Retreat To Me

About Retreat To Me:

A war stole their futures.
Love gave them something to live for.

An unexpected love story for those who have loved and lost, yet were strong enough to love again.

Their lives torn apart by WWII, two strangers find an unexpected second chance at love in this steamy contemporary romance about a budding writer and a struggling musician, proving that sometimes fate steps in to push broken hearts on a collision course and show them how to find what they didn’t know they were looking for.

In the sleepy mountain town of Carter Ridge, fledgling writer, Cassidy Clark, has booked a retreat house to write her first and last manuscript. She’s planning to end her life, but not before she writes the perfect tribute to her fiancé who never returned from WWII.
Cassidy’s reflective retreat is interrupted when handsome musician, Thomas Crain, unknowingly ends up double booking the same retreat house. Sparks fly when Cassidy’s rebellious nature and reckless gin habit threaten to destroy Thomas’s music career. Tempers flare, giving way to unexpected passion and soon they are reconsidering everything they thought they wanted.

Author Bio:
As a former electrical and mechanical engineer, D F Capps has a keen interest in advanced technology and emerging energy sciences. He has six U.S. Patents and won a national design competition in 1985.
In his quest for knowledge on new technology, he developed the control system for an over-unity electrical generator and witnessed first-hand the capabilities of such developing technologies. “The day I made the measurements on a machine that was producing eight times the electrical energy that it was consuming was a life-altering experience. I saw for myself what could actually be done, even though it was against all of my electrical training. Since then I have questioned everything that is considered conventional knowledge and found it terribly lacking. We actually live in a world that functions at a very different level from what we perceive.”

D F Capps is the author of four sci-fi thrillers: Meteor Storm, Tsunami Storm, Solar Weapon and The Zeta Grey War: New Recruits. He uses this new understanding of the greater possibilities for science and technology in his sci-fi thrillers. His goal as a writer is to fashion an entertaining story and then to weave generally unknown facts into that story leaving the reader wondering just what is real and what isn’t. If he can entertain a reader and make that reader question the reality around them, then he considers his efforts a success.

Author Bio:
My greatest writing achievement came out of my deepest sorrow. When I lost my daughters to a religious hijacking (ages 10 and 12), I was driven to write The Protest and its sequel, From Ice and Snow. Writing those stories was therapeutic and I felt my cautionary tale about fanatical Christianity would help others. As a writer, I aim to create a better understanding of the world and our place in it by shedding light on dark places. Some of my works take you to those dark places. They make you think, they shed light, they even entertain, while they offer solace to those who need it.

Reel Time by Sarah Parry

About Reel Time by Sarah Parry:

Becky and Mack have always hated each other, and their animosity isn’t diminished any when they are thrown together on a college newspaper project to interview an elderly film actor. At the height of his fame, Paul Wolfstead was known as The King of Horror famous for starring in bloodthirsty schlock horror movies, until he was sent to prison for killing someone during a party in the nineteen fifties. Descending into a life of poverty, but still living in the decaying splendour of Windchimes where the murder took place, he welcomes the chance to put the record straight, even if it is only for a story in a local college newspaper. But when Becky and Mack go to Windchimes, they find themselves catapulted into an adventure that is straight out of one of Paul Wolfstead’s old movies – travelling back in time to when the murder took place, enabling them to solve the murder mystery – that’s if they can get over their differences with each other first! With quirky movie references and vintage thrills and spills straight out of the golden age of the cinema, REEL TIME is a YA mystery romance that will leave you breathless for more – just like an old Technicolor movie on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
