Think of it as a combination of Orwell’s Big Brother and The Usual Suspects.
It’s 50 years in the future. It’s still America, just not an America that anyone will recognize.
The government’s evil reach chokes its citizens. So much that they, the people of the United States, have started a secret revolution. Their target? The tyrannical establishment that means to keep the people oppressed.
A small band of anti-government citizens fights in Minneapolis. Their unseen leader, Selmo Nithiw, has a part for each of them to play in the battle.
Their weapon of choice is not a gun, but computers and people. Hopefully, with scores of planted people, they can bring their government to its knees and regain the power.
Led by a misfit known as Trent, one group works feverishly to save the government’s latest nabbed Glitched citizen – Trent’s friend Lucy. Time is against them; they’ll have 12 hours to try and save her. If that’s what is truly best for all parties.
Will Lucy live? Will Trent and his gang be discovered? Will Selmo Nithiw show himself? Will America survive?

Surviving the Michigan blackout of 2003, a tiny seed sprouted in author e a lake’s mind. A dystopian/post-apocalyptic dream some years later gave life to The Darkness and WWIV (World War 4).
lake puts his storytelling ability to paper. He creates tales for the post-apocalyptic world in his WWIV series with the likes of George Orwell as a mentor (they share a birth date and actual first name – not George) Even his mother finds these tales disturbing, compliment or not.
Born to average means in southern Wisconsin, in his younger days he spent a great deal of time in the outdoors with his father. Now, lake breaks out of his boring “day” mold (where he works as an accountant) to dare readers to enter the world of The Darkness, highlighting the struggles of the average person (men, women, and children) in a time no one ever hopes to see.

Then, in September, 1918, disaster struck. Villagers sickened in rapid succession in the flu pandemic that killed quickly and indiscriminately throughout the world. Author Bio:
Millys Altman was born March 16, 1921 in Uledi, Pennsylvania, (Revere) the village that is the setting for this book. The family moved to nearby Uniontown, Pennsylvania, when she was four years old. She still lives there.
She graduated from Hood College with a degree in Home Economics, which she taught in a local junior high school for two years. In 1942, she became a war bride, and for the next three years she followed her Navy Lieutenant husband to wherever he was stationed. When his beach battalion unit embarked for the Pacific, she came home.
After the war, Altman’s husband practiced architecture, and she had a family of three sons. She didn’t start to write until the boys were in their teens because she never could find the time. Besides nurturing the boys, she was a companion to her husband who was a great outdoorsman. He taught her to hunt and fish, and they traveled all over the country for sporting trips. For three weeks every fall, they floated the Snake River and hunted deer and antelope in Wyoming.
Altman’s husband was a car buff, and like father, like son, so were the boys. The older two became professional sports car racers. Altman bravely went to the tracks and watched them race their Porsche, and out of her experiences came her young-adult novel Racing in Her Blood. For her next book, she turned the many enchanting stories of her small town that she heard growing up during the golden age of the coal and coke era into an historical mystery Iinnocent Strangers.
