Author Bio:
I have always been accused of having an overactive imagination. My brain is always painting pictures and telling stories. For a while, my creative outlet for that was photography. It served me well, and put food on the table for my family.

I was told a few times over the years that I should try writing. That I have a knack for it. I largely ignored them. But one day, after coming through a particularly painful time in my life, a small still voice in the back of my head told me I should try writing a book.

So I did.

Turns out that photography is not the only creative thing that I can do. My first book containing just over 114,000 words was written in just under 7 weeks. It just poured out of me. That writing gave me a new purpose in life. And it could not have come at a better time.

I lean heavily to the action/thriller side of fiction, because that is what I like to read. If you like those style of books, I humbly ask you to give me a try. I promise that I won’t let you down.

The ’69 by Joseph McCloskey

About The ’69 by Joseph McCloskey

A synopsis of The ‘69

This is a story about fathers and sons, and second chances. First person pov.
I waited until my son was old enough to return to the work of restoring the ‘69 Jaguar. My father and I began when I was a boy, but he passed away shortly after.
We work in the garage of the old estate, the last Landlords son returned from the Somme a broken man, but with a new-found passion for cars. He turned the coach house into this garage.
My son, Michael, and I bond during this time. My wife, Mary, is worried I will overdo it, I ignore her, but she is proved right. I suffer a heart attack in the garage, but glimpse my father as a ghost as I die.
Michael has to go abroad to work, Mary is left alone in the great house.
She pines for me, and goes to the garage, my haven, convinced some part of me still lingers there. She calls me, demands I keep my promise never to leave her. On her way back to the house she collapses, grief-stricken she gives in to death.

Part 2

I return to the garage as a ghost to see Mary fall and pass away. I hoped she would join me here in the next world, but that does not happen.
Years pass, Michael returns with a partner, Savita. He comes to look at the 69. Savita warns him to be careful, he is ill, something serious.
Michael begins where we left off. Proudly, I walk through the garage at his side, an invisible ghost.
There is something else, an unnaturalness in the shadows, someone else lingers there. They too are watching and waiting for the 69 to be done. I believe this is what binds me to the earth. A father and son began the work and a father and son will be there when it’s finished.
Savita breaks the news, Michael is to be a father. I am overjoyed for them, and wish Mary were here to see this. Fortunately the car is almost done, the proceeds of the sale will help Michael junior into the world.
Years pass again before I return. I am confused, the car is still here? Michael held onto it until his own son was old enough to see and remember the car and now offers it for sale.
Prospective buyers come and go. Michael insists she will only be sold to the right home. He vets them like suitors for the ‘69’s hand.
I first see him in the mists by the riverbank, an old man in a tweed suit, and then again later as a buyer. He is a curious fellow, Michael wants to know more before he will agree a deal. The old gentleman confesses he is the son of William, the last landlord on the estate and the car enthusiast that transformed the coach house into the garage.
Michael and Savita are happy to sell him the car, I watch him leave, he waves to the garage as he goes and to me and the two men who step from the shadows to join me, my father and William.

Author Bio:
I have lived all my life in Donegal, on the rugged northwest coast of Ireland. Recently heralded as one of the most interesting places in the world to visit. The landscape is indeed breathtaking and it would be easy to say that the wildness and ruggedness of this last frontier of Europe was my inspiration to write, but that’s not entirely true. Donegal’s greatest asset are its people, ever eager to engage in clever and witty banter. Our use of language, the hilarious colloquialisms always leaves me wishing I had a pen to take notes. We have a unique way of looking at the rest of the world and indeed ourselves.
My books are fictional stories based around places I’ve been and people I’ve met. They all have a strong historical background because I love history, and they all have strong links to Ireland in one way or another.

Author Bio:
James Alva never thought he would be an author.
Sketching and painting from an early age, James always envisaged a life ruled by pigment: portraits, commissions, advertising and the like.
Writing was only a hobby. Writing was fun. From a four hundred page novel about alien civilizations at the age of fourteen, to twenty five more years of writing without having a single piece or composition published, James almost gave up a thousand times.
During this period, he studied Art, earning a Fine Art Degree; at the same time he struggled through a succession of jobs in a bid to earn enough to live: a cleaner, a bartender at a golf course, a laster in a shoe factory, a warehouse assistant, a sales technician, a planning engineer.
James Alva is the author of Paine, The Duplicant, The Indigo Trials Trilogy and The First People, and lives in Bristol.

THE UNNAMED RUNE

About THE UNNAMED RUNE

Fate stained him with the mark of doom…
Destiny endowed him with the power to prevail.

Rucker is innocent but condemned to die, simply because he was born with the cursed “Stain of Death”.
Although he bears a dreaded birthmark, he is one of the lucky ones; one of the few not immediately slain at birth as the law decrees. And now, at seventeen, his sudden ability to draw upon cataclysmic elemental magic will change the world forever.
He is brave, honorable, and determined to become a great swordmaster. But he is also twice cursed. The first is his fault — a personal flaw caused by an inability to harness his rage. The second is beyond his control — a gift of the gods, thrust upon him because of who he is.
An eons-old prognostication from a gifted seer proclaimed the coming of a Child of Stain: a Human born with a mark called a Blood-Rune. The augury revealed that Fate and Destiny would ally to produce a champion who would be the paradoxical bane of an immortal, albeit insane, sorcerer called The Mad Mage; the most powerful magic-user ever. Because of his fear of the prophecy, The Mage used the vilest constructs of black-magic to impose the death-edict, which forced the murder of millions of birthmarked babies over the past four millennia.
No one knows when the long-awaited champion will arrive or who it might be. No name was given.
Over the ages, this promised hero has been referred to simply as…
…THE UNNAMED RUNE.

Author Bio:
Ron Smith was born in Selma, Alabama, although he spent most of his younger life in Oregon, near Salem. In his late teens, he lived in the suburbs northeast of Sacramento, California. After he married his beloved wife, Jane, they lived in the Sierra foothills and built custom homes on country properties between Loomis and Grass Valley.
He also spent many years as a graphic and sculptural artist, working in oils and water colors, as well as stone and wood sculpture.
For thirty years he had a dream: he wanted to write an epic-fantasy series. And that meant he had a ton of work and learning to do. This included being a long-time subscriber to two magazines: WRITER’S DIGEST, and THE WRITER. During that period, he accumulated and studied nearly a hundred books designed to aid those wishing to become proficient writers. For many years now, most of the evening hours he spends in front of a TV screen have been with a “self-help for writers” resource in his lap.
Shortly after he got married, he became a devout reader of epic fantasy and science fiction (with his readerly wife’s encouragement). But during the last eleven years, (along with reading other authors, as always) his focus has been on actively writing during the day, even as his study of writing continues in the evenings.
Finally, the hard work has paid off and he is able to share his story with the world. He writes from the heart, filling the pages with deep passion and heroic adventure.
Now that his dream is realized, his hope is that readers like you will find his story enjoyable enough to list among your favorites.
He stands solidly behind the old saying ― “Follow your Dreams!”
And in his own words…”Who knows what might come of it?”

Luther Cross here. Dangerously handsome, effortlessly stylish half-demon, at your service. As I have inherited certain…abilities with my odd genetics, I’ve put them to use as Chicago’s foremost paranormal investigator.

Turns out, someone is trying to create an army of half-demons. While it might be a pleasant change to hang out with my own kind, I know most half-demons don’t have my sense of morality.
