Glad One: Starting Over is a %$#@&!

glad oneAbout Glad One: Starting Over is a %$#@&!:

“Picture Bridget Jones in a bikini surrounded by rednecks and you’ve got Glad One!”
One crazy old lady. Two gin and tonics. Three derelict beach-bum friends. Will Val’s fourth stab at starting over add up to a big fat zero?
St. Pete Beach attracts weirdos like mosquitoes to a bug zapper. But when thrice-divorced native Val Fremden feels the tug to fly back to her old stomping grounds, she finds everyone and everything she knew squashed under the heels of change. With nothing to go on but her own dry sense of humor and the life coach advice of a beer-guzzling old lady she meets at the beach, can things get any weirder?
If you like wacky, deeply flawed characters and laugh-out-loud situations, you’ll love Glad One! It’s the second book in Margaret Lashley’s irreverent Val & Pals Series.

Author Bio:
Margaret Lashley is the author of Absolute Zero and Glad One, the first books in the hilarious and irreverent Val & Pals series. She also penned How to be Happy When Life Treats You Crappy, a personal workbook based on her world-wide travels in search of inner joy. Margaret is a native Floridian and lives in St. Petersburg, Florida.
From the Author:
Like the characters in my novels, I haven’t lead a life of wealth or luxury. In fact, as it stands now, I’m set to inherit a half-eaten jar of Cheez Whiz…if my siblings don’t beat me to it.
During my illustrious career, I’ve been a roller-skating waitress, an actuarial assistant, an advertising copywriter, a real estate agent, a house flipper, an organic farmer, and a traveling vagabond/truth seeker. But no matter where I’ve gone or what I’ve done, I’ve always felt like a weirdo.
I’ve learned a heck of a lot in my life. But getting to know myself has been my greatest journey. Today, I know I’m smart. I’m direct. I’m jaded. I’m hopeful. I’m funny. I’m fierce. I’m a pushover. And I have a laugh that makes strangers want to join me at restaurants. In other words, I’m a jumble of opposing talents and flaws and emotions. And it’s all good.
In some ways, I’m a lot like Val Fremden. My books featuring Val are not autobiographical, but what comes out of her mouth was first formed in my mind, and sometimes the parallels are undeniable. I drink TNTs. I had a car like Shabby Maggie. And I’ve started my life over four times, driving away with whatever earthly possessions fit in my car. And, perhaps most importantly, I’ve learned that friends come from unexpected places.
So thank you for being a fan, and for helping me prove there’s a place for us weirdos and outsiders. Even ones as off-beat as me! Your support helps keep my attitude one of gratitude. I hope I return the favor – along with a big belly laugh or two!

Forbidden Colours

About Forbidden Colours:

Forbidden Colours was the evolution of a question that had been rattling around in my brain. You know, those annoying questions that wake you at 4 am and won’t let you rest until you’ve written something. Well, that’s how it was for me. I had read a newspaper article about the complexity of the human brain and well, it all started from there. Forbidden Colours is a gripping love story which contains elements of psychological suspense. It contains enough adrenaline fuelled drama to power the national grid! I have a passion for science and being able to incorporate that into a book is very exciting. The story centres around a new drug being brought to market that does not quite do what it is supposed to…. I shall leave it at that. As I said earlier I started Forbidden Colours with a question and everything flowed from there. So, I know you want to know, what was the question?…… What if?
What if your memories were not your memories? What if the drug hailed as a cure became a curse and ultimately your destruction?
Midori Yates works for pharmaceutical giant KLD. The launch of new drug Centoria has revolutionized the treatment of amnesia, with outstanding results. Trials exploring its use in the treatment of Alzheimer’s are on the horizon. But is it really as good as the data suggests?
Neurologist Dr. Nick Campbell has seen amazing results with his patients and is ready to believe in Centoria’s transformational abilities…that is until his patients start displaying strange and worrying symptoms with drastic results. Determined to uncover the truth, Midori and Nick find a conspiracy that is to have devastating consequences for both of them. A dark world threatens to engulf them. Can they survive?

Wild Surrender

About Wild Surrender:

Thomas is new to the rural area. He needed a change from the hectic big city, and the pressures of being on the swat team. A little peace and quiet to reflect on what he wants in life, and maybe find someone to share it with along the way. He never expected to find his perfect match in the form of one sexy little animal lover. From the moment they meet their attraction is hot & out of control!

Excerpt –
Thomas shook his head to try to clear the sexual fog that he’d been in since meeting Julie. He opened the fridge, and reached for a beer. Then pulled the tab and took a long swig. The storm had stopped and he’d taken a quick shower before eating dinner. He’d turn in soon. He went to the window facing Julie’s house and peered out, noticing the lights were on in her bedroom. And the window was open.

He started to turn away, until she came into full view of the window. What was she doing? Thomas got his answer when she began to shimmy out of her shorts. He sucked in his breath when he caught a glimpse of her lacy G-string. Jesus! His body was encased with instant heat. When her hands went to the hem of her T-shirt he all but held his breath. In slow motion, Julie lifted her shirt, exposing inch by inch of satiny skin until her breasts were bare. Thomas almost swallowed his tongue at the sight of those perfect, mouth-watering globes.

Dropping her shirt to the floor, she then ran her hands up her ribcage in a smooth caress, closing her eyes when she cupped her breasts before massaging them. His heart stopped. He glanced up to find she was looking in his direction. F**k. Me. With a half-smile on her pretty face. She knew he was watching. He smiled back before reaching to turn off the lamp.

Two can play at this game, honey.

Only when he played he planned on having her at his mercy.

Sweet Melissa: Ignorance Is Not Bliss Book One by Susan Segovia-Munoz

About Sweet Melissa: Ignorance Is Not Bliss Book One by Susan Segovia-Munoz:

HEROIN ADDICTION, THE LIFESTYLE, THE RECOVERY

The author was a very stubborn, naïve, and gullible young woman with a very bad case of low self-esteem. At 18 year’s old, and from an upper middle class suburban family she was always known as the fat sister. She was the black sheep of the family, and the trouble maker.

Believing herself to be stupid, fat, ugly, and incapable of being loved the author leaves the safety, security, and love of her family. She goes out on a journey of her own to try and find love, and acceptance elsewhere.

Her deepest desire is to fit in somewhere. Anywhere.

The author encounters a variety of potential suitors that she cannot resist. She finds that once their true intentions are exposed, that these exquisitely wrapped packages reveal the contents of deceitful, controlling, and abusive men.

The author gets lost in a vicious cycle of addiction, and abuse.

Is it too late?

She has already opened, and walked through the door of her self-produced nightmare.

Her senses are dulled, and she is emotionless.

Has she lost her soul, or did she sell it?

Her stubbornness is holding her hostage to the fact that she will always learn things the hard way. There are times when death seems like the only answer.

After decades of losing time and time again, the author finally submits to the fact that she is out of control, and that her life is unmanageable.

That is her reality.

Is there any hope for change after almost thirty years of addiction, and crime?

What could possibly happen to the author that would make her change her life in every single way?

What is it that turned the author into the woman she was always meant to be?

This is MY story.

I broke out into a cold sweat, and tried to cry. The tears would not fall, because I knew in my heart, that I had no one to blame for my situation but myself. I came from a good, loving family. I was never beaten or abused. We went on family vacations every summer. My childhood years could not have been more perfect. What was wrong with me?

I looked closely into the mirror, and saw the dark circles beneath my eyes. I was underweight, and my long blonde hair was thinning. I looked away from the mirror quickly, and sat on the cold, tile floor of this cheap motel bathroom.

My hand shook a bit as I held the spoon full of heroin. I cooked it up with a blue lighter. I dropped in a small piece of cotton, and drew up the liquid with a syringe. I injected the heroin, and fell slowly back against the wall. The tile was no longer cold, and life did not seem so hopeless anymore.

Sweet Melissa is a six book memoir series. It is the author’s story about her life-long struggle with addiction to drugs, her downward spiral towards self destruction, and finally her recovery. Follow the author down the dark path of substance abuse and the lifestyle that goes with it.

In Book One, the author gets involved with prostitution and drugs. She encounters a variety of people, and finds herself addicted to heroin. With that addiction she falls deeper and deeper into a hole of which she believes will never end. Her self-esteem diminishes, and her life seems worthless.

This is a life-long struggle with substance abuse. Heroin and substance abuse cloud the mind from thinking properly. It deadens the senses, and strips the soul. It puts you in places you could never imagine in your wildest dreams.

This is a memoir straight from the heart of the finally recovered.

Author Bio:
Susan Segovia-Munoz was born and raised in Los Angeles California, and resides there to this day. The Sweet Melissa Memoir Series is her first project. The author loves spending her free time with her adorable dog Abby, a 7 pound Yoranian, a Yorkie-Pomeranian Hybrid. She loves photography, the arts in general, and going to estate sales. She runs her own store on eBay, susieeisus, and does whatever she can (legally) to make ends meet. She also spends her time helping others overcome their problems with addiction. The author is a recovered addict, and her main goal is to inspire others with her memoir series. She explains it in a “What not to do” style, and she leaves nothing out. Her most humiliating experiences are exposed to show the consequences of addiction, the lifestyle needed in order to support such a habit, and the loss of self-control. Susan Segovia-Munoz is drug-free, and enjoying the things she used to avoid in order to hide her addiction. Her family is her main support system, and her reason for choosing life over heroin and drugs. Her story is genuine, and it proves that anything is possible if you believe it is.

After discovering a projectively geometrical key to field unification in 1995, I discovered a mathematical conversion from known values to prove it. Around that same time, I reverse engineered the circuit used by Edward Leedskalnin at Coral Castle (Rock Gate Palace) in Homestead Florida. It is undoubtedly a long used device to float megalithic stones across the land. It was most likely used in most or all stone monuments of the great circle, especially Giza, as well as Stonehenge. I’ve also been very interested in u.f.o.s , and made it my mission in life to build one someday, but first I had to figure out how. Zero point energy is the key. I finally decided it was time to share this information with the world.

Author Bio:
Cynthia VanRooy, a three-time finalist for the San Diego Book Awards, a finalist for the Independent eBook Awards for Romance, and a finalist for the PASIC Book of Your Heart Award, came by her love of books early. She grew up the daughter of a career army officer and moved often. By the time she graduated from high school she had attended eleven different schools! It was difficult making new friends every other year or so, and she spent a lot of time happily curled up alone with a book. She would no sooner finally have friends, than it was time to move again. All she needed to relieve the loneliness was a library where she could always find her favorite authors.

She was living in Hawaii when she met her husband, a handsome young naval officer who swept her off her feet in the best romance-novel tradition. In fact, their first date was New Year’s Eve on Waikiki Beach. Life was setting her up to write romance novels, She just didn’t know it yet. And she was still moving every two years. Hawaii, Scotland, and Japan are just a few of the places she has called home.

She loves writing romance. In her books, she likes to explore the difference between what the characters think they want and what they ultimately discover they really want, a personal journey to which most people can relate. She finds the innate optimism and happy endings in the genre uplifting. Cynthia believes there is enough misery and despair in the world without putting it on the page. Romance is her small effort to bring a higher love vibration to the planet. It’s called light reading for a reason!
