractor. Wilda however preferred to ride horseback to the stream where she and her eight siblings fished on many a Saturday afternoon. When she married her now late husband Calvin, she was baptized Lutheran.

She has always loved to read romance, and dreamed of writing and publishing stories, but never seemed to have the time…or the means until ebooks. Wilda has always felt that God has always played a central role in her life and has tried to offer simple work and love in a prayerful way. Hi !
I am a hobby author, and I write mostly sci fi. This novel was originally published as a short story on Wattpad in 2015, but I had more to say so I wrote the book. I write as a hobby and short stories are my favorite form of expression. Please also check out my sci-fi anthologies “Hemingway’s Cats” and “Out of Time: amazing stories for wo-men” on Kindle.

I live on the little island of Kauai, “the Garden Isle”, a beautiful tropical paradise in Hawaii, with two overfed cats in an old house full of geckos. By day, I work in a medical lab and I write when I can. My other hobbies are snorkeling, cooking and sleeping *yawn*

Rebecca Barrett writes historical fiction, post-apocalyptic fiction (writing as Campbell O’Neal), children’s stories, and short stories of life in the South. An avid reader all her life and a product of “front porch” socializing, she became a story-teller at an early age.

Her current novel, Trouble in Dixie (available August 14, 2017), features that handsome, sleek, black cat detective, Trouble.
