Jack and Jill Went Downhill by R J Gould
About Jack and Jill Went Downhill by R J Gould:
Jack and Jill meet on Freshers Big Party Night at an English university and for both of them it’s love at first sight. Despite their backgrounds, personalities and interests being poles apart, the relationship flourishes during their college years.
It’s not nearly as comfortable when their studies are over and they start work, Jack in the City of London as a trader for an investment bank and Jill as a teacher in a poor neighbourhood. Way back when they first met, they’d shared the joke that their names were those of the nursery rhyme. Down the line, they fail to recognise that their lives are matching the plot – Jack falls down from the heights of success and affluence and Jill comes tumbling after.
Their relationship is on the rocks. Can it survive?

Author Bio:
I write contemporary romantic fiction, using humor to describe past, present and sought after relationships. My characters, some highly eccentric and some plain ordinary, are trying to make the most of their lives while carrying heaps of baggage. They struggle to balance the pressures of work, friends and families as they search for romance. The male perspective on relationships provides a refreshingly original viewpoint.
I was selected for the New Writers’ Scheme of the UK Romantic Novelists’ Association and following this success, was taken on by the publisher Accent Press. ‘A Street Café Named Desire’ was released in December 2014 and shortlisted for the 2016 Joan Hessayon First Novel Award. ‘The Engagement Party’ was published in May 2015 and ‘Jack and Jill Went Downhill’ was released in June 2016.
I’m a member of the Society of Authors and of Cambridge Writers, where I lead a Commercial Editing Group. I was the organisation’s short story competition winner in 2011, awarded third place in 2015, and my writing was commended in 2012 and 2014.
I have a new novel, Nothing Man, ready to go.
Live, Love, Explore: Discover the Way of the Traveler a Roadmap to the Life You Were Meant to Live
About Live, Love, Explore: Discover the Way of the Traveler a Roadmap to the Life You Were Meant to Live:
Leon Logothetis’s life was well plotted out for him. He was to do well in school, go to university, get a job in finance, and spend the next fifty years of his life sitting behind a slab of wood, watching the rain-slicked streets of London from thirty floors above. For a long time, he followed that script, until one day, he finally realized he was living someone else’s life—a good one—but not one of his own choosing.
So he walked out of that life, and discovered the one that took him around the world. Since then, Leon has driven a broken-down English taxicab across America, offering people free rides; ridden a vintage motorbike around the world, relying solely on the kindness of strangers; and followed a fellow traveler through India without ever knowing where he was going. He has visited more than 90 countries on every continent. Along the way, he learned something about the human spirit and about the heart of this world. He learned that he needed to shed his old ideas about who he was supposed to be in order to feel his soul rise to the surface and become the person he always longed to be.
The wisest words he heard, and the greatest lessons he learned, came from everyday people he met on his travels. He became their accidental student, and after years of sharing those lessons through TV shows, college tours, books, and in the media, he realized that he had also become an accidental teacher. His experiences are more than a collection of stories, they have become a way of life—the Way of the Traveler.
So, what is the Way of the Traveler? It’s a roadmap to living your best life, loving with all your heart, and exploring the world—both the great and adventurous one waiting outside your door, and the even greater, more adventurous one waiting within your soul.
Weaving together Leon’s hilarious and heartwarming stories of his misadventures on the road with simple but profound exercises to help you uncover your true path, Live, Love, Explore will teach you how to live fully and without regrets. It’s not to say that everyone who reads it will have to go to the ends of the world. Because you don’t have to go to Mongolia to discover the truths that lie inside. No, those life lessons can just as easily be learned from the people all around you–the chap serving you coffee at Starbucks, the woman sitting next to you on a plane, your co-workers, family, and friends. There’s an entire world of people willing to teach you their lessons if you’re willing to learn. And by opening yourself up to new adventures, by recognizing that you have the freedom to choose your own road, you’ll find something else that has been hiding in plain sight: you’ll find the life of which you have always dreamed… and the curiosity and courage it takes to make that life happen.

Author Bio:
I’m a global adventurer, motivational speaker & philanthropist. It wasn’t always that way. I used to be a broker in the city of London where I felt uninspired and chronically depressed. I gave it all up for a life on the road. This radical life change was inspired by the inspirational movie The Motorcycle Diaries.
The days of living and working behind a ‘slab of wood’ (or desk to the layman) are well and truly over. My new passion: Finding ways for your inner rebel (that voice that tells you, you are worth so much more than you think) to come out and play.
The inner rebel tells you that your life is yours. And anything you dream of is possible. Anything. And that the fuel for all this delicious potential is simple: Kindness and harnessing the power of human connection. And. Doing it all with a smile on your face and a spring in your step!
I have visited more than 90 countries and traveled to every continent. I was the host of the TV series Amazing Adventures Of A Nobody, which is broadcast across the world by National Geographic International and, over the course of three seasons, sees me crossing America, the United Kingdom and Europe on just 5 dollars, 5 pounds, and 5 euros a day, respectively.
I then created and filmed a new TV show called The Kindness Diaries, in which I circumnavigated the globe on a vintage yellow motorbike Kindness One, giving life changing gifts along the way to unsuspecting good Samaritans. All of this whilst relying on the kindness of strangers.
I’m no stranger to adventure. I teamed up with First Book® & drove a car from London to Mongolia raising money to buy 10,000 books for underprivileged children in America. I also drove a vintage London taxi across America, giving free cab rides to the needy and working with Classwish to bring hope back to the schools of America.

Angela Carling was raised in Palm Springs California, but lives Arizona with her husband, three kids and five felines. After years of denial she finally admitted that she is a hopeless romantic which led her to write her first Young Adult book Unbreakable Love. Since then she’s published three more books, Shackled, Becoming Bryn and The first three books of the Secret Keeper series. Shackled won the silver IPGA award in 2012 and has been optioned as a screenplay. She always eats the frosting off her cake and leaves the rest, and can be caught singing in public bathrooms just for the acoustics. When she’s not writing YA novels, she’s mentoring teen writers, making pizza with her family or dreaming of taking a nap, not necessarily in that order.
Being Richard
A contemporary paranormal mystery/thriller about an immortal whose quiet life is disrupted.
Being immortal has never been easy. Some people are born immortal – some are made immortal.
Towards the edge of Surrey, near the Hampshire border, lies the rural village of Elstead. If you follow the River Wey westwards you’ll arrive at Thundry Meadows, an ancient sacred site dedicated to the god Thor. It’s a place of beauty and mystery, where the river runs clean and owls hoot in the night. Over two and a half thousand years ago a man was born there, Sunbeerka, son of the swamp lord; bred to be sacrificed to Thor if the tribe was ever in danger, his destiny to give his life for the sake of his people. Some spirits refuse to die, and Sunbeerka lives on, quietly, near his birthplace in Elstead.
He isn’t lonely, but being immortal has its downfalls. The recurrence of loss, the memories, and the continual need for a new identity before everyone questions why he looks so young. From the start he knew that Richard Ridley didn’t feel safe; dying in infancy, and apparently unloved. He has no intention of being Richard. But then a man turns up claiming to be from the Special Investigation Department; and he’s forced to take on Richard’s identity, or be locked up – forever. All the department wants is for him to help them find other immortals – or do they?
He’s terrified of having his life controlled by others, but can’t rest until he’s discovered why Richard’s short life upsets him so much. Defying the department’s instructions, he sets about investigating his history. Uncovering Richard’s past proves dangerous, even for an immortal.

I’m an English author, born in London and brought up under the sound of Jumbo jets near Heathrow. I now live on the Surrey/Hampshire border on the edge of Jane Austen country where I spend any free time indulging in my passion for photography. I enjoy photographing wildlife and the local landscape and share my images on social media so that readers can get a feel for the locations around Farnham that I use in my novels.
I’ve had numerous non-fiction articles published, and won awards for short fiction and poetry, including a first prize awarded in a competition judged by noted mystery writer P D James. She was a total inspiration and personally encouraged me never to give up on my dream of becoming a published writer.
To date I’ve written many, many books, some published and some tucked away in secret files never to be seen again. My published work includes the Jake Talbot Investigates mystery series, which began with Visiting Lilly (2014) and continues with Saving Anna (2015). I’m currently working on the third book, Finding Louisa, due out in 2017. I’m also the author of two non-fiction books on how to read tarot, The System of Symbols: a New Way to Look at Tarot, which is now also published in Italian by Spazio Interiore; and Sex & Tarot.

You Are Mine by Janeal Falor
About You Are Mine by Janeal Falor:
Serena knows a few simple things. She will always be owned by a warlock. She will never have freedom. She will always do what her warlock wishes, regardless of how inane, frivolous, or cruel it is. And if she doesn’t follow the rules, she will be tarnished. Spelled to be bald, inked, and barren for the rest of her life—worth less than the shadow she casts.
Then her ownership is won by a barbarian from another country. With the uncertainty that comes from belonging to a new warlock, Serena questions if being tarnished is really worse than being owned by a barbarian, and tempts fate by breaking the rules. When he looks the other way instead of punishing her, she discovers a new world. The more she ventures into the forbidden, the more she learns of love and a freedom just out of reach. Serena longs for both. But in a society where women are only ever property, hoping for more could be deadly.

When people ask me what my book is about, I pause a moment because it is not so simple to describe. It is a vampire romance, I say and then, I pray that doesn’t scare them away. Because what are books really? I believe that books are a way to escape the daily routines of life.
I wanted to take an ordinary man and put him in fantastic situations. To bring a bit of fantasy down to reality. It is a love story at it’s heart. If I can take the reader on a journey and give them a laugh, cry, or simply bring a smile to their face, then it is all worth it. This story helped me through rough times in my life, and I can only hope it will do the same for the reader.
I have been writing my entire life. Raising a family put my dreams on hold. In 2005, my first novel A Mortal Indiscretion was published. But the publisher decided it should be 2 volumes, due to length. So, after several years, I regained the rights to my work and revamped it, combining the two volumes as I originally intended it to be. A Mortal Indiscretion; Author’s Cut is that version. It is the first in a series, a vampire romance with mystery and action. The sequel, Marzio’s Revenge is now available on Kindle and print.

Author Bio:
Bestselling, Amazon All-Star author Barbara Devlin was born a storyteller, but it was a weeklong vacation to Bethany Beach, Delaware that forever changed her life. The little house her parents rented had a collection of books by Kathleen Woodiwiss, which exposed Barbara to the world of romance, and Shanna remains a personal favorite.
Barbara writes heartfelt historical romances that feature flawed heroes who may know how to seduce a woman but know nothing of marriage. And she prefers feisty but smart heroines who sometimes save the hero before they find their happily ever after.
Barbara earned an MA in English and continued a course of study for a Doctorate in Literature and Rhetoric. She happily considered herself an exceedingly eccentric English professor, until success in Indie publishing lured her into writing, full-time, featuring her fictional knighthood, the Brethren of the Coast.

Dead Throne by Ryan David FitzPatrick
About Dead Throne by Ryan David FitzPatrick:
“Ever since I was a child, I have always dreamed of being taken away from the traveling vessel that I’d known throughout my entire life. I dreamed of exploring the uncharted corners of the universe and the various galaxies that magically float in a dimension of stardust and empty space. It’s my seventeenth year of life, and I finally get my dream.
I just wish I could take it back.
When they came for us, I didn’t panic. I didn’t cry. When they made us kneel before them, I went into an abyss of darkness, feeling completely and utterly alone.
Then I awoke.
I awoke to fresh air. My eyes dared to adjust to the natural light of a star. I could feel dirt between my nails as the rain fell from the sky. I was in awe, marching along with hundreds of others that were chained just like me. I explored the world with my eyes, not knowing that I was being led to a public execution before thousands of spectators. It was only just the beginning.
All I ever wanted was to live, to be like my father. I was handed a cold and heavy blade, told to spill blood or watch mine. I am told to kill for the freedom of my family. It’s either them, or my father. Either them, or my mother and sister. It’s either them, or the love of my life.
I choose them.
North is a space-born, a member of the starship Arcadia, who does his part by helping his father in the fields. The starship Arcadia has traveled for 116 years, and is days from its ascension to a new planet.
But North and his people have been misled. He soon discovers that the system inhabits a breed of filthy beings that enslave his people. When he wakes up, he’s marched through a dark corridor, the chants of one hundred thousand strong calling for blood. North takes a blade, inspired by fear and vengeance, and must fight his way through the arena to the victory of himself, but more importantly, his people.
North and his new companions will stop at nothing to bring down this world and the corrupt system by which they are forced to sling their blades.

Living in Italy: the Real Deal

About Living in Italy: the Real Deal:
In 2008 the author emigrated to Italy, bringing husband and dog along, to start Bed & Breakfast Villa I Due Padroni. But a lot of hurdles had to be taken before the first guests could be accommodated. In 2014 Stef reported about his adventures in buying and reconstructing the house, obtaining a tax number and a bank account, registering at the commune and at the national health service, importing their car and a range of other things that lead to a myriad of bureaucratic troubles. These problems were always resolved in a truly Italian fashion, leading to raised Dutch eyebrows and hilarious scenes. As a reader you will encounter a range of characteristic Italians, from sympathetic to villainous, from moving to shameless. Real Italians of flesh and blood, sometimes cliché, somtimes surprisingly original. But always worth encountering.
