About The Girl at the End of the World by Richard Levesque
Her fight begins the day the world ends.
Scarlett Fisher is an average California teenager. She likes hanging out with her friends and talking on the phone. She does all right at school, and she’s made the best of her parents’ divorce. But in one way, she’s special: on her fifteenth birthday, a fast-moving plague wipes out everyone she’s ever known, yet somehow it passes her by.
Her family dead, alone in a corpse-strewn metropolis, she has no choice but to survive. She needs food, shelter, a safe place to sleep. She discovers that an ordinary girl is capable of extraordinary things, and that she’s more resilient than she imagined. Even so, she wishes more than anything that she could just find another survivor.
Unfortunately for Scarlett, not everyone who survived the plague is looking for companionship. And she’s about to find out just how difficult survival really is.

Brazil by Errol Lincoln Uys
About Brazil by Errol Lincoln Uys:
“A masterpiece! Brazil has the feel of an enchanted virgin forest, a totally new and original world for the reader-explorer to discover.” – L’Express, Paris
Through the lives of two powerful families, Brazil depicts five turbulent centuries in the history of a remarkable land. From colony to kingdom, from empire to nation, Brazil is filled with memorable people living through one of the great adventures in human history.
The Cavalcantis are among the original settlers and establish the classic Brazilian plantation — vast, powerful, and built with slave labor. The da Silvas represent the second element in both contemporary and historical Brazil: pathfinders and prospectors. For generations, these adventurers have set their eyes on El Dorado, which they ultimately find in a coffee fortune at Sao Paulo.
Brazil is an intensely human story, brutal and violent, tender and passionate. Perilous explorations through the Brazilian wilderness . . . the perpetual clash of pioneer and native, visionary and fortune hunter, master and slave, zealot and exploiter . . . the thunder of war on land and sea as European powers and South American nations pursue their territorial conquests… the triumphs and tragedies of a people who built a nation covering half the South American continent, all are here in one spell-binding saga.
A spellbinding saga on a truly epic scale with a stunning cast of real and fictional characters, Brazil unfolds “at ground level” in South America, Africa and Europe.
“A massive, richly detailed work, Uys has a sense of pace and eye for detail that rarely fail him.” – Washington Post.
“Uys is the first outsider with the total honesty and sympathy to write our national epic in all its decisive episodes. Descriptions like those of the war with Paraguay are unsurpassed in our literature and evoke the great passages of ‘War and Peace.’” — Wilson Martins, Jornal do Brasil
“Pulsing with vigor… Uys recreates history almost entirely at ‘ground level,’ through the eyes and actions of an awesome cast of characters.” – Publishers Weekly

Riding the Rails: Teenagers on the Move During the Great Depression by Errol Lincoln Uys
About Riding the Rails: Teenagers on the Move During the Great Depression by Errol Lincoln Uys:
“A remarkable story! A riveting book of hope and hardship during one of America’s bleakest eras. The reader can all but hear the lonesome wail at every whistle-stop.” – Boston Globe
At the height of the Great Depression, a quarter of a million teenagers left their homes and hopped freight trains crisscrossing the country. They were looking for work and adventure; some wanted to leave their homes, and some had to. They grew up fast in speeding boxcars, living in hobo jungles, begging on the streets and running from the police and club-wielding railroad guards.
By summer 1932, the “roving boy” had become a fixture on the American landscape. The occasional girl was sighted, too, most passing unrecognized in male garb. Girls especially did not make the decision to hit the road lightly, for they were stepping into a world filled with danger. It was the same for young African-Americans, for whom the beckoning rails could be doubly perilous.
The restless youth of the boxcar boys and girls, many who went from “middle-class gentility to dirt poor” overnight, is recaptured in the new edition of Riding the Rails: Teenagers on the Move During the Great Depression by Errol Lincoln Uys.
One of the vital, neglected sagas of America in the 1930s, the story of the boxcar boys and girls has seldom been told. First-hand accounts of individuals who endured those trying times are even scarcer. Riding the Rails draws primarily on oral histories of three thousand men and women who hopped freight trains, their incredible journeys illustrated with rare archival photos.
Self-reliance, compassion, frugality, and a love of freedom and country are at the heart of the lessons these teens learned. Their memories are a mixture of nostalgia and pain; their later musings still tinged with the fear of going broke again. At journey’s end, the resiliency of these survivors is a testament to the indomitable strength of the human spirit.
It is also an inspiration to all of us who share a nostalgia for the road and the freedoms sought there.
“Uys paints a brisk, colorful, fast-paced portrait of lean times and high hopes.” — Tulsa World
“With more than 500 interviews and stunning archival photographs, Uys thoroughly recreates the wretched conditions the boxcar boys and girls endured.” — Chicago Tribune
“One of the most poignant memories of the wandering youth of the Great Depression.” — Sacramento Bee
“As gripping as it is well-researched.” — Denver Post
“Riding the Rails is entertaining and inspiring, recapturing a time when the country was “dying by inches.” – Amazon History Editor

Elf’s Bane
The third and book of the Elvenshore series. The Elves that live on the Far Shore settled on the side of a mystical mountain and awakened an ancient evil. Now the Elves are under attack and are fighting for their very survival against a powerful enemy.
With their whole world falling apart, where will the Elves turn for help?
What a fun world to fall into!
ByScott A. Martinon July 2, 2013
The author gives us a fun world full of elves, dwarves, valkyrie, trolls and humans. I like what he does with the various races to give them personality and differences, yet tries to stick to what most people think they might be like.
I enjoyed the various characters created and their interactions. The author created scenes and imagery that kept me reading.

I started writing at a very young age, and was greatly encouraged by my teachers at school. One of my English teachers used to wade through the stack of papers that students would submit for writing assignments. She would find mine, and always read it first. That had a huge effect on me.
Now I am supported by family and friends who read my writings and leave me feedback.
I don’t seem to stick to a particular genre, but write the stories that I would want to read.
I hope you enjoy my efforts.

Author Bio:
USA Today bestselling, Amazon All-Star author Barbara Devlin was born a storyteller, but it was a weeklong vacation to Bethany Beach, DE that forever changed her life. The little house her parents rented had a collection of books by Kathleen Woodiwiss, which exposed Barbara to the world of romance, and Shanna remains a personal favorite. Barbara writes heartfelt historical romances that feature flawed heroes who may know how to seduce a woman but know nothing of marriage. And she prefers feisty but smart heroines who sometimes save the hero, before they find their happily ever after. Barbara earned an MA in English and continued a course of study for a Doctorate in Literature and Rhetoric. She happily considered herself an exceedingly eccentric English professor, until success in Indie publishing lured her into writing, full-time, featuring her fictional knighthood, the Brethren of the Coast.

After what happened that night – I can’t stop replaying every damn minute in my mind.
I vowed to leave the hell hole I built for myself and never turn back.

Saint: A Dark Mafia Romance
About Saint: A Dark Mafia Romance:
I’m supposed to take her life. I’m going to take her body instead.
They call me a Saint, but I’m a f**king sinner.
Ruthless. Coldhearted. Killer. I was young when my parents took off and left me alone to fend for my two younger brothers. I learned to survive. I learned to fix problems, by any means necessary.
Which is exactly what I do for the Dark Saints – the Irish crime family that raised me as their own. I make the secrets stay in the shadows. I make the bodies disappear. I make the problems go away. I owe them that much.
That is, until she walks in and sees me with a smoking gun in my fist and blood on my hands.
Sierra Hammond – the kind of good girl who wants to pretend she’s bad by hanging out in the rough parts of town. But this time, she stepped into the wrong bar and ran into the wrong man.
I know the rules, and I know letting her walk out of there alive breaks every single one of them. But one look into those big brown eyes, and one touch of those sweet curves writhing and fighting against me, and I know I’m done.
I’ll start a war.
I’ll break every vow.
I’ll move heaven and hell to make her mine.
F**k the rules, I’m taking her instead.
