Apoca[hot]lips by Paula Houseman
About Apoca[hot]lips by Paula Houseman
Up yours! It’s a ballsy attitude for a child, and one that served Ruth (Roth) Gold well back then. It’s one she desperately needs to revive now.
After her divorce, Ruth finds the love of her life: Herself. And she’s in a happy place … until a geeky, sexy, god-like man fronts up and fulfils her forgotten little-girl fantasies. He tells her she’s ‘The One’.
Talk about screwing everything up!
A romance with him seems so wrong, yet—mmm, mmm— feels so deliciously right.
With those around her inflaming her doubts, though, Ruth remains trapped in a do-I-don’t-I mindset. But she rallies! She kind of breaks up with her carping mother, and succumbs to Mr Hotlips’ charms.
This Romeo ’n’ Juliet-esque couple engages in epic battles with the knockers, and triumphantly rattles their cages (from where, it appears, they’ve all escaped).
Still, Ruth’s man can’t vanquish the conflicts in her mind. Or the ones in his own. And when an earth-shattering revelation causes him to give her grief, the question on her hot lips is no longer ‘Can our love survive?’ It’s … ‘Do I want it to?’
Sequel to Amazon #1 Bestseller, Odyssey in a Teacup
‘Paula Houseman is at it again—wielding her razor-sharp wit in this romantic comedy with twists and turns! Unputdownable.’
—Gabriella Kovac, Bestselling author.

Paula Houseman thought her life was, well … meh. Until she started fiction writing. Memories flooded back and she realised her existence had not been mundane at all; it had been bloody ridiculous!
And little wonder. Her muse is the potty-mouthed goddess of obscenity. Paula rediscovered this butt-ugly immortal while she was researching for her university Honours thesis—fossicking around in ancient mythology, home to the archetypes of modern-day reality.
She, who embodies a holy kind of dirty, showed Paula the absurdity of the human condition, and reminded her about the healing value of laughter. This irrepressible force that has the whip hand in Paula’s psyche is responsible for the bawdiness in her book, Odyssey in a Teacup.

Lizette was born in Bronx, New York, and moved to California with her family when she was eight.
Lizette grew up as an overweight child and underwent years of bullying and considered suicide. As an escape, she found her love for reading and enjoyed entering magical worlds that allowed her to leave behind her uncomfortable environment.
As a teenager, a wise woman from her church took her under her wing and taught her one phrase to live by, “You can learn something from anyone – even if it’s how not to be,” and Lizette’s mindset changed. Every person benefited her life, and everyone has a story to tell.
During that time, she read her Bible and became a Christian. A fondness for theology inspired her to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Ministries from The Master’s College.
She spent several years taking courses in Journalism and tried to publish fiction stories and non-fiction; however, publishing rejection led her to leave her love of writing and continue to earn a living investigating mortgage fraud and underwriting residential loans.
Even so, the bug for writing continued to burrow a hole in her heart. After decades in the mortgage business, she received a layoff notice and made the final decision to pursue her love for storytelling and non-fiction writing with a purpose.

Mary Campisi writes emotion-packed books about second chances. Whether contemporary romances, women’s fiction, or Regency historicals, her books all center on belief in the beauty of that second chance. Her small town romances center around family life, friendship, and forgiveness as they explore the issues of today’s contemporary women.
Mary should have known she’d become a writer when at age thirteen she began changing the ending to all the books she read. It took several years and a number of jobs, including registered nurse, receptionist in a swanky hair salon, accounts payable clerk, and practice manager in an OB/GYN office, for her to rediscover writing. Enter a mouse-less computer, a floppy disk, and a dream large enough to fill a zip drive. The rest of the story lives on in every book she writes.
When she’s not working on her craft or following the lives of five young adult children, Mary’s digging in the dirt with her flowers and herbs, cooking, reading, walking her rescue lab mix, Cooper, or, on the perfect day, riding off into the sunset with her very own hero/husband on his Harley Ultra Limited.
Mary has published with Kensington, Carina Press, and The Wild Rose Press and she is currently working on the next book in her very popular Truth in Lies series, the A Family Affair books. This family saga is filled with heartache, betrayal, forgiveness, and redemption in a small town setting.

The Recitation: The Last Testament to the Verity of the Apocalypse
About The Recitation: The Last Testament to the Verity of the Apocalypse
The reasoning that many people give for rejecting established religions is that they find them either bigoted or irrational, but what they are rejecting is a degenerate interpretation of the original Word. The true Word is perfectly rational.
047.018 Await they aught but the hour that it should come upon them unawares and the portents thereof have already come? But how, when it be upon them, can they benefit from their admonition?
And many today would argue that the portents have already come. In the Qur’an, the resurrection of the dead and the day of judgement are themes reiterated repeatedly as a matter of urgency to warn and inculcate the reader. The day of judgement is referred to by various means over 150 times. The Qur’an is by far the most apocalyptic of the Abrahamic books and the final testament to the verity of the apocalypse.

In Thuis, no one is above the rules.
Officially, Thuis is ruled by the panel, but the true power is held by the committee. They control from a sedentary position, monitoring everything.
As the keeper, it’s Patriz’s responsibility to ensure that the rules are being kept. Sanctions are applied for any breaches – no excuses, no exceptions.
Not even when his own family are breaking the rules.
Completely surrounded by mountains, Thuis is isolated, but it doesn’t really matter to the citizens. The majority of them believe that they are all alone. Only a few of the younger members of the community dare to hope that there is something else out there.
It isn’t only the landscape that traps the people of Thuis. The rules of Kirk Heuvel dictate every aspect of their lives – where they work, how they live, and what they do. In such a controlled society, it’s hard for anyone to have any optimism for the future.
Eleven-year-old Ainsley is one of the lower designations, and so his options are very limited. Being selected by the keeper gives him the chance to escape from his dysfunctional household. But the opportunity has a major drawback. It means he has to leave his sister in the clutches of his abusive father.
Patriz has more to think about than his new apprentice. Tension is rising in Thuis. The panel has been receiving anonymous threats, which is making the leader, Mal, more paranoid than usual. His accusations are relentless, and most of them are directed at Patriz’s sister, Olla. It’s Olla’s son, Connor, who Mal really resents, though. Connor will be his successor, and Mal is determined to prove that he’s unworthy.
Knowing that Mal is trying to gather evidence of Connor flouting the rules, Patriz is keeping a very close eye on his nephew. But he’s so busy watching Connor that he misses something crucial.
He fails to notice that Olla’s in over her head.

Cassiea by Megan Lane
Cassiea never thought returning a necklace would get so complicated. Because of that one decision, she was transported to a world, hidden from Earth by the Elvains. They were magical beings who, for centuries, had been waiting for her to appear. They told her that she was the reincarnation of an evil witch name Keya. And the necklace, she thought she had found by chance, held the witch’s magic. A magic that was the source of Keya’s powers and what had turned her evil and ultimately her death.
Cassiea was not thrilled to learn that she had inherited the evil witch’s magic and that other magical beings would stop at nothing to get a hold of it. One, in particular, was Keya’s sister, Nara, whom wanted the powers for herself and to avenge Keya’s death. Now Cassiea’s ordinary life became extraordinary. And all she wanted to do was to go home to her quiet, comfortable and normal life. But the Elvains insisted that her destiny laid with them.
Destiny. A word that Cassiea never gave much thought to. A word that never held any meaning to her became the bane of her existence. As she struggled through the acceptance as the keeper of this magic, she had to fight her way out of Nara’s grasp while keeping everyone she loves safe and to prevent herself from becoming evil like Keya.

Little Wings: The Outbounders of Segais – Book One of Two
About Little Wings: The Outbounders of Segais – Book One of Two
Little Wings is a portrayal of Madar Guirmean, an Arum Faerie from Segais, who after much training becomes an Outbounder and is assigned a human client and enters the human world for the first time. In her first few days in the human world she discovers she has the gift of seeing the Lost Ones – vile creatures that whisper words of hate and fear into the ears of humans.
Outbounding –
To be an Outbounder one must go through rigorous training at the Agaric, underground tunnels in Segais. If you are a successful applicant, you can either become a Windtalker or a Tree Dweller in the human world. Windtalkers sit on the shoulder of their selected human client and whisper words of greatness and enlightenment. Mostly faeries and elves train up to do this as they tend to be more patient and are smaller in size. Gnomes on the other hand prefer to work with trees and animals and are more likely to become Tree Dwellers.
You humans cannot see these folk from Segais at work trying to make the world a better place, but you can certainly feel them, and on odd occasions have dreams about them. So the next time you suddenly come upon a great idea or solution to a problem, it may not be your own mind at work here, but simply the words of an Arum faerie or Ulmarian Elf from Segais sending you into the right direction.
