- Born of Oak and Silver by Marie McKean
About Born of Oak and Silver by Marie McKean:YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE LIFE YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN.
All that you can do is make the most of what you’ve been dealt—fight a good fight, resist being beaten by circumstance, and hope that somehow, despite it all, you’re able to accomplish the impossible.
But even then you cannot change the fact that you were born cursed.
I am one of those unlucky few upon whom the Curse of the Four Fathers has fallen.
It is I who must bear the burden of having a life that is unchangeably intertwined with the Fae. A sorrow made all the more great by knowing that where they are tragedy, loss, misery, and despair most assuredly follow.
As a Druid it is my responsibility to uphold the boundaries that keep the worlds of the Tylwyth Teg, and our own, separate. As a man it is my only ambition to protect the family and woman I so desperately love.
The only problem: I’m not sure this curse will allow for me to do both.

- The Law of Nature and Nature’s God, by Kadashan
About The Law of Nature and Nature’s God, by Kadashan:Kadashan’s nonfiction book, 67,000 words, is a collection of essays he designed particularly for the Juneau Empire, the capital city of Alaska’s newspaper; his column was called Kadashan’s Corner. He wrote his column for 6 years and served 12 years as the elected tribal president of the Yakutat Tlingit Tribe. He writes about the U.S. and Alaska tribal governments
The premise of Kadashan’s articles is focused on the Natural Law. He discusses how the Founding Fathers based the U.S. Constitution of the United States on the laws of nature and the laws of God. He also tells about how the Native American knew, understood and lived the Natural Law. In the essay Native American Influence he informs readers about how the Founding Fathers used the concepts of the Iroquois nation to form how the federal government was structured. Find out how the Indian Nation was pondered by the Founders to be the 14th colony and why it didn’t happen. The book is divided into four parts: Native American Influence, the Natural Law, features about the Alaska Native Brotherhood, and reclaiming our power as true blooded Americans.
In his capacity as a tribal president, Kadashan actively participated in self- governance meetings and conferences throughout the United State, including Washington D.C., and was able to rub elbows with prominent tribal leaders, and people in the governmental agencies. Kadashan used his experience and knowledge as a tribal leader to pen his thoughts about tribal governments and their relationship with the federal government. He writes about how the Native American leader’s progressed through promoting their own initiatives to advance more self-governance for themselves.
Kadashan has strong opinions about the political arena in America, and many of his essays talk about why America is struggling politically, economically and socially, and what needs to be done to get back on track. He proves in his work, such as his essay called Where Does Goodness Come From that our country’s dilemmas are spiritual and morale ones. In his essays, Socialism and The Effects of Socialism in America his purpose in these narratives is to bring to our remembrance why our country is being lead toward the road to socialism. There is also a compelling essay called Legal Plunder, Contrary to the Natural Law that also deals with the government making illegal problems into laws.

- Letting Go into Perfect Love: Discovering the Extraordinary After Abuse
About Letting Go into Perfect Love: Discovering the Extraordinary After Abuse:Letting Go Into Perfect Love is about the shared path we travel to wholeness. Though our stories are unique, we all know heartache and joy. I would never have chosen my life difficulties, yet after the storms had passed and the rains lifted, I saw the blessings in my destiny through the steps I had taken towards wholeness.
As a college administrator, my work was visible and accountable. No one knew that after hours and behind closed doors, I experienced the terror of domestic violence. It was my secret; it was my shame. When my children came to know that same fear, however, I could no longer pretend that all was well. I pursued counseling and other processes that prompted healing, and as I did so, the once-closed door to my heart opened to the extraordinary.
Letting Go into Perfect Love will evoke tears of joy and sadness, but more than anything it will bring you home to your own heart. You’ll be inspired by stories of triumph over adversity and will learn how to forgive the unforgiveable, recover joy, respect past choices, and honor the sacred journey home.
