   Jennie M. Bragaw was born in Fresno, California, and spent much of her childhood in the San Joaquin Valley, where she was often pulled from school to work in the fields. As a child, she and her family worked the fields from Salinas, California to Yuma, Arizona.

   She has lived and traveled throughout the United States and in Europe.

   Jennie has worked as an elementary school teacher and raised two children. She is a member of the American Library Association and the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She participated in two author panels regarding children’s literature at the Latino Book and Family Festival at California State University, San Bernardino. She travels extensively throughout California reading her books to children, and donating her books to libraries, schools and homes for children.

In his earlier years the elder Kadashan was a friend and guide to John Muir who is credited to discovering Glacier Bay in southeast Alaska. In his later his sunset years he was known as a “peace Maker” among the Tlingit people in his region. The younger Kadashan takes pride in his Tlingit name, and in his writings he keeps his focus on a positive note. He was born in Sitka, Alaska, but raised in Yakutat, where his ancestral roots come from. He is deeply rooted in his history and culture and concentrates on the premise of his book—the Natural Law. Kadashan graduated from a high school boarding and attended Sheldon Jackson College in Sitka and finished his college studies at Brigham Young University. Kadashan is retired as a commercial fisherman and his tribal government responsibilities. He lives in Yakutat, Alaska with his wife where he now spends most of his time writing.

    Andrea Downing likes to say that when she decided to do a Masters Degree, she made the mistake of turning left out of New York instead of right to the west, and ended up in the UK.
