Author Bio:
I’ve been writing since 2007 and the fire is only getting stronger for creating well-developed characters, interesting worlds, memorable dialogues, and action-packed scenes.

My first degree is Ancient Art and Archaeology, and I have a fondness for self-development/spirituality, so I combined these two ideas in the Memoirs of Nathanial Kenworthy series.

When I thought about an action and adventure series, I didn’t want to create the main character just with brawn, I wanted to add spirituality and social consciousness as well. One reader commented that my protagonist was like Indiana Jones but with a conscience… that was rewarding.

Along with writing, I’m a painter (of abstracts, since I can’t draw realistic looking subjects or objects) and photographer (one showing in my home town of photos taken while visiting China). It’s important to experience different things in life, even though I’m not an expert, it’s fun and rewarding to dig your heels in and Just Do It as Nike says. The journey is the reward and not the final destination.

I hope that you enjoy Viking Battle Cry and other books in the series.

The Real World Episode 1 Doilies, Tiaras and Blood by Andrew Richey

About The Real World Episode 1 Doilies, Tiaras and Blood by Andrew Richey

Windwalker was a fresh-faced veteran of the Orc Wars. The only reason she was fresh-faced was that she was an Elf, and they always appeared that way. Windwalker was tired of war, tired of battles, tired of adventuring in general and tired of being tired. So what if she could kill an Orc at two hundred paces with an arrow through the aorta or surgically cut open an enemy with a sword so that his entrails spilled out neatly to form an exact replica of The Ministry of Helpfulness. Grux the Dwarf was a mountain that had been compressed into a brawling mauling hillock and then tipped over, so that he was seemingly wider than he was tall. Loyal to his friends, lover of doilies and tidiness but grumpy as a matter of pride and able to kill a man with his pinkie; a conglomerate of contradictions. Greystone the Wizard was a well-spoken, very tall and a tad bit mischevious. He preferred spells that caused gerbils to be stuck in a friends trousers than a searing hot fireball that would melt someone form the inside-out. What they all had in common was that they hated bureaucracy and their world had been buried under an avalanche of paperwork,,, thanks to the Gnomes. The actual Ministry of Helpfulness was an endless array of bureaucratic, bespectacled, nosy and annoyingly busy Gnomes who never stopped shuffling paper in a precision guided attempt at keeping everything the same as it always was in: The Capital. Time to get out of the mire of rules, and back to the Real World with its bullets and computers and private detectives?-absolutely.

During the next harvesting season, he was finally found and raised by passing gypsies, who amazingly taught him how to do long multiplication and division before he started school, much to the chagrin of his Kindergarten teacher, who promptly kicked him up to grade one.
Andrew was good at school till the boredom set in and was no good at study till he was 25.
He found that he liked writing and performing comedy at about the same time and he got to do this in a large Pentecostal Church. Yes, you read that correctly. Eventually, he left such things behind and now does crazy things like perform improv theatre, and write and perform short stories, comedy and poetry.
He has an honours degree in theology, though is not religious; and has various qualifications in disability, business, counselling and even shamanism!

The Trouble With Rainbows by Susan Aylworth

About The Trouble With Rainbows by Susan Aylworth

Angelica DeForest feels her life has never begun.

Painfully shy and socially inept, she has spent her adult years tending aging, bitter relatives. She promises herself she will try to be bolder, to reach out to others and maybe even (gasp!) socialize. She certainly does not intend to begin experimenting with Joe Vanetti, the high school Golden Boy she remembers as being so perfect, so far above her.

Joe Vanetti was deeply in love with his late wife, Roberta, and even thinking of another woman feels disloyal. Although he feels his emotional life has ended with his wife’s, he still has their children to raise. He has returned to Rainbow Rock to bring them near his family. He is not looking for romance and surely does not expect to find it with the high school Ice Queen he remembers as being so aloof and “stuck-up,” so far above him.

Do Joe and Angelica have more in common than a mutual attraction and the misery of loneliness?

To build a future together, they will have to discover healing, recovery, and the will to begin again.

Author Bio:
uthor Christopher Hepworth has been a professional negotiator for over thirty years, with some of the largest and best-known companies in the world. He has won numerous prestigious awards in his chosen profession of procurement and developed many of the strategies and techniques that are now widely used across the industry. He has spent half a lifetime working for an array of colourful captains of industry, some inspirational; others downright terrifying. He often wonders how these desk warriors would cope if they were confronted with real-life, world threatening global emergencies rather than plotting their own narrow-minded corporate agendas. With the magic of fiction, Christopher Hepworth has created a wonderful set of characters he hopes will put the fear of God into his readers, adding to the list of threats already facing humanity.

Born in the UK in 1961 and raised in Zambia in central Africa like his hero, Wilbur Smith, Christopher Hepworth now lives in Sydney, Australia with his wife, Anne and four children. Much of the spare time he finds for writing comes while watching his children play representative cricket. It’s amazing how many sentences can be written in between the fall of wickets.

The exotic characters in his books reflect his fascination with the charismatic and proud, but often maligned warrior nations around the world, whose stories are screaming to be told. In his books, Christopher Hepworth’s desk-bound corporate warriors come face to face with those proud peoples, who have suffered the misfortunes of fate and history but their dignity and aspirations remain intact.

Christopher Hepworth has created a new brand of hero for the twenty-first century. Like James Bond, or the lawyers of John Grisham’s thrillers, Sam Jardine must use his occupational skills to thwart the ambitions of ruthless villains who seek to subordinate the world with their depraved sense of moral values. Armed only with a sense of justice, respect for ancient warrior cultures and an extraordinary talent for negotiation, can he win the day or will he be engulfed in the cesspit of corporate politics? For the sake of world peace, let’s hope Sam Jardine is up to the task.

Author Bio:
It was a Tuesday, the first night RF Hurteau sat down to pour souls into the characters of Antiquity’s Gate. The air was thick with the drone of insects, and the humidity so heavy that it felt as though she were trying to type underwater. None of that mattered. There were bigger things at stake than discomfort. A world hung in the balance, somewhere between existence and the black hole of the “Don’t save” button.

Who is this author, shrouded in mystery, with sticky notes lining the walls of her Massachusetts home and a face lit by the soft glow of a Mac screen set to the lowest brightness level? What secrets has she shared, and which are yet hidden? Armed with only an endless pot of coffee, she has set out to make the world a better place through stories and characters that are complex, relatable, put your emotions through the wringer, and leave you feeling richer for having experienced them.

R.F. Hurteau is an avid consumer of sci-fi and fantasy media of all types, and has found herself influenced by many authors and shows over the years, most especially those with the ability to completely immerse the reader in the trials and tribulations of the characters. When she’s not writing, she enjoys teaching her five kids the subtle art of snark, watching their antics, or gathering round for a few episodes of Star Trek or Naruto.

We Won’t Go Quietly: A Family’s Struggle to Survive in a World Devolved (Book Three of the What’s Left of My World Series) by C.A.Rudolph

About We Won’t Go Quietly: A Family’s Struggle to Survive in a World Devolved (Book Three of the What’s Left of My World Series) by C.A.Rudolph

We Won’t Go Quietly is the third installment of a captivating post-apocalyptic story of a family’s survival.

Lauren Russell, her family, and the community of Trout Run Valley have been blessed with a workable blueprint for overcoming nearly insurmountable odds—odds that have surmounted against them and others like them, since the blackout, subsequent decline of society, and the world’s devolution.

The aftermath of the most recent onslaught; a ruthless attack by a menacing enemy, has left them reeling in its wake, leaving a once-sustainable food supply damaged beyond repair and two of their own senselessly murdered. Rebuilding will require time—time they no longer have—following the discovery of yet another tribulation in this unending apocalypse.

When various species of wildlife that the community has depended on for life-giving food begin to abruptly die off and several residents become afflicted with an unidentified illness, it soon becomes evident that another adversary, one that former DHS Agent Christian had forewarned of in earnest, has not yet written them off.

A decision is made in desperation. Several inhabitants must leave the safety and security of the valley that once provided them with so much plenty and venture out into the precarious unknown that lays beyond its borders, in search of medical assistance and to acquire provisions or otherwise, become victims of the atrocious actions enacted by constituents of the former federal government.

Meanwhile, Lauren’s grandmother, Faith Gallo, has been amassing her own form of defiance inside the FEMA camp she and hundreds of others have unwillingly been confined to. However, her actions have not gone unnoticed. Threats are made and an ultimatum is given, yet Faith stands her ground, refusing to submit. An unwavering response to her oppressors draws a line firmly into the sand and indicates a promise that a revolution beckons, even in event of her death:

WE WON’T GO QUIETLY

Refugee

About Refugee

Reece Pocock has written an authoritative and intimate story of two families brought together by war and peace; in the process, he creates a fine study of how ordinary people are swept along by political and military events over which they have no control but which continue to colour their daily lives, said reviewer, Boris of Adelaide.

In North Africa in the 1940s, two men – Bill, an Australian and Rolf, a German – confront each other in a one-to-one fight in the vicious battles around Tobruk. Both are forever scared physically and mentally. Later, when Rolf is fighting in Italy, he learns of the Dresden fire bombing, deserts and returns home to find his family dead or dying. Rolf flees Germany and takes the identity of a dead companion, winding up in a displaced persons camp in France, from where he eventually migrates to Australia. The Australians meanwhile are withdrawn from North Africa and fight in the Pacific. In Papua-New Guinea, Bill is exposed to the horrors of jungle warfare and is invalided out of the army.

Five years after the War, Bill and Rolf meet each other by chance in Australia without knowing who the other is, and strike up a working relationship. Some of the locals resent the arrival of German migrants and Rolf is the subject of abuse and violence. When Rolf and Bill’s sister Elaine fall in love, family resistance is strengthened. Rolf eventually realises that it was Bill who wounded him in North Africa and must decide whether to forgive and forget or whether to seek revenge.

Pocock evokes powerful imagery of the viciousness of war in both the desert and the jungle as well as convincingly portraying how men respond under enormous stress.

The dissonance between men at war and men in peace is a central theme of the book

Over 50, Not Over The Hill by Lucy Reinbott

About Over 50, Not Over The Hill by Lucy Reinbott

People are living longer more active lives, and don’t believe that once they hit 50, it is time for pipe and slippers. They are often newly divorced and realise they don’t have to spend the rest of their lives alone but it’s still difficult to meet people. Online dating has seen a surge in popularity in recent times and any stigma associated with it is vanishing.

You can meet people who share your interests, and if you are shy or introverted, it’s a great way to build a relationship before you have to meet in person.
