The Enchanted Swans by Christy Nicholas

About The Enchanted Swans by Christy Nicholas

In pre-Celtic Ireland, Fionnuala was a fae princess, born to a life of luxury. She knew her duty and loved her family. She missed her mother, who died in childbirth when Fionnuala was but ten years old. Still, she had hopes and dreams of love and a full life.

All her dreams were stolen from her, ripped away in a torrent of envy and magic.

Now she must care for her three brothers while learning to live under an evil curse. Will she find a way to break the spell, or would they remain swans, tethered to three places for nine hundred years?

Author Bio:
Christy Nicholas, also known as Green Dragon, has her hands in many crafts, including digital art, beaded jewelry, writing, and photography. In real life, she’s a CPA, but having grown up with art all around her (her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother are/were all artists), it sort of infected her, as it were. She loves to draw and to create things. She says it’s more of an obsession than a hobby. She likes looking up into the sky and seeing a beautiful sunset, or seeing a fragrant blossom or a dramatic seaside. She takes a picture or creates a piece of jewelry as her way of sharing this serenity, this joy, this beauty with others. Sometimes this sharing requires explanation – and thus she writes. Combine this love of beauty with a bit of financial sense and you get an art business. She does local art and craft shows, as well as sending her art to various science fiction conventions throughout the country and abroad.

CRAVE ME

About CRAVE ME:

RT Book Reviews proclaims that the O’Brien Family series from award-winning author Cecy Robson “has the hottest brothers ever!” And in Crave Me, it’s time for the sole sister in the family to discover love.

Wren O’Brien isn’t your typical female. As the only girl from a loud Irish family with seven siblings, she prefers fast cars to lip gloss and bad boys to good men. It’s the reason she’s nursing a wounded soul and keeping her distance from a dangerous ex.

Evan Jonah is running an empire and just moved from the lavish thoroughfares of London to the gritty streets of Philadelphia. When he walks into the nearest dealership, he’s expecting to find a reliable vehicle to handle the brutal winters, not a sexy female car rep with killer legs.

Wren doesn’t know why “Hotness in a Suit” asked her out. She doesn’t expect a great time or a night of passion that knocks her on her ass. But that’s exactly what Evan shows her.

She also never counted on how hard and fast she’d fall. But men like Evan—good men with even better hearts—don’t desire tough-talking Philly girls for long.

Evan has never met a woman like Wren. But he’s up for the challenge and ready to prove her wrong.

Author Bio:
An avid reader all her life, only recently has Petra allowed her own imagination to run riot. She loves to travel, loves the outdoors and reads everything she can get her hands on, time permitting. She also loves listening to music from around the world. Her taste in books, like her taste in music, is very eclectic. She tends to like stories with vivid and quirky characters that have elements of fantasy, adventure, romance and mystery interspersed together. A good book for her is one that makes the reader think long after it has been finished and set aside. And one that draws the reader back to it, again and again.
Stories have swirled in her head for years. Sometimes, when the ending of a promising book disappoints her, she imagines a different and more satisfying outcome for herself. To share the characters and tales that have lived in her imagination for so long is a labor of love and a lifelong dream come true for her.

Rolling Thunder: An Historical Novel Of War And Politics by Mark Berent

About Rolling Thunder: An Historical Novel Of War And Politics by Mark Berent

Rolling Thunder is an historical novel about the decisive role politics played during the Vietnam War. Its characters range from men in the field to the Pentagon and the White House. Fighter pilots and Special Forces warriors try to do their best but are hampered by President Johnson, Secretary of Defense McNamara, and their staff members who despise the military. Only one aging USAF general, who fought in WWII and Korea, is on their side. His clashes with his Commander in Chief, Lyndon Johnson, are epic in proportion and startling in content.

In Rolling Thunder, the time is late 1965 and 1966 in war zone places such as Saigon, Hanoi, Bien Hoa, Da Nang, and Tahkli. While back in Washington, LBJ sits over lunch and personally picks bombing targets in an attempt to fight a limited war. In Vietnam the war knows no limits.

There, as the hostilities escalate, the fates of three men intertwine: USAF Captain Court Bannister, overshadowed by a famous movie star father who fought in WWII as a B-17 gunner, driven to confront missiles, MiGs, and nerve-grinding bombing raids in order to prove his worth to his comrades — and to himself…Air Force First Lieutenant Toby Parker, fresh from the States, who hooks up with an intelligence unit for a lark, and quickly finds his innocence buried away by the lessons of war…and Special Forces Major Wolf Lochert, who ventures deep into the jungle to rescue a downed pilot — only to discover a face of the enemy for which he is unprepared.

Four airline stewardesses, who fly the civilian MAC contract flights that bring American soldiers to and from the war zone in Vietnam, have difficult love affairs with G.I.s and fighter pilots. After one flight they come under attack while on an airbase in Vietnam.

Young American G.I.s are cursed and taunted as they return to the United States.

Through their eyes, and those of many others — pilots, soldiers, lovers, enemy agents, commanders, politicians, profiteers — Rolling Thunder shows us Vietnam as few other books have, or can. Berent captures all the intensity and drama of that searing war, and more, penetrates to the heart and soul of those who fought it. Rolling Thunder rings with authenticity.
“A taut, exciting tale of good men in a bad war. Berent is the real thing.” — Tom Clancy
“Rolling Thunder is terrific – a novel of exceptional authenticity that hits like a thunderclap. A decorated Vietnam pilot, Mark Berent knows planes and men and battle, and he whirls them around in a story of uncommon strength. I can’t wait for his next book.” — W.E.B. Griffin, best-selling author of Brotherhood of War and The Corps
“Mark Berent writes with great authority and utter realism, immersing the reader in his characters’ every sensation and emotion.” — Dale Brown, best-selling author of Flight of the Old Dog and Silver Tower
“The fighter pilot’s war – you love it and hate it at the same time, and Mark Berent writes it that way.” — Stephen Coonts, best-selling author of Flight of the Intruder
“Berent tells it like it was!” — Chuck Yeager
“The best Vietnam air novel I have read. Berent captures the essence of flying men at war, their agony, emotions, courage, and triumph.” — Brigadier General Robin Olds

Author Bio:
Why did you write The Exiles?

I wanted to showcase the absurd status that we designate for specific people at the expense of others.  I mean we all ‘sin,’ and the ‘haves’ verses the ‘have not’ are really based on the people caught sinning verses the ones that got away with their sin.

What did you do before writing?

I worked for a few newspapers. I bar tended.  I conducted research for research tanks across the U.S., and I was employed by a few government agencies, doing research as well.

Which job was your favorite?

Bar tending.  You dealt with people living in the moment, ready to fully act on impulse.  Crazy times because you never knew what you were going to get- a fight, a strip tease, any emotional outburst could happen.  I was surrounded by human volcanoes, loaded with emotion, ready to erupt.

Who’s your favorite writer?

Chuck Palahniuk.

With all the competitive avenues to tell a story- movies, television, social media, YouTube, on and on, as well as the fact that people’s attention spans are nothing now, his ability to engage readers with words alone is extraordinary.

When did you know you wanted to be writer?

When my volleyball & basketball career came to an end.  I wanted to play games for a living, but I failed at try outs.

How do you handle criticism?

I don’t. LOL

Who has inspired you in your life?

Bill Hicks… It’s just a ride.

What’s a favorite saying of yours?

“Always do what you Fear.”
Benjamin Franklin

Where have you lived?

Detroit, Atlanta, Long Beach, Mexico City, Banjul, Toronto.

Do you have a favorite place?

I love them all like they are my children.

What are your favorite Movies?

Fight Club, Stand By Me, Man on Fire, American Beauty, Spy Game, & The God Father

Author Bio:
I am passionate about inspirational quotes, as you can see, as well as mainstream SciFi opera and Action Adventure. I always want to throw a curve to make it interesting and unusual while staying true to the genre and readers – my goal is to have readers think and smile.

I’ve loved to read and write science fiction and action adventure stories for many years. I wrote my first story in the early-1980s on an IBM Selectric typewriter of all things – you remember those days when you pressed hard on the character key, it swung up and smacked a carbon ribbon onto the paper leaving a visible character on the page, one letter at a time. Wow, have things changed!

I also strive to weave in my personal experiences into the stories when I can, whether from travels, climbing, making or creative exploits. Every day, I get up about 4 AM, to write. It is amazing and wonderful.

My wife and I are very fortunate to live in gorgeous Northern California, while I continue to work in downtown San Francisco. A bit of a hike, but worth the trip.

Under the blood red sky by William Ellis

About Under the blood red sky by William Ellis:

August 24th 2010 San Fernando, Tamaulipas, Mexico. A horrific discovery of seventy-two bus passengers, kidnapped from the main highways and murdered in cold blood, their bodies scattered on a deserted farm. The inhuman act shocked the nation, but this was only the beginning, as the following months saw the rise of one of the most powerful and brutal drug cartels in Mexico. With impunity, they swept through the region, while the authorities failed to act.
Felipe ‘Flip’ Hernandez is a handyman who lives with his two young sons in the eastern barrio of San Fernando. Haunted by the disappearance of his wife and wracked with guilt, he is forced to navigate his way through the corruption and violence that blighted his homeland, in the hope of discovering the truth.
The story moves through the killing fields and cartel occupied barrios of Tamaulipas, intertwined with children who bear witness to the bloodshed of Mexico’s drug war, a mother who undertakes a quest for justice when tragedy strikes. The teenagers who seek indoctrination into the drug cartels, a young El Salvadorian survivor, and a psychotic and bloodthirsty child soldier of the Los Zetas.
The story moves toward a conclusion that is apocalyptic and even more shocking than the mass murder that came before it. Based upon true events, the story moves between tragedy, violence but eventually towards hope. The good people of Mexico endure such hardships only 100 miles from the United States and under the blood red sky.

Currently available on Amazon Kindle for $1.23 reduced from $3.99 until March 15th 2017.

Author Bio:
I currently live in the United Kingdom with my wife and children. After college I joined the Royal Navy where I served in operational theatres such as Kosovo and Iraq.
After concluding my service I then went into Law Enforcement making my way to the rank of Detective.
I love writing and especially punchy and thought provoking stories. I am currently in the planning stages (which means pondering) my next book. The subject matter within my first book Under the blood red sky is more relevant than ever. This is my first book and contains certain personal elements to me. It was written from the heart, which I am sure will be conveyed. Much research went into capturing time and place, as well as the dangerous and explosive climate in Tamaulipas at that time. The characters are purely fictitious, but the one thing I sought was originality when committing them to the story. Rather than the stock macho men of old, I can assure the reader that the likes of Maria, the grieving mother who rises up against the Cartels and Rojo, the psychotic and sadistic child soldier will stay with the reader long after they finish the book. As well as being a story about hardship and families struggling under the turmoil, there are a number of twists and turns throughout.
Reading novels that pack a punch, my favourite authors and inspiration comes from the likes of James Elroy and Cormac McCarthy.
Aside from the writing I enjoy keeping myself as fit as anyone who both works and has a young family can. I love being involved with my son’s football (Soccer for my American cousins) which involves assisting with his team and cheering him on from the standard wet and windy sidelines.
I hope you enjoy what is my first novel as much as I did writing it.

Mother Goose for the Young @ Heart by R.S.Scheyer

About Mother Goose for the Young @ Heart by R.S.Scheyer:

Takes Mother Goose types of rhymes, adds a touched up photograph and a rhyme for those of us who are still Young at Heart. Example: Daisy, daisy, there’s way too many of you. I’ve gone crazy counting you two by two. . . And above this is a photoshopped field of daisies. There is a whole bunch of these in the work.
