There is a mental health advocacy component in Angel’s novels. Characters battle their own psyche; as the loss of one’s precious mind is the worst tragedy that a person can suffer. Angel came to this realization through her own trials and triumphs with mental illness. Her intellect was her comforting best friend while growing up, constantly driven by the ravenous need for new knowledge and the idea that she could overcome anything with the support of her mind. She has worked with juvenile sex offenders who exhibit co-morbidity with alcohol and drug abuse in lock-down residential homes. She has worked with HEROIC, a student run non-profit in bordertown Arizona, to establish medical clinics and schools for orphans within their impoverished communities. While studying abroad in Morocco, Angel worked in a Centre D’Écoute, a “Listening Center” for domestically abused women and girls where she helped provide therapeutic lessons and safety for these women from their families and the societal pressures of their religion. Angel works with intensive initaitives focused on development entrepreneurship in East Africa to confront the baffling cycle of poverty in innovative ways. Her discoveries in multiple cultures provides unique flavor to her writing, including an adept use of different languages.

As a holistic soccer trainer, she helps young athletes focus on their mind, body, and soul while programming their bodies to be elite performance machines.

These work experiences have touched Angel in innumerable ways. There is inspiration in the despair and muses found within the mysteries of these diverse cultures. Who am I…?
I published my first book in elementary-Mystery of the Missing Tabby. The school library still has it, as far as I know. That was my first real work, and writing became priceless to me over the next years. In Jr. High, I had a teacher tell our class that none of us could match the classic authors that we would be studying. We weren’t good enough. I took that to heart and turned in an A- paper with a rookie mistake that prevented me from getting the respect I wanted from that lady. I hated it that she was right. I still do. I also adore her for waking my brain to the possibility that someday I could be as good as one of the iconic writers that helped frame the world of literature. I’ll never know if she did it intentionally or if she was just stating a fact, but it worked for me. I’ve never wanted to do anything else. Thanks to that drive, the fire she finished waking, I now live off my writing and run my own publishing company. I have more than a dozen novels out and thousands of fans. I have a long way to go before future children study me in schools, but I’m still just as hot for it now as I was in that stuffy, musty classroom in 7th grade.
So, that’s who I am. I am building, and living, the American dream. Who are you and what have you done?

Someone asked me why I wrote The Deadly Caress. It’s what captured my attention at one time from a newspaper article and I started to get the what if’s going. What if a person was to discover that the woman she thought was her mother wasn’t. How would she feel? What if this mother was murdered? What would this person do?

Then there’s a scary scene with Amanda driving down a mountainside and that comes from my memory banks. I grew up across the road from a very bad intersection and every weekend there would be at least one horrific accident. Some of these were youths speeding or chasing each other. Others were drunks or drivers who had miscalculated the sharp turn and careered into an oncoming car or the nearby light post. My dad would run over to see if an ambulance needed to be called as we were the only family in the street to have a phone. He’d take blankets over if the person/people was badly injured and I would help him. My sister and my mother would be too upset to be of help and didn’t go.

Once a car overtook another and miscalculated. He caught the side of the vehicle and the side panel was peeled away like a giant orange peel. This I have included in one of my scenes.

I find my characters everywhere.
