THE DECEIVED by Linda Style

About THE DECEIVED by Linda Style

He’s desperate to find a killer…
When L.A.P.D. Detective Adam Ramsey receives a new lead he’s even more certain the man behind his partner’s murder is widow Jillian Sullivan’s maybe-not-so-dead husband. Vowing to bring the man to justice, he calls on the attractive widow and shows her a recent photograph of a man who looks exactly like her late husband.

She’s desperate to prove him wrong…
Jillian refuses to believe the only man who ever earned her trust could have deceived her and their daughter so thoroughly. She wants answers…even if she has to track down the imposter to get them.

When Adam meets Jillian on a plane bound for Mirador, a tiny village in the Costa Rican outback, he must keep her from tipping off his target. They form an uneasy alliance to find the truth, but when passion ignites in the steamy jungle, facing down wild animals, kidnappers, and drug lords becomes even more dangerous.

Author Bio:
I grew up in Minnesota where I spent many long, cold winters making up stories, and dreaming about traveling the world. But saner people urged me to attend the University of Minnesota where I studied behavioral science. But my dream of writing persisted, and after a move to Arizona, I earned a degree in journalism from Arizona State University. Since then, I’ve worked in a plethora of jobs from social services to magazine editor, and teaching novel writing at Bootcamp for Novelists. I also wrote lots of books…nineteen novels, with over a million sold worldwide in over a dozen different languages, and two non-fiction books on how to write a novel.

Since my first sale my books have won several awards, including the Daphne du Maurier Award, and most recently, the Holt Medallion Award of Merit. I love to read thrillers, suspense, mystery and romance, and I try to write the types of books I like to read, complex stories with deep characterization…the kind you think about long after turning the last page. I write to entertain, but if I can enrich a few lives along the way, all the better.

When not writing or spending time with my family, I love to travel, take photographs, play tennis, and spend a bunch of time researching my books. Or I’ll grab my camera and head for a hike in the Arizona mountains, the best place on the planet to dream up new stories…and marvel that someone actually pays me to have so much fun. I love to hear from readers and invite you to join me on Facebook and Twitter and visit my website at www.LindaStyle.com.

Author Bio:
Cynthia Hamilton has recently embarked on a mystery series and has become hooked on the genre. The author does extensive research for all her books and her latest are no exception. To gear up for “Spouse Trap”, the first book in the series, she took a detective course and spent countless hours investigating Guam, “virtually” living there so she could navigate her protagonist through a quickie divorce, with a little mayhem on the side.

“Spouse Trap,” set in her hometown of Santa Barbara, CA, is the prequel to the series. It tells the story of how Madeline Ridley reverts back to Madeline Dawkins, and the dual careers she forges after going to hell and back.

Because of what she put her heroine through in the first installment, the author realized Madeline needed to have martial arts training in the subsequent books. To that end, she has taken up karate, a discipline she has fallen in love with – so much so, she incorporated her instructor into her latest book.

In her first memoir, “Once Upon a Lyme…” she chronicles the onset of a mysterious illness and the unexpected dividend of becoming a writer. Her latest—”Finding Ruth”—was inspired by a photo found among her mother’s possessions during her move into a nursing home, and is a combination of memoir, detective work and imagination.

Paintbrush

About Paintbrush:

Mitchell Morrison and Josie Sedgwick have spent their whole lives at the Indian Paintbrush Community Village, a commune full of colorful characters tucked in the mountains of North Carolina, and they aren’t particularly close–at least, not anymore. Josie wishes she could spend all of her time at Paintbrush planting tomatoes, hiking the trails, or throwing giant communal birthday parties, while Mitchell can’t wait to escape the bizarre spiritual sharing and noisy community dinners. Luckily for both of them, high school graduation is just around the corner.

But when Mitchell’s mother makes a scandalous announcement that rocks the close-knit Paintbrush community, and Josie’s younger sister starts to make some dangerously bad decisions, the two find themselves leaning on each other for support – and looking at each other in a whole new light. Their childhood friendship blossoms in to something more as they deal with their insane families, but as graduation approaches, so does life in the real world, forcing Josie and Mitchell to figure out what, exactly, their relationship is – and if it can survive their very different plans for the future.

The Rabbi’s Gift by Chuck Gould

About The Rabbi’s Gift by Chuck Gould

The re-telling of an ancient tale.

Rebellious and spiritually precocious Miriam is the daughter of the richest man in Palestine. She is of age to marry, but resists “suitable” candidates proposed by her father. Miriam loses her heart to Yusuf, a humble craftsman laboring on her father’s estate.

Social obstacles appear insurmountable. Prophecies of Isaiah, rare astrological phenomena, political turmoil, conflicting cosmologies, and the cures of Jeconiah compound the young lovers’ predicament.

“The Rabbi’s Gift” gathers shards of Roman history, Jewish mysticism, and Babylonian astrology to craft a speculative backstory for two of the most recognized figures in western literature.

Excerpt from Chanticleer’s 5-star editorial review: “Gould’s handling of this grand drama shows a true grasp of the writer’s craft. He deftly combines various elements from lore throuthout his storytelling, making ‘The Rabbi’s Gift’ a powerfully rich tale. Using older spellings and secular text, along with Gould’s strategic planting of clues along the way, fortifies the story and draws the reader in.”
