My old life was boring. At times, it felt deathly so. I worked many hours more than the typical 40 per week. I was paid a pittance relative to my contributions. Almost a decade of my life was “lived” in this manner. Each day became a little less bright. So I made a change. I moved cross-country to a new city. Austin welcomed me with open arms.

I wanted a profession that valued creativity and imagination — something I could make me happy doing. Every night I would fall asleep to wonderfully crafted worlds. (We owe many thanks to numerous amazing authors for providing an escape from the tedium of our own lives.)

I switched careers. Now I write. I desire to contribute to the enjoyment of others. I have so many stories, so many characters in my head that would otherwise disappear if I didn’t. At the very least, I hope my stories can satisfy and entertain my children.

My greatest enjoyments are plots advancing at a brisk pace with protagonists pitted against overwhelming odds set in epic universes. I will strive for such qualities in my novels.

I am not partial to one genre. By the time I have written my last book, I would hope to have a series in every possible category of fiction.

If I’m not writing, you can probably find me people watching on 6th street or Congress, at one of the many concerts or festivals throughout Austin, or asleep next to my best friend, my Shih Tzu puppy, the protector of my backyard, the keeper of flatulence, the first of his name, the one and only, General Tso.
